    Ezekiel 22:3

    "...idols against herself..."

Not much different than the "modern church"; I.E. christ-mass, e'star, sun-day!

All refutable "... according to the scriptures..."!!!

Are we seeing 2 Chronicles 7:13 with the Covid-19 issue?

Going to be very difficult to say no!

In Luke 16 vs 22-31 the message is clear - there is no way to escape the burning lake of fire. By accepting and following Jesus, one escapes being THROWN into the burning lake of fire - a big difference.

  • Sharron - in Reply on Genesis 32
Sorry to pop you theological bubble. There is not a trinity. HERE OH ISREAL THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD. GOD creator became flesh, the flesh was, given a name above every name, JESUS, was crucified rose again, assessed into heaven and sent HIS SPIRIT back for us to receive on the day of Pentecost. And they were gathered together tarrying and HIS SPIRIT (GOD HIMSELF) fell and they spoke in tongues they did not know, but individuals heard their tongue being spoken. Peter stood up and used the keys given him in the 38th verse of the 2 chapter of the book of Acts. This was GOD giving man POWER OF HIS SPIRIT. HIS HOLY SPIRIT. There is only ONE GOD, not three persons , for in JESUS DWELLETH THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES AND PRAY.

We are God creation he made us, and design us to do his perfect will here on earth

Therefore we came with an instruction manual and it's noted clearly in this book

...we must obey his commands and statutes and try not to compare to living by grace

Excellent response! I agree that "Forbid not...." is not the final command on toungues and that a myoptic view of any scripture will always bring error or misunderstanding.

However, there are persons in the church who sadly make the crnter piece of their Christian lives communicating that "toungues" have past away and indeed all of God's ministerial gifts have past away." If I had not ever heard anyone speak in toungues I would still have faith in it because of "Forbid Not."
  • Chris - in Reply on Revelation 10:11
Further to Jesse's comment: we don't have specifics on Apostle John's further ministry (v11). We understand from tradition (& not confirmed), that after he was sentenced to the mines on the Isle of Patmos, at which time he received these prophecies described in the Book of Revelation, he was then freed & left there to serve as Bishop of Edessa, in what is today Turkey. He then died an old man - the only apostle to die peacefully. So we don't have details of his ministry, post Patmos, though according to the angel's directive, John's ministry must have been extensive as he may have built upon Apostle Paul's earlier ministry there.
  • Chris - in Reply on Galatians 6
Bob, we can only look at this with a limited understanding, taking in glimpses for various Scriptures. Though in 2 Corinthians 5 we get a picture of this from Paul. I see that for those who die, their spirits go to be with the Lord (5:1-8). Those without Christ, into Hades, where Satan & the angels who sinned are there now (2 Peter 2:4). But there will be a time of Judgement for both the saved & unsaved. For the saved, the Judgement Seat of Christ that we may receive rewards/crowns or loss for what has been done on Earth (not judgement on our souls - that was done at the Cross & fully paid for) (2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15). For the unsaved, the Great White Throne Judgement (Revelation 20:11-15) remains; a fearful time when their final destination will be the Lake of Fire, where Satan, the Anti-Christ & the False Prophet are. And we are with the Lord of Glory & His Blessed Son for all eternity. What a wonderful motivation for all believers to live each day for Him & serve Him joyfully.
  • Chris - in Reply on Matthew 24:36
Vicki, praise God for your salvation through His Son & for your continual search through Holy Scriptures & your longing for the Saviour's return. We, who look for His Coming, have a tendency to wonder if the time is now. Yes, the signs are there: Israel is a nation & the Jews are returning to their homeland (see Ezekiel 37. They are spiritually dry (dry bones) & without God but He will put His Spirit in them (future) & place them in their own land - happening now (vv14,21,25). They will be one nation (v22) - from May 1948, there has been a steady return of the Jews back to Israel & that "the heathen may know that I sanctify Israel" (v28). The world continues to degenerate into godlessness, selfishness, immorality, idolatry, etc. Yet, the end is not yet as there are yet more to be saved (2 Peter 3:9). We don't know when Jesus will come; we cannot & should not set any dates. He have to be patient. We have to be alert & watching. We can watch Israel for signs & a time frame, but: Matthew 24:36.
  • Chris - in Reply on Esther 4
Gregory, you are correct that God's Name is not mentioned in the Book of Esther. And of course, the Jews, as in any era of their history, had some who obeyed God & others who didn't. However, you are correct in your observations by reading through the Book, that the evidence of God's Plan was very evident & being performed & His people were ultimately freed from their enemies (Esther 9:22).
  • Mark on John 3:16
Pray that our leaders hearts are touched by the Holy

Spirit and discover the greatness of GOD through the sacrifice of his Son that saves us all from sin.

May God's grace give us all a selfless heart and mind to lead others to discover salvation.

Praise God for all, Jesus for sacrifice and Holy Spirit for guidance.

Seek the Truth and you'll discover the light.
  • Mishael on Galatians 6
These are the scriptures that refer to angels that were with Satan. Before Satan was removed from heaven: Satan's name had been Lucifer; angels that were with him were called sons of God. They were all thrown out. Where I don't know.

It's in the Bible. I knew I had read it.

    Job 1:6; Job 2:1, Revelation 12:9 and 12:7

    2 Peter 2: 4-5 and Jude 1:6

Why would God destroy the earth with water unless something had happened at Eden. I'm not going to play a guessing game.

Eric, your name (unless it is a pseudonym) indicates that you converted to Islam. I may be wrong, but I mention that, so I could know your position, the country you hail from & more importantly what questions specifically you would like answers to, so I can properly answer. Pauline has given you some very special portions of Scripture reminding you & me of God's great love for all of us, no matter our religion & stage in life, & also of God's Gift of Salvation through the sending of Jesus Christ. However, since I have had some Muslim friends in the past when in Pakistan, & done studies in Islam, your questions become very important to me, so that I know how I should answer you. So, please detail your questions.
  • Chris - in Reply on Galatians 6
I'm in agreement, Larry. We need to take much care, not only with Gnostic influences within the Church but also in the translation of the Scriptures. Yet, I feel for those who do find the 'old' English difficult to grasp & to be reading another 'accurate' version is preferable than not reading & understanding the Scripture at all.

In my work with Muslims in Pakistan, I often asked them if they understood what they read in the Quran (note, it is incumbent on them to read it in Arabic). In almost cases, they didn't understand it, but were happy to be in that state, for in reading from the original language (Arabic), some blessing/God's Favour was supposedly received. Of course, through this ignorance, our Christian witness becomes stronger to be able to teach them Truths from the true Word of God.
  • Chris - in Reply on Galatians 6
My apologies that I wrote on Galatians 6 instead of Genesis 6. I always get tricked by the title against the name. Anyway, you have something else to think on.
  • Chris - in Reply on 1 Corinthians 14:39
Thank you Jesse for your wise perceptions & 'correct dividing of the Word'. If I could give an illustration of a false tongue (1 John 4:1). At a Church meeting, that I was told about, a brother went forward to share a Word & proceeded to speak in an unlearned language. However, no one got up to interpret, so by rights he should have ceased & taken his seat. But as he continued, another in their midst listened intently & became increasingly agitated. He went forward hurriedly to the pastor/elder to immediately shut down the speaker. The elder enquired as to why he needed to do this. The man replied, that the speaker was in fact speaking in a language he understood (i.e. an actual unlearned language was being spoken), but the content of it was a series of utter blasphemies against the Living God & His Son. The question then: how can we know the Spirit behind the tongue if an interpretation is not given; is the Church edified in any way; or, is it just a 'confirmation' of an alive Church!

Very true, Narelle. We read Scripture often piecemeal, to our shame & continuing in ignorance.
  • Chris - in Reply on Psalms 11
Sue, the word 'listen' is not often used (Isaiah 49:1). 'Hear' & "Hearken' are often used. These generally have the implied meaning to not only listen with the ears, but to do in action.
  • Chris - in Reply on Galatians 6
Jessica, Jesus is seen as a part of the Triune God (i.e. NOT three Gods, but three Persons or Personalities). And this one God in Heaven are the Father, the Word & the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). However, for the sake of the redemption of mankind, God in due time sent His Word to Earth as Jesus, His Son, to give His Life a ransom for all (read Romans chap 5). Yes, God is intimately concerned & involved in every believer's life: He gives us His Spirit to do this work after we are born again (read John chap 3 & chap 14:16-21). We hear God speak to us through His Word (2 Timothy 3:16) & His Spirit (Romans 8:16: speaks of the Spirit speaking with our spirit, so we remain in tune with God's Holy requirements for us, how to behave, where to go, what to do, how to speak, wisdom, telling another about Christ, etc). I find the King James version is the best as it has been translated from the original Text (Textus Receptus). But if you don't understand the English, then read New KJV or New American Std.

ERIC: For God so loved the World...that's everybody. Everyone has the same opportunity to draw close to God who created all we see and know. Set aside your religion for a time and explore who God says He is.

The Bible is spiritually discerned for everybody; whether Jew, Gentile, Greek, Palestinian, or middle eastern descent. It will be hard to understand until you ask God the Father to help you read it. Start in the gospel of John, chapter 3 verses 1 to 8. That's where Jesus tells you that you must be born again to understand the spiritual. Verse 3

This is how we all started. You can't sit on a fence between Muslim and Christian. I will only say that Eternal Life with the God of the universe comes through Jesus.

    1 Corinthians 15: 1-5/ Romans 10: 9-10

    Matthew 10: 32-33

What kind of person would I be to lie and not tell the truth? I had to walk this road too. I'm telling you this is the way. Joy unspeakable.
  • Bob Hilt - in Reply on Galatians 6
Read Job 38 which tells you the Sons of God shouted for joy at the foundation (creation) of the earth.

Adam did not exist until 6 days after the earth was created. So how can the sons of God be godly men?

since when do godly men marry ungodly women and then giants are born to them?

John 1:14 Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God.

Luke 3:38 Adam is called a son of God since God created him.

1 John 3:1 Believers do not become Sons of God till they are born of the Spirit.

So who was the Father of the angels? would they not be Sons of God also?

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

I know most churches will argue with me and claim Genesis 6 is not referring to angels and I say they are wrong.

when do believers and unbelievers get married and have giants for kids?

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God IN HEAVEN.
  • Jesse - in Reply on 1 Corinthians 14:39
Chris, very well said, Amen! What you just said is the reason why I believe that what is going on in our churches today is not the tongues that the bible speaks of. In fact, what is going on today as far as tongues goes, it doesn't even come close to what was happening in the early church, and the purpose God intended it to be.

My guess on why Paul said forbid not to speak in tongues was because at that time, God was giving them that ability. Therefore, at that time, it would have been right for Paul to say that.

Acts Chapter 2 is a perfect example of tongues in its proper function. The Holy Spirit fell on these men, and they spoke in tongues. What they were speaking were known languages, not known to those who were speaking, but known by those who were hearing them speak.

Most of what is going on in our churches as far as tongues goes is in complete violation of 1 Corinthians 14:22.

The Book of Isaiah, was written to (speaking to) the tribe of Judah while the ten northern tribes (Israel) were on the cusp of going into Assyrian captivity. Isaiah lived & prophesied during the reigns of Judah's kings: Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz & Hezekiah.

Jessica: best Bible for study is a King James Version with columns in the center of each page for cross referencing. Also that has a dictionary and good sized concordance. Harmony of the gospel books & maps.

I've actually found those at Goodwill that sadly got donated. I buy them and give them to anyone who says they don't have a Bible :) my favorite thing to do.

I found that the best way to study is to read a whole book at a time. Don't skip around unless you are reading the verses from that center column.

In the Harmony books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) is four Disciples that saw and heard the same things: the same thing written down by a tax collector, a doctor, etc)

I pay close attention to what Hod is saying and what Jesus is saying and doing.

We're going to be spending eternity in heaven with them, and we need to find out everything we need to know now.

When back to school sales start I get a dozen notebooks to take notes, ask questions, things to look for later.
