Hi Chris. I am very thankful for your warm thoughtful reply brother. Reading your posts shows you are very kind and close with the Lord. Just being led here, to this site, where we can post freely, is truly a Blessing. It is a gift to have others to converse about the Lord with as we are a minority in the population. God Bless you brother and thank you again for your sincere reply.
  • Sonya on Haggai 2
I think the Lord is saying during these times is to work and fear not for he will be with you, as in chapter 2:4-5. The Lord is calling his people to be holy, 2:13-14 Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these , shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. (I believe he is speaking of fornications) Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, says the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. No matter how much a person goes to church if they do not get their hearts right, that which they offer there will be unclean. In Matthew 15:19 For out of the HEART proceed EVIL thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. ***( Jesus said these are evil thoughts)*** Jesus said in Matthew 15:17-18 Do you not yet understand, that what so ever entered in at the mouth, goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things that which proceed out of the mouth come fourth from the HEART: and they defile the man. Matthew 9:3-4 And, behold, certain of the Scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, wherefore think ye EVIL in your HEARTS. Once again in Mark 2:6-8 But there were certain scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their HEARTS. Why does this man speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said to them, Why reason these things in your HEARTS? Mark 3:4-5 And he said to them is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days or to do EVIL. But they held their peace. And when he looked round about him with ANGER, BEING GRIEVED FOR THE HARDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS, he said to the man stretch fourth your hand. and he stretched it out, and his hand was restored whole as the other. READ Proverbs 4:23 about the heart, I hope this helps someone.

Hi Adam, In those circumstances that you just my opinion, it is not a Sabbath violation. People helping other people on the Sabbath is similar to what Jesus did. If you have to work to feed your family ok. There is 24 hours in a day, hopefully all the people you mentioned can still dedicate some time to still observe the Sabbath and pray and honor God. God will know, and God will make the judgement call. God Bless.
  • Andy G van den Berg on Psalms 91:7
    To Adam,

The Word of God is God (John 1:1) and is not of any private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20).

Please study why Christ performed so many miracles on the Sabbath day in front of the religious authorities of his day, who eventually crucified Him.

Please read Galatians 4:9-11. God had asked the people to worship and observe Him one day out of the week. However, the observance of the Sabbath, Circumcision, etc. was strictly a sign of obedience and faith but could not save people. The believers and followers of Christ worship Him 24/7.

Seek, and ye shall find (Matthew 7:7).

I have just one question for you seeing that this all about uplifting and speaking words of truth and encouragement, and as you have quoted man will give an account for every idle word spoken. When the Messiah ascended back into heaven; what name did the disciples and Paul preach by which man must be saved?

  • Adam - in Reply on Psalms 72
If someone's work is helping people (like a pastor, doctor, walmart greeter) and they work on the sabbath do you think that's not a violation, then?
  • Brother dan - in Reply on Psalms 72
Hi Adam, Yes Jesus did observe the Sabbath, and he taught us that there are logical exceptions, and good works that can be performed on this day. But these exceptions should not be an excuse to disregard the Sabbath, make the Sabbath another day, or minimize it within the list of 10 commandments.

There are exceptions of many things that can be performed on the Sabbath as demonstrated and taught by Jesus. These are sensible things, are circumstances like helping others, and addressing things that are emergencies or require immediate help. Feeding animals, or milking cows, helping others that need immediate attention and failure to do so would be neglect.

So yes it is true, we are taught by Jesus in many instances not to neglect anything requiring our help on the Sabbath, but at the same time he didn't cancel the importance of following the the 4th commandment, and keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. God Bless.
  • Adam - in Reply on Psalms 72
    Dear Dan,

I'm replying to your comment on the sabbath. While I agree that it would seem strange to follow only 9 of the 10 commandments, Jesus did treat the commandment about the sabbath differently than the others and there is scripture evidence that suggests the sabbath is not equal to the other commandments.

The reason is Jesus was accused of breaking the sabbath himself! If he were alive today and you saw Jesus heal someone or do some 'work', would you accuse and judge Him of it? That's what the Pharisees did and Jesus rebuked them. So, Jesus made a clear point that it's ok to do good work on the sabbath. Mark 2:27. There are also interesting verses like Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5. This shows the original reason Israelites needed to observe the Sabbath: Deuteronomy 5:15.

So, did Jesus fulfill the sabbath or did he not?

First time reading this chapter and it reminds me of scripture in the Book of Esra and Nehemiah which are two separate books that captures the return of Jews to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem as as prophesied.

I think it is quite telling that these 3 YOUNG men had enough of the love of God to believe. Where are the faithful hearts of the young men of today that they would have the will-power to withstand the forces of evil today and go through similar ordeals and remain faithful to the trust. I believe that there are those among us today that would do so. However, they are few and far between. God help us if we, as the older generation, do not cultivate an atmosphere to encourage such a powerful legacy for them to follow.
  • Stephen Lionel on 1 Esdras 1
Read this scripture first time and it seems like consistent duplication of events and personalities throughout the Holy Bible. Removing same however does not line up with God's authority and permissions. The Gospels is evidence of consistent duplications with some variations as well as the Epistles. No justification for removal!
  • Carleton - in Reply on Genesis 2:9
Dear Andy, I am not interested in your chapter 23 false gospel.

  • Andy G van den Berg on Genesis 2:9
The gospel you believe in is after man, as you follow after an image of a false god and a false Christ (Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Galatians 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Revelation 12:9).

The gospel which is preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was i taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11,12; Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Galatians 1:16; Ephesians 3:3,5; Revelation 1:1).

  • Fred Scanlan on Mark 5
Why does the holy spirit in Mark 5 not unlike all of Christs teaching, give us specific info. 3 things ,Christ ability too cast out demons,Christ ability to heal the long term sickness, and 3 to raise the dead, a 12 yr. old little girl! When i read the commentaries many equate mans sin in relation with all these. how we are all dead in tresspasses and sin, that because of sin we could very well become like the demoniac, we all are born with a long term sickness called sin. Mark records this exactly the way he recalls it. Is there something else we need to know? Are we suppose to look deeper into his words ? How are we to interpret scripture for all to understand. One thing is for sure that wherever Christ goes there is always something extraordinary that will happen. His life and what happens while here on earth is unbelievable. Perhaps these and all Christ miracles are stories that require faith, Faith is the real story, that he did all this and more. Faith will cast demons into hell. faith will heal us from the disease of sin, and truly faith will give us eternal life through him.

Hello, you do seem to have some consciousness here in life thus far in the flesh. Here is a dream from my step-father an atheist that was brave enough to ask myself and my wife about it's meaning which we could not answer.

In the dream, he had died and he found himself completely awake, and completely conscious of his existence with control of his mind. Only he was in complete darkness and completely alone, he said that in the dream he knew this as eternally.

I was perhaps where you are now in the early and late seventies when I received a dream that clearly put the fear of God within my heart to where I believed that there was a God and I feared Him. Today, I love Him through his Son Jesus.

Scientists, mathematicians, phycisists, cosmologists etc have investigated the origins of our universe for many centuries and have come to a reasonable understanding of how our local universe has developed since just microseconds after the big bang, I have a reasonable confidence in the current theories being the best models available due to the many brilliant minds who have carried out these investigations and experiments, I don't use faith.

I believe that you may be pre supposing the existence of a creator god to explain the existence of the cosmos, I reject this notion although I will not rule it out as no one knows what caused the big bang to happen. Your belief in a creator god can coexist with the science, unless of course you take the bible literally. If you could show me some evidence and not just assert that a god did it I will of course yry to investigate further.

  • Brother dan on Psalms 72
Not sure why so many people seem to be confused about the sabbath day, it is Saturday, the seventh day of the week, and is a day of rest, no work, and a day to reflect on God, pray, and give thanks. God gave this sabbath day to man, it is for us to rest and give thanks and regenerate our body and sprit and to draw closer to God.

Lastly, it is the the 4th commandment that God gave to us. I value and honor all 10 of God's commandments. It is the law! Jesus while on earth honored the sabbath day. It is Gods Law....and Jesus said in Matthew 5:17

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Let's put it in another way, are you willing to keep 9 of the commandments, and ignore one - the Sabbath? I'm not.

Comments by Alex about our old adamic nature, we answer to the RED HEIFER we need to be burnt to ashes.remember the ashes of a heifer. but now we are the heifer, the Church answers to Red Heifer, our old adamic nature which is our carnal minds needs to be burnt to ashes at the door of the tabernacle ( our hearts ).Remember he said he wd not leave them root nor branch, nothin is gonna be left of our adamic nature, our carnal minds that we use to go lusting after everthing we see. We need that baptism of fire as our God is a consuming fire which is gonna come via his word,You are made clean by the word i have spoken unto you, But his word is the fire as Jeremiah said. I'm talking bout judgement as our God is a consuming fire anythime you read about baptism of fire thats his judgement whom the lord loveth he chaseth, thank God for that lake of fire its simply a lake of Gods spirit AS OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE , AKA AS THAT RIVER OF LIFE.DANIEL SAW 3 MEN IN THAT RIVER OF LIFE. Who shall abide the day of his coming , Who shall stand when he appears ,for he shall be as a REFINERS FIRE AND FULLERS SOAP that might offer up our bodies as a living sacrifice , This is Gods judgement that we so need, which is his baptism of fire, behold i come to bring fire on the earth, which is his baptism of fire, which is his word that is his fire as the word makes us clean its his fire that is gona make us clean. The great judge is the H.G. REMEMBER SOLOMON WAS THE GREATEST JUDGE IN THE O.T. And Solomon means Comforter symbolic of the H.G. AND FIRE that IS GONA MAKE OUR BODIES HIS TEMPLE. But his temple has to be made clean thus his baptism of fire. Always remember our God is a consuming fire that is gonna consume our adamic nature, our carnal minds etc. we are gonna have the mind of Christ, We need judgement, which is his baptism of fire and the H.G. WE ANSWER TO THE RED HEIFER. HEIFER IMPLIES FEMALE THE CHURCH IS FEMALE BUT WE ARE STILL RED WITH SIN. That which is perfect has not come
