John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

I'm confused about this scripture. We pray and hear from the Lord now. Does this mean we won't? Is the prince of the world referring to satan?

    Hi Cheryl.

Chapters 1,2,and 3 speaks of Judgment coming upon Israel.

In verse 16 he asked that they cut off the hair of their children. This is a sign of deep mourning. The Assyrian was coming and thy took the children first.

Micah 1:16. "Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee."

We see this display of mourning in Isaiah 15:2

"He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off."

You have the reason of this Judgment in ch 2.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

Numbers are very important in the Bible . However , there is always a danger that we can put too much significance on them and , if we do , we may end up paying more attention to them than we do to God's Word . I would caution anyone against getting too deeply into their significance as we could find ourselves on the edges of numerology and that wouldn't be advisable for anyone who considers themselves to be a Christian .

This is a very short Psalm. Nonetheless; we can ponder a theme here which is apparently a subject in the forefront of David's mind throughout the first section at least of Psalms; namely a petition for God to give him victory over his enemies and to heed to his sufferings.

As with many of these inspired writings; we certainly can look at Christ as being prophetically referenced to here. We are reminded of Psalm 22; as well as the times when Christ Himself said "why have you foresaken me?" ( Matt. 27:46). There is ultimate trust in David in verse 5; which we can all cling onto. Only Christ had to have that unspeakable horror of God's mercy removed for that brief moment in time. Only Christ COULDN'T pray for salvation of His soul (unnecessary for a member of the deity). But only He could procure the punishment for our sin as an atonement; and hence WOULD not be released from being a sin offering as it was clearly part of God's plan for the redemption of man.

We also are remined in Psalm 23:5 where a table is prepared in the presence of enemies. This could certainly apply to us; in the Millennium Kingdom as well as the Lord Himself when He rules with an iron rod. Any saint of God recognizes in general that they are in enemy territory lest they become too content in the world which is about to perish as it exists now in its fallen state under Satan's control. We are reminded of Christ's admonition to us that a servant is no greater than his master ( Jn. 13:16) and can truly understand we also will have trials as the Lord Himself was the "man of sorrows" ( iSAIAH 53:3). Man is but a vapor ( Romans 8:7 and mentioned further in Psalm 62:9; etal.

Hi. Yes it's true most preachers aren't preaching about the rapture or the second coming. Check out Pastor Billy Crone. He preaches a lot about these important subjects. He has written books also. Hope that helps. God bless you.

And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

God created only two people Adam and eve, they populated and gave birth to kids and Cain married his sister and more kids ware born and population expanded like that

    Leviticus Chapter 4

The altar of sacrifice had no crown molding around the edges. On the cross, Jesus was accursed due to our sin being upon Him. He was in the sacrifice for our transgressions, the payment for our sins, the propitiation for our rebellion against God, the reconciling sacrifice to cleanse us from sin. The altar of incense did have a crown molding around the edge. Jesus is depicted in this altar as our reigning King who purchased us with His blood and made us righteous before God. He is our representative, like the High Priest is the representative of all of Israel. His atonement is accepted by the Father and we are received into union with the Godhead through Jesus.

I am sure there is much more to be said on this Chapter. I welcome others input.

    Leviticus Chapter 4

    ...continued.

So, as to the differences, let's begin with the topic of voluntary and compulsory.

The first three offerings were not required. They are a free will offering on the part of the Israelite because they want to honor God and worship Him without being constrained to do so. It demonstrates the believers desire to commune with God, to bring Him glory, to interact with Him, and to give to Him.

The sin offering is mandatory. Sin must be dealt with. It has a price to be paid by a sacrifice. When a sinner brings this sacrifice to God, He is out of fellowship with God and the sacrifice removes the sin so that fellowship can be re-established. The sinner needs to be purified of sin. This purification must be made outside the camp, not in the camp where only that which is clean can abide. Our sin separates us from the fellowship of the Trinity because He is absolutely pure and holy. He cannot abide with sin.

Also, The body of sin is not fit for human consumption. It is tainted through and through. So, the priests cannot eat of it, also.

The sprinkling of the blood before the door of the tabernacle vs. before the veil is significant in that the courtyard is where all the Israelites congregated, but the holy place was entered only by the high priest as a representative of the people. So the blood of Christ sprinkled upon the place (our inner man) where the people worship God is sanctified and the blood of Christ sprinkled before the veil that separated the people from God indicates to God that the sin had been satisfactorily propitiated to reconcile the people to God. This is a beautiful picture of Jesus as our Mediator, High Priest, and Savior.

The application of the blood upon the horns of the altar of incense vs. the altar of sacrifice, my thoughts are of this sort. The brazen altar of sacrifice refers to the Cross of Christ where He paid for our sins. The altar of incense refers to the intercession of Jesus as our Mediator. .. continued

    Leviticus Chapter 4

This Chapter discusses the procedures for the sin offering for various groups of people:

    The high priest

    The whole congregation

The leader or ruler (prince or king in later times)

    A common Israelite

The sacrifice is very similar to the offering for atonement in Chapter 1, but there are a few differences.

In Chapter 1, the animal was skinned, not so in Chapter 4

The animal could be cattle, sheep, goat, or birds in Chapter 1, but in chapter 4 the animal is either a young bullock (1-2 years old), or a male kid goat, or a female sheep.

In Chapter 1, the blood was sprinkled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, in Chapter 4, the blood is sprinkled before the veil that separated the holy place and the holy of holies. The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and apply it to the horns of the altar of incense seven times or to the horns of the altar of sacrifice.

In Chapter 1 the animal sacrificed is to be burned completely on the altar until it is ashes. Like the peace offering in Chapter 3 the fat is burned on the altar of sacrifice, not the flesh and remainder of the animal in Chapter 4. Also, differing from the peace offering, in the sin offering, instead of the flesh being eaten in a fellowship meal, the whole carcass of the animal is taken by the priest outside of the camp to where the ashes from the altar of sacrifices are deposited and the animal is completely burned on wood on top of this heap of ashes.

The first three offerings were voluntary, but the sin offering was compulsory.

The first three offerings were a sweet aroma unto God. The sin offering was not.

The word atonement is used for both the burnt offering in Chapter 1 and the sin offering in Chapter 4. Makes me wonder, does this word have different meanings in these two instances?

These differences are a bit subtle and can be easily overlooked in reading through the chapters.

So my thoughts on these differences will be given in the next post....

    Hi Sinrpaul.

Preachers are to preach the gospel.

Preaching the rapture doesn't bring salvation. The Good news is the message of the cross.

We should be Preaching consequences of sin if we don't accept Christ as Lord and savior.

I engage in discussions on eschatology to show the Lord is going to make good on his promises to Israel. And those unfulfilled promises will be fulfilled in the Millennium. Also the Church and Israel are distinctive.

Acts 15:14-16. Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

"AFTER THIS" I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

Romans 11:25. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Revelation is a climax of what you studied in the 65 other books.

If you don't have some understanding on those books you won't have much understanding on eschatology.

    Gid bless.

Hello Alma. The Bible doesn't specifically speak about the Blood Moon, at least the apparent redness of the Moon that we've seen in recent times. The only references to that future time is found in Acts 2:20,21 and Revelation 6:12 (at the opening of the sixth seal). Here, it speaks of the "moon becoming as blood", which maybe referring to a much deeper redness than what we have seen now.

    Hi Dr Martin.

We get that question a lot.

The same question can be asked about Seth.

If it was an issue with Cain, Seth would have had the same issue!

Adam and Eve was told to multiply the earth.

We don't know how many siblings they had by the time Cain left from the presence of the LORD.

It seems in Genesis 4:14 there were other siblings already born.

"Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that EVERY ONE THAT FINDETH ME SHALL SLAY ME."

The key to the controversy is in Genesis 4:16-17 "And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, AND DWELT IN THE LAND OF NOD, on the east of Eden.

AND CAIN KNEW HIS WIFE; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch."

An often asked question is did Cain get his wife from the land of Nod?

    The scripture doesn't say that.

    It says

"And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod and Cain knew his wife.

It appears Cain was already with a wife BEFORE he went out from the presence of the LORD.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

I was entering the grocery store the other day, and noticed a man who was wearing a very small suit. He was wearing big sunglasses. I turned to him and said that he looked the weather man on t.v.. His reply was that he was his son!

I immediately for one instant thought this person was an angel. I immediately thought of Christ! When He had said that he was the weatherman's Son, everything came into perspective, that Jesus is living among us! That Jesus is the weatherman's son, that He lives and dwells among us in everyday life!

    Amen Joe.

That's the view I hold also.

Did you notice in Revelation 5:3. the locations was saught out to find a "MAN" (Kinsman Redeeer) to loose the seals?

"And no man in ( HEAVEN,) nor in EARTH, neither UNDER THE EARTH, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

"Another verse some of us use to identify the rapture has already taken place at this point."

    HERE'S ANOTHER THING TO NOTE;

    Look at how they are identified In Revelation 5:9-10. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood OUT OF EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION;

And hast made us unto our God KINGS AND PRIESTS: and we shall reign on the earth.

We know this don't represent the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 Apostles. They're not "OUT OF EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION;"

But look who this group Identify with. Revelation 1:4-6. John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, AND WASHED US FROM OUR SINS IN HIS OWN BLOOD,

AND HATH MADE US KINGS AND PRIESTS unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

All this takes place BEFORE the Antichrist hits the scene and before the 7 seals are broken.

    God bless.

Where does Ezekiel Chapters 38 & 39 fit into end time prophecy?
  • Steve Schoenberger - In Reply on Daniel 7 - 1 year ago

you are struggling because you are placing yourself today in prophecy.

Prophecy was suspended at the stoning of Stephen.

Peter clearly was expecting the tribulation at any point.

They had sold all their houses and land and were expecting the tribulation to start.

God interrupted the prophecy program when he called Paul and revealed to him the mystery.

Prophecy cannot start back up till this age of grace is over.

The catching away of the body of Christ will initiate the prophetic clock to start back up.

Daniels 70th week is the last week to be fulfilled.

God's resumes his dealings with Israel at this point.

The mixing of these 2 programs and the allegorical approach to Biblical interpretation is the cause of this confusion.

Every date setter in history has been wrong.

This is because they started looking at the Bible literally but also put themselves in prophecy.

Paul is our Apostle in this age of Grace he calls mystery.

Learn this and you will understand prophecy better than you ever have.

Learn to rightly divide the Bible by Prophecy and Mystery not OT and NT.

This is the literal approach to Bible study.

There is no restriction as to when a person can trust in Jesus as Savior in this age.

Those telling you works must accompany salvation should read Romans just for a start.

Romans and James DO contradict and for good reason.

Read James 1:1 - James was writing to the 12 scattered tribes that were still practicing the Law.

Romans is written by Paul who is revealing salvation by grace alone apart from the law.

This age old debate can be solved in 2 minutes by taking a literal approach to scripture.

Salvation in this age is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus crosswork.

Rightly dividing you Bible can clear up these questions.

    Hope this helps.
