  • Cheryl K on Luke 22
The real official reason is as follows: Back in 1611, the past tense was "brake" while the past participle was "broken". "Brake" is now considered obsolete or archaic but was still in use then at the beginning of the 17th century. The shortened form "broke" became really common between the 17th and 18 th century, which was just a touch past when this Bible went into print. From orig.root "bhreg"

Jesus wanted to the disciples to trust in Him and him alone. But knowing that Peter and another apostle had swords He was saying that if they were to trust in a sword, there was coming a time when they would need one. (Ellicott's commentary)
  • Vance (Reborn) on Psalms 84
To all, Christ wants you all to hear the word of God but only if you choose to do so. Only you can open your ears and hear the word. I have opened my ears and I hear and I understand. Start be reading the Gospels of Jesus provided by his Disciples and choose to understand what the message is behind the parables. This is me spreading the word. God bless you all without discrimination.

  • Evelyn Simmons Finch on Psalms 127
David loved God and was a great man of God. He was not all about himself. He was constantly telling everyone about God and how great God is. David was very humble and did not think he was better than anyone else. He never said that he was a favorite of God.
  • Gary Olsen on Isaiah 61
Oil refers to olive oil which was burned for light. When oil is mentioned, it means light. Here it means light versus darkness. Darkness means despair. Light means the opposite of despair or joy. Think of something that fills you with gladness. There's that warm glow inside of you whenever you think of it. This is the oil of joy.
  • I am that Michael Isaac Dale on Ephesians 4
    (5) neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living. For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the Gospel. (GOD freely gives truth.)
  • I am that Michael Isaac Dale on Ephesians 4
    (4) And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. For God made not death:
  • I am that Michael Isaac Dale on Ephesians 4
    (3) Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
  • I am that Michael Isaac Dale on Ephesians 4
    (2) As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. The mercy of man is toward his neighbour; but the mercy of the Lord is upon all flesh: he reproveth, and nurtureth, and teacheth and bringeth again, as a shepherd his flock.

The Gospel of God: (1.) (Gospel must be good news for it to be Gospel. And Holy Scripture must be given BY GOD for it to be OF GOD.) The Gospel of God cometh only from God, our Father which art in heaven. Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
  • Obbie Beal on Luke 12

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? ....Fire on earth - Jesus clearly state HE came to send fire on earth (even though HE knew ‘a fire’ was already ‘kindled’ on earth) i.e, read ‘all’ of Revelation chapter 6 to better understand ‘this fire’.

  • Richard on Genesis 1
Genesis is a most beautiful and simple way to be introduced to creation and the true power and glory of our Heavenly Father. Also a wonderful way to explain all there is to your children. How everything began.

  • @ Sonya, I noticed and thought the same thing. Look into Bible Mandela effects. It's been happening a lot. I've noticed it largely in the epistles. One of the most obvious ones is where (in multiples places, including James) it will word it that either God has a father or that God and the Father are two different Beings. It used to say God the Father, now it says God even the Father.
  • Joshua Adetola on Psalms 91

  • Gary Olsen on Revelation 11
The definition of capital is a city or town that is the official seat of government. David established Jerusalem as the city he would rule all Israel from (2 Sam. 5). In Zech. 1:16-17, our Lord says he will choose Jerusalem. This is confirmed in Rev. 21:2-3. It is the new Jerusalem from which our God will rule and reign over all mankind.
