Where can i find the apostles creed
  • Paul - in Reply on Galatians 3
James 2:18-20 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Revelation 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Revelation 20:12 and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
  • Paul - in Reply on Galatians 3
John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

John 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

    1 Timothy 6:18-19 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

    2 Timothy 3:17

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
  • Jesse - in Reply on John 5:4
You ask me "What is your reason for living life as a Christian or trying to be obedient to Jesus, if it has nothing to do with going to heaven?"

I never said obedience had nothing to do with going to heaven. Where did that come from? I do not "try to be obedient" because that takes human effort. My flesh will never be in obedience to Christ, so why try? I am not obedient to Him because of any human effort on my part. I am obedient to Him because of what His Spirit is doing in my life. Do I choose to be obedient to Christ, or do I choose to be obedient to my flesh? There is a battle that takes place between my flesh and the Spirit of Christ who dwells in me. Which one are you yourself obedient to? Who do you submit to, Christ, or your flesh?

Space running out, more to follow.

    Romans 2:6-7, 10

Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Hi Lauren, the Bible answers the most profound questions about life that science can't answer: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going when we die? How should we live? Out of the 7 billion people on earth, most people believe the Bible and that it's true, historically and factually, enough so, they base their beliefs and worldview on it. It has transformed billions of lives for the better and countless testimonies, videos, books are written about it. It is the most popular and published book in world history in the billions of copies. It's specific with names, dates, and world events, which historians confirm is accurate. So much so it has the entire genealogy of mankind between Adam & Eve to Abraham to Moses to Jesus, spanning thousands of years. It wasn't just written by one author, but dozens, spanning 1,500 years, and 66 books. It contains profound wisdom, even 'knew' things before science did: Link

Why was Nathan instead of Solomon written as the son of David?
  • Bob Hilt - in Reply on Isaiah 45:7
Greetings Adam, I overall agree with your statement that the Lord did not create evil however....

Isaiah 45:7 I (Lord) form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Darkness is absence of light. The Lord created everything good as in Genesis 1: 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

All God created was good, no evil yet Job 38 records the sons of God shouting for joy at the foundation of the earth. So they must be angels since Adam did not exist till 6 days after the earth. Lucifer was in existence and been good.

Ezekiel 28 records the fall of Lucifer

Verse 15 "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

    Created, not born or formed...

Yes God created Lucifer good who you point out rightfully that he had freewill to fall and he became evil. Since God created all he did evil to

were can I find the Apostles Creed in he Bible
  • Jesse - in Reply on John 5:4
My answer to your first question is yes, that is my position. If you understand what takes place at the point of salvation, then maybe you'll see why I take that position. Free will? We're allowed to make decisions. But every decision we make is based on what or who we love the most. We either submit to the persuasion of God's Spirit telling us what He wants us to do, or we submit to what our flesh wants to do. Which one do you submit to? You say some "Christians" turn to evil, and denounce Christ, and then you say it is unfortunate? That's not unfortunate, especially since Paul says that division is necessary? Those "self-professing" Christians who turn to evil and denounce Christ were never saved or they wouldn't have left (1 John:2:19). You bring up Judas. Was that unfortunate? No, not at all. Jesus chose an evil man to fulfill His plan.

There is not enough space here to answer all you question, but I will answer in a separate post.

I find it intriguing how we keep on ignoring the fact that God says to all of us " - - I have shown you the end from the beginning" - - Isaiah 46:9-10, Matthew 5:17-18

  • Adam - in Reply on John 5:4
Hi Chris, thanks for your response. I think the OSAS view contradicts itself and contradicts scripture.

The statement "Christians cannot blaspheme" contradicts Christians having freewill. Either Christians have freewill or don't. Some people were Christians then denounced it, like Marilyn Manson, Hitler, among many others. So we have the personal evidence on Earth, and scripture evidence including Matthew 10:33 and many others.

    > "But the believer has to be on guard against Satan (1 Peter 5:8) & to "work out (attention to) his own salvation with fear & trembling" (Philippians 2:12). A constant warfare, requiring vigilance, but the believer remains secure in God's Perfect Plan for him."

These verses also contradict the OSAS movement. If a Christian is already saved why would they need to be on guard? What is there to 'work out' if salvation is already decided?
  • Adam - in Reply on Isaiah 45:7
God doesn't create evil, but allows evil, because he allows freewill to choose right or wrong. Satan is allowed to tempt us just as God allowed Job to be tempted and tested. We are all being tested while here on earth.

BTW, Chris I think its risky to call someone foolish or a fool because of Matthew 5:22.

  • Paul - in Reply on Galatians 3
Rod, I gave the definition of being saved by grace and you replied in a manner saying I'm incorrect. Then you continue by using the apostle Paul's writing which say works are not involved in our salvation.

Clearly, James writings on faith and works contradict Paul's writings on grace.

Therefore, I neither call the apostle James or the apostle Paul liars.

    I say it is both.

We are saved by grace after all we can do, says neither James or Paul are liars.

Many mislead others by using Paul to call James a liar.

If you meet James , the apostle of our Lord, when you pass on you can say, I used the apostle Paul to call you, the apostle of our Lord, James, a liar.

When I meet James and Paul, I will call neither a liar because I believe the truth.

There is no eternal life in th written word, eternal life in only by the living word, My words are spirit and life.Peter says being bornagain by an incorruptible seed even by the words of God that LIVIETH and abideth for ever ( the living word ) which is spirit and life.IF WE CD BE BORNAGAIN BY READING THE BIBLE JESUS SHED HIS BLOOD IN VAIN AND THE CROSS WAS JUST FOOLISHNESS. There was no other nation as sola scriptura as Israel but Israel stoned almost every prophet and REJECTED th Christ and Jesus was the LIVING WORD THAT THEY REJECTED.Its not about paper and ink but the blood of Jesus th living word of God the stone the builders rejected. The bible is precious and holy we need the bible written word. but there is no eternal life in the bible per se.The bible is not God but the living WORD IS TRULY GOD.His blood in not in the bible th written word but his blood is truly in the living word thats y he says you are made CLEAN by the WORD i have spoken unto you WHICH IS SPIRIT AND LIFE .
  • Chris - in Reply on Isaiah 45:7
Gwynn, you're on very dangerous ground to believe that God created both good & evil. I had an uncle who also said similarly & he believed that since we have good & bad things on Earth & since He is Supreme, that God also created evil. How wrong & foolish he was. God can never be a creator of anything evil. Either God is Good or evil, not both. Can the Devil also share this inconceivable trait? Never, he is altogether evil. How about humans? Some say we can be both good & evil. The Bible teaches us that all of us are inherently evil (Romans 3:23) (i.e. we all have a sin nature passed down generations from our first parents), that even if we commit the smallest sin, then the whole person is a sinner. (1 Corinthians 5:6 speaks about a little leaven = sin, leaveneth the whole lump). God is Holy. There are many, many references to this, but apostle John gives us a vision of Heaven & sees the heavenly beings cry out "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD God Almighty, which was, is & is to come" (Revelation 4:8).

    Hi Melissa,

Blessings on you for asking for prayer. I'm sorry for his loss and how that's affecting him and you. While I'm not a grief counselor per se, I do know you're on the right road by sharing about your burden, instead of bottling it all up inside; now we can all help you by begging God for your situation as both you and your dear one walk the path of grief - he for the loss of his mother, and you for the loss of relationship you used to have with him.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God"

    God bless.

  • Alex on Galatians 3
Ya think that Mary cd have fallen away or lost her salvation ( the Child ) the Son of God,th living word of God no way.Jesus said to them that hath shall more be given, her Child grew more and more in statue with God and man and we are like MARY in that we must be born from above but the child we birth is spirit th h.g. our new innerman, christ in we have borne the image of the earthy we must also bear ( birth ) the image of the Heavenly.thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN.mankind has to bring forth fruit unto God which is the H.G. THAT RESULTS FROM HIS SEED THE WORD TH LIVING WORD NOT THE WRITTEN WORD THAT GENDERS TO DEATH BUT THE LIVING WORD.MY WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE THAT genders to a baby Christ born in us.My lil children of whom i travail in birth til Christ is formed in you th ( son of man ) Thus we cannot fall away if we birth Christ in our hearts the child is th essence of God the child of PROMISE EMANUEL God with us.She brought forth a man child th H.G.

  • Chris - in Reply on Numbers 12
Patricia, if you're referring to the matter in Numbers 12:1 ff, then verses 1 & 2 refer to Aaron's & Miriam's objection to Moses' marriage to an Ethiopian woman & God's prophetic use of their brother Moses, instead of them. Or at least, that they too should be able to give prophecy to the children of Israel. We don't know exactly how this all started or the level of anger & objection they raised against Moses, but it was apparently severe enough for the temporal punishment of Miriam (with leprosy) for her sin. I've always wondered why Aaron wasn't also punished at that time. Maybe because Miriam was the instigator of this sin, as well as Aaron being the High Priest, which position shielded him from God's Anger.
  • Chris - in Reply on John 5:4
Jesse, I too appreciate your comments here & do always look for them, as from one who correctly divides the Word of God & has an intimate relationship with the Godhead. I know we may never agree on everything - who even does or can? - but what is essential is that His Word & His Love is enriching us daily & we together "press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus". The Lord give you His Grace & Wisdom in your life & your contributions here.
