Very true, Narelle. We read Scripture often piecemeal, to our shame & continuing in ignorance.

Sue, the word 'listen' is not often used (Isaiah 49:1). 'Hear' & "Hearken' are often used. These generally have the implied meaning to not only listen with the ears, but to do in action.

Jessica, Jesus is seen as a part of the Triune God (i.e. NOT three Gods, but three Persons or Personalities). And this one God in Heaven are the Father, the Word & the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). However, for the sake of the redemption of mankind, God in due time sent His Word to Earth as Jesus, His Son, to give His Life a ransom for all (read Romans chap 5). Yes, God is intimately concerned & involved in every believer's life: He gives us His Spirit to do this work after we are born again (read John chap 3 & chap 14:16-21). We hear God speak to us through His Word (2 Timothy 3:16) & His Spirit (Romans 8:16: speaks of the Spirit speaking with our spirit, so we remain in tune with God's Holy requirements for us, how to behave, where to go, what to do, how to speak, wisdom, telling another about Christ, etc). I find the King James version is the best as it has been translated from the original Text (Textus Receptus). But if you don't understand the English, then read New KJV or New American Std.

ERIC: For God so loved the World...that's everybody. Everyone has the same opportunity to draw close to God who created all we see and know. Set aside your religion for a time and explore who God says He is.

The Bible is spiritually discerned for everybody; whether Jew, Gentile, Greek, Palestinian, or middle eastern descent. It will be hard to understand until you ask God the Father to help you read it. Start in the gospel of John, chapter 3 verses 1 to 8. That's where Jesus tells you that you must be born again to understand the spiritual. Verse 3

This is how we all started. You can't sit on a fence between Muslim and Christian. I will only say that Eternal Life with the God of the universe comes through Jesus.

    1 Corinthians 15: 1-5/ Romans 10: 9-10

    Matthew 10: 32-33

What kind of person would I be to lie and not tell the truth? I had to walk this road too. I'm telling you this is the way. Joy unspeakable.

Read Job 38 which tells you the Sons of God shouted for joy at the foundation (creation) of the earth.

Adam did not exist until 6 days after the earth was created. So how can the sons of God be godly men?

since when do godly men marry ungodly women and then giants are born to them?

John 1:14 Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God.

Luke 3:38 Adam is called a son of God since God created him.

1 John 3:1 Believers do not become Sons of God till they are born of the Spirit.

So who was the Father of the angels? would they not be Sons of God also?

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

I know most churches will argue with me and claim Genesis 6 is not referring to angels and I say they are wrong.

when do believers and unbelievers get married and have giants for kids?

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God IN HEAVEN.

Chris, very well said, Amen! What you just said is the reason why I believe that what is going on in our churches today is not the tongues that the bible speaks of. In fact, what is going on today as far as tongues goes, it doesn't even come close to what was happening in the early church, and the purpose God intended it to be.

My guess on why Paul said forbid not to speak in tongues was because at that time, God was giving them that ability. Therefore, at that time, it would have been right for Paul to say that.

Acts Chapter 2 is a perfect example of tongues in its proper function. The Holy Spirit fell on these men, and they spoke in tongues. What they were speaking were known languages, not known to those who were speaking, but known by those who were hearing them speak.

Most of what is going on in our churches as far as tongues goes is in complete violation of 1 Corinthians 14:22.

The Book of Isaiah, was written to (speaking to) the tribe of Judah while the ten northern tribes (Israel) were on the cusp of going into Assyrian captivity. Isaiah lived & prophesied during the reigns of Judah's kings: Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz & Hezekiah.

Jessica: best Bible for study is a King James Version with columns in the center of each page for cross referencing. Also that has a dictionary and good sized concordance. Harmony of the gospel books & maps.

I've actually found those at Goodwill that sadly got donated. I buy them and give them to anyone who says they don't have a Bible :) my favorite thing to do.

I found that the best way to study is to read a whole book at a time. Don't skip around unless you are reading the verses from that center column.

In the Harmony books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) is four Disciples that saw and heard the same things: the same thing written down by a tax collector, a doctor, etc)

I pay close attention to what Hod is saying and what Jesus is saying and doing.

We're going to be spending eternity in heaven with them, and we need to find out everything we need to know now.

When back to school sales start I get a dozen notebooks to take notes, ask questions, things to look for later.

In Bible genealogies, daughters were not recorded there unless they were in the direct bloodline of Jesus Christ. Genesis ch 5:4 days after Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years & had other sons and daughters. Seth lived 907 years & had sons & daughters. My GUESS is that cousins married.

Arriving at chapter 6, Satan's angels that got kicked out of heaven with him, started taking wives from Adams lineage. They were giants (like Goliath). Scientists have actually excavated skeletons of them.

Genesis 6:5-7, God was grieved at his heart that he had made man.

Enter Noah. Genealogy picked back up through Noah's decendents. Genesis 9:18

You have to read and take notes about all the Genealogy. God keeps track of all humans born in a book. Even the ones who didn't get born. All the days of our life is recorded in a book: miscarriages, abortions and live births. There's a scripture in Psalms that God oversaw the child being knit together in the womb, in secret. It's incredible to think about

An age-old question, next only to: the eternal existence of God. It can never be satisfactorily answered except what we learn from Scripture & understanding of human biology. Some have talked of a pre-Adamic race or Cain & Abel had older siblings: but these are not scriptural. We often imagine these two brothers were young when Cain took Abel's life. Yet, they could have been much older (it has been suggested: over 100 yrs old). Adam lived for 930 yrs (Genesis 5:5) so the likelihood of many more children after Cain: with as many as 32,000 at the time of Abel's death. Then the question of incest arises, even if Cain married a sister, cousin, niece. Medically, this would be a grave problem as also against the law. However, Adam & Eve were created perfect with an untainted gene pool & only after the fall, would incest become a grave issue. So if Cain married before the tainted genes were passed on, then his marriage to a sister could be considered & this became unlawful in Lev chaps 18 & 20.
  • Jesse - in Reply on Genesis 4
Adam and Eve had other children, so Cain's wife could have been one of his sisters. The bible doesn't tell us specifically who Cain's wife was. At that time, they were allowed to intermarry. That would be incest to us and considered sin. It was sin then also. But we have to understand that at that time, God had not yet given the law, so they did not know that it was a sin.

Romans 5:13 says "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law." So sin was not imputed before the law was given because there was no knowledge of sin. Nobody knew what sin was, though sin was there.

Hattie, as in all Scripture, one needs to see the context in which a certain passage is written. In Galatians 6:1,2, Paul references his earlier lengthy message on the Fruit of the Spirit in contrast to the works of the flesh (please read Galatians 5). So when he speaks in 6:1,2, he says to use that same spirit of Meekness (5:23), if you find a brother or sister overtaken by a fault (maybe some sin or error in judgement), then you who are mature in Christ & in His Word, help that poor soul to get back to a life of peace & victory - I apologize here that I am paraphrasing liberally so as to help you understand the verses). And, "considering thyself lest thou also be tempted" means: do this act of love for your brother/sister with great personal introspection & care (i.e. don't do it thinking that you are superior - that you won't fall into sin as he/she did. See 1 Cor 10:12 for a warning in this regard). And then, to fulfil Christ's law, we must help in carrying other's life's heavy loads.
  • Jesse - in Reply on Psalms 11
We get our new or glorified body at Christ's second coming. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:8 that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Here is my understanding of how this all works.

When we die as believers, our soul, or spirit, departs our body and immediately goes into the presence of Christ. Our physical body remains in the grave until Christ comes back. And by the way, we come back with Him.

1 Thess. 4:13-18 gives us the details about the rapture of the church. When Christ returns at His second coming, and again we come back with Him, unless of course, we are still alive when He comes back.

But, we are told that the dead in Christ will rise from the grave first, and then the believers who are alive on the earth, they will be snatched up, or raptured. So when Christ calls the bodies out of the grave, the body comes up, and in the twinkling of an eye, the body is changed into a spiritual body for our spirit to inhabit forever.

James, it is wonderful to read that Jesus Christ is your blessed possession & considering the life to come is on all our minds, for sure. Philippians 3:20,21 tells us that our conversation (our citizenship/our life from now to eternity), is already in Heaven. When Jesus comes for us (in the Rapture), our frail, sinful bodies will be cast off & changed to become like His Glorious Body (i.e. we will be as He is in Heaven: 1 John 3:2). And for those who have already died, their bodies will arise from the grave (1 Thes 4:15-17) & together (both the dead & alive believers) will have their bodies restored to spend eternity with the Lord (whether on Earth or in Heaven). So for those who have died & their Spirits have already gone to be with the Lord in that instant (2 Corinthians 5:6-8), they will return with the Lord at His Coming & receive their new bodies. We have a glorious certain future ahead of us as we wait anxiously to see the One Whom we love but He Who first loved us in giving of Himself.

A third of the sun's path is darkened- the sun is moving, we are still!!- a third of its path is a third of a day- otherwise we are looking at 4 months of darkness

Just like Joshua commanded the sun to stand still.

We live on a flat earth-we are God's foot stool ; up means up and down means down-

Like clay under the signet ring

The line accross- the breadth of the earth; the face of the earth

Pillars, foundations, the sea being locked up,antartica all around us

The firmament over us ,with waters above us, the firmament strong as molten looking glass

Gods throne over above us in the north- over north pole mount zion

The world has created a system that is trying to exclude God. False science(opposition of science)

The ball earth with the sun in the center (idolatry), evolution, God removed from schools, prayer removed-Is it any wonder children are not taking the bible seriously?

We try to conform the Word of God

To the false science our kids are taught in school-WAKE UP!
  • Pauline Howarth - in Reply on Isaiah 62:7
For God so loved the world (this means you) that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

But God demonstrates his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried and that he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and that he was seen of Cephas then of the the twelve and after that about five hundred brethern at once. For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. John 3:1-8 tells the story of Nicodemus where Jesus tells us we must be "born again".

I pray that you find the way, the truth and the life !!

  • Jesse - in Reply on Revelation 10:11
Revelation 10:8-11 is where John was given instruction concerning this little book. We see this same book in Ezekiel Chapters 2 and 3. This book is the title deed to the earth. But it is also the word of God. He's told to take it and eat it. The word of God is sweet to the taste. But the judgments are hard on the heart, and bitter to the belly.

It was always God's intention that God's people eat His word, that the word of God becomes our spiritual food, and that the word of God becomes part of us, and that we speak not just from out of the book, but out of our heart.

We're told to devour it first, not just memorize it or learn it with our mind, but to receive it spiritually, and devour it as the word of God. That's always the way it was intended to be.

So he said prophesy again, and he said you will do so in front of many people. To prophesy means to speak forth the written word of God that He has given to us, nothing added, nothing taken away. In other words, no new prophecy!
  • Chris - in Reply on 1 Corinthians 14:39
If we take "Forbid not" as a command on its own, then you are quite correct that no one should forbid the speaking in tongues under ANY circumstances. Yet, all good biblical exposition requires that all Scripture, be understood in its proper context, with the background in mind & in line with other Scriptures. To use "Forbid not" as a command to speak in tongues without restraint (unless speaking/praying in private (1 Corinthians 14:4)), then we demonstrate a myopic & distorted view of the subject. The use of tongues is given to the Church as one of several gifts for its edification, but if there is no one to translate, then the gift is to be withheld, as the Spirit of God leads in the service. The instructions by Paul are ample in showing the correct use of this gift, more so because of its misuse & by those who wished to demonstrate a sense of superiority over others. And then, the opponents of the gifts quote 1 Cor 13:8-10: that all gifts are now redundant; but I don't share that view.

Paul, No. The "wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel" are chakras. That is precisely what chakra means - wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel. God is telling you to teach yourself to meditate using the seven chakras or spiritual centers or seven churches or seven seals - however you think about it. It's that simple. The spirits in the wheels are the mind cells of each of the seven seals. The four living beings only represent the 4 chakras in your torso as they are your animal or mindless chakras or earthly chakras as opposed to your heavenly chakras - on earth as it is in heaven.

Tricia, Take it by the numbers. ))) This vision was similar to Isaiah's visitation of 4 seraphs and Daniel's dream of 4 beasts and John the Revelator's Revelation when he was "in the spirit". They all had very similar "beasts with 6 wings". Ezekiel had the most attributes - 6 wings, 4 faces, rings so high they were dreadful, eyes all around and "wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel". 4 faces - calf, man, lion & eagle - are similar to earth, wind, fire and water as in the cryptogram in Ecclesiastes 1 and Genesis 1. Although yoga is a 4-letter word to Christians, those attributes point directly toward both yoga and another 4-letter word - meditation. Now it's up to you. Good luck Tricia

I find it interesting that God has given us such a glorious planet yet man spends trillions going to Mars.WHY? This is very funny. Mars is red. In Revelation satan and the beast are red.
