The first recording of the teaching of the "rapture" was by Ephraem the Syrian in his most recently found and translation book entitled "Antichrist and the End of the World" in 373AD.

GOD bless everyone in CHRIST name.

return with him to Jerusalem! Not to Jerusalem, But to Paradise to be judged for all things done good or bad. Then if we are worthy, its on to Heaven.

Why is this in Acts 27 ?

I'd did not post it to acts 27 .

Also this is in reference to the true catching up to meet the lord on the LAST DAY according to Jesus John 6 verse 39, 40 among others .
  • Bob Grove - In Reply on Acts 27:9 - 3 years ago
In all the bible references to the so called rapture or what ever you want to call it. They are in true reference to the Dead in Christ shall rise then we which are a live and shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and return with him to Jerusalem!

Job said I will see my redeemer in the flesh ! How interesting!

The word Rapture is not in the scripture but it is inferred in 1 Thes. 4.16-18!

The Words Holy Trinity also not in scripture but they too are inferred in Matthew 28.19 and 1John 5-7.

There is a catching up to be with the Lord when Jesus returns in the clouds just as he left according to the Angels . But in the Glory of God as well .

No secret Rapture it's not found in the bible . Every eye shall see him ! Amen even so come Lord Jesus !!!

    Rev 20 v 6

This is the First resurrection, Jesus said in John ch 6 He is the resurrection. This happens on the last day , prior to the Lords 2nd coming , same time or day . The wicked are destroyed and Jesus rules out of Jerusalem, Israel now is under his Reign. The promise is fulfilled

The Pretribulation rapture of the church cannot be found in the bible . Because it's a heresy . I have been to churches that fully are indoctrinated with this so I heard just about all there is to it , it still is not in the bible .

My conclusion is they are confusing the first resurrection with the so called Rapture 7 yrs before the tribulation .

It started by jN Darby of the Plymouth brethren about 1830 s. . Yes I attended these churches for quite a while so I heard it all ! Still not found in the Bible after 45 yrs reading it prayerfully . Yes at one time I believed it until I started reading my Bible for myself .

Thank God for the truth that sets us free if we continue in it ! Amen

If we trust in God's Word, He will bring us through every situation no matter how bad it seems. (Is.14:24) says God's purpose always prevail and never fail and ( Prov. 19:21) says, there are many devices in a man's heart, nevertheless, the Lord's counsel shall stand.

Peter; the "covering cast over all the Nations;" which is the darkness and perversion of the heathen mind; is to blame for men's "natural tendencies" to pride in spiritual ignorance, and disesteem of wisdom and knowledge of the holy: "for they say, that the old wine is better." To this same arrogancy and worldly spirit did Paul command to "set them to judge who are least esteemed in the Assembly."
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Acts 27 - 6 years ago
The disciple: Yes, it is very interesting. This human nature has persisted even today as we are apt to trust our "experts", refusing to trust the omniscient God, absolutely, for guidance. We think we know more than the Creator and trust our own understanding. Paul proved that this should not be so as he demonstrated the might of the power from above.
  • A disciple on Acts 27 - 6 years ago
Peter; isn't it interesting, how those in charge set aside the guidance and opinion of the one who really was in a position to advise them; choosing instead, their own "experts?" Afterwards when all was a disaster, still the man of God stands forth in calmness and fatherly patience and authority about their misguided adventure, with the gentlest rebuke and words of hope and encouragement from God.

God showed Paul that all in the ship will be saved and they were. God's Word is yeah and Amen.
  • Charles B Mountain on Acts 27 - 6 years ago
verse 31 is the key verse to the chapter,"except these abide in the ship, they will be lost!"-the church is the ship"

WHAT A WONDERFUL THING IS GODS PROECTING POWER.LORD I PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY TODAY.
  • Betty Lee on Acts 27 - 8 years ago
yes the problems in life are overwhelming but as this Passage of scriptures instructs us that God is the way and looking to Him to save us is the one and only way to safety.
  • Olumide on Acts 27:22 - 8 years ago
Assurance of divine protection for believers. In your family, church and work place there shall be no loss of any man 's life.
  • Anne on Acts 27 - 8 years ago
Paul knew that his purpose was not yet fulfilled therefore he was able to speak with assurance that all who stayed with him in the ship their lives would be saved.
  • Shirley on Acts 27 - 9 years ago
They that are lead by the spirit are the sons and daughters of God
  • Nicola on Acts 27 - 9 years ago
Whose report hath they believed? They took counsel from men rather than Paul who had the ability to speak the oracle of God . Surely we see that flesh will fail you. God is omniscient and we ought to hear Him and eat the good of the land Too often we ignore God and hence all the chaos in our world.
  • Steve Montgomery on Acts 27:21 - 9 years ago
We see here that is ok to tell folk, "I told you so "
  • Christian on Acts 27 - 10 years ago
It is good to hearken unto the voice of the men of God as directed by the Spirit of God.

I believe this is where the naming of storms, hurricanes, earthquakes etc came from, every thing is derived from the bible, for example"hurricane Katrina"this is.one of my thoughts of Acts27:14
  • Carliss green on Acts 27 - 10 years ago
This is a powerful passage of scripture it encourages us to keep our head up even in the midst of a storm never give up and never give in!!!
  • Randy on Acts 27 - 10 years ago
I love versus 20 - 23 when all hope was taken away that they would be saved. Paul spoke out of FAITH and declared the Lords promise to save them. Even though the their situation did not look favorable Paul chose to believe God anyway. This chapter will teach you how look past what you are seeing and dare to believe God for the victory.
  • P/E. Peter Patrick on Acts 27:10 - 10 years ago
Paul said "I Perceive" truely it was the help of inward witness and the fear of God that was in Him he sense it that something danger want's to happen and He never confused the people by saying to them the Spirit of the Lord to me. He said, I perceive. How did he perceive it? By the inward witness. He did not perceive it mentally. He did not perceive it physically. In his spirit he had this wintness. Compare to this days men of God tha doesn't have the fear of God will punp-up out that the Lord told me that there is danger in order for those that are with such man of God to respect his voice. Remember that the primay way God leads His children is by the inward witness..... Acts 27:9-10
  • Bernita on Acts 27 - 11 years ago
How to make it when all your pieces are broken. The easy way to come Back is when you have resources. We find ourselves coming back to broken pieces. God has never been intimidated, all God wants you to do is have faith. No matter how broken your situation is God has always a promise for you. Storms are not going to call you, you have to learn how to anticipate. If youre coming out of storm you need to tell God thank you. You need to learn how to pray before you get in trouble, not when you in trouble. The enemy wants to stop you with a storm, but God promises there is no way he will let the enemy put you in storm. God's going to put your pieces back together only if you have faith and believe in God's promises. Without faith it is impossible to believe God's promises. Your faith will determine your future. The purpose of your storm is to draw you closer to God and to see God in your life.
  • Faith on Acts 27 - 11 years ago
It shows that God is always there, even in the violent waves and He greatly cares.
  • Mariec on Acts 27 - 11 years ago
Paul shows his faith even if everything was not on his side. When God is in control don't panic! He will direct you. Paul verse 44 is a good end.
