You only need the English King James Version. It is the Scriptures in English. When you need the Hebrew or Greek translation, God will let you know. For example see Revelation 9:11, etc.
  • Dzramado for verse 36
I get more confused about the truth of translations and the meaning of greek translation,

Amen brother Jacob 's comment on 3 13 2015, 9:52 am... Right on. They just can 't see the Apostle Paul was given the Gospel of the Grace of God through His only Son 's Jesus Christ, Birth, Death and Resurrection. Ephesians Ch. 3, VS.1 thru 8.

When Peter quotes Joel in verse 21 neither he nor Joel, at this point, knew the things involved in a Blood atonement for sinners, applied to the soul by a spiritual circumcision Colossians 2:11-12 . Paul wasn 't saved yet so the mystery wasn 't revealed yet see Eph chapter 3. Repentance and remission of sins Luke 24:47 is known to them but only in the context of John 's baptism cf. Mark 1:4,Acts 2:38. When Peter is in Cornelius ' hime, he is quite startled to learn that REMISSION OF SINS can be obtained by belief alone see Acts 10:45. This shows that a thing can be there without being known, and that the time of revelation of truth has little to do with the ORIGIN of truth. Acts 2:38 contradicts church age doctrine revealed to the apostle Paul Ephesians 3 . You are saved today by putting your faith and trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The gospel or good news of the Church Age is in 1 Cor 15:1-4 with no water baptism mentioned.

Acts 2 is the birth of the church. Peter stood up with the eleven other Apostles, including the new one. Matthew was present when Peter stood up to preach just as he was in Mathew 28:18-20 which says the eleven was the ones being spoken to. Note: Eleven Mathew did not pull Peter 's Coat tail and demand Peter to cease this Jesus Name Water Baptism. 1 Mattew was pined some 20 years after the events of Acts 2. 2 Acts 2:38 was preached as written for more than 40 years in the Act 's history of the church. 3 Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-7 Paul clearly preaches the same message of Jesus Christ. Repentance, Water baptism in Jesus Name, Baptism of Spirit. Water Baptism was deluted with doctrines of Rome and of men in the 2nd and 3rd century. All records bible and history state that the Apostles agreed on the method and mode of Water baptism in the Name of Jesus up until about the 2nd and 3rd century. It is clear that this was and still is the True Good News of the Founding True fathers of The Early Church!

Hi Everyone, Do it for your own soul cause if you do not obey the scriptures as the command comes from JESUS himself in Matthew 16:17-19 giving the commission to Peter you will loose your soul and the day of Pentecost Peter spoke and told what must everyone do to be saved in Acts 2. It 's real it 's real and you will never regret that you took the time to yourself and prayed to God above on your Knees asking him to search your heart and cleanse you from all of your sins and of course ask for the Holy Ghost I dare any sincere hearted person to do just what I said, you will begin to fill his presence come upon you but don 't be afraid just keep praying until he fill your soul with this Precious Holy Ghost just try it for your own soul, how could you go wrong talking to the only God above ? God bless everyone!!

In the translators to the reader in the front of most King James Bibles a quote says "I do not admit that which thou bringest in of thine own head or store without Scripture. The quote on 3 9 2015 quotes no Scripture. Jesus is not a little g god, He is the Almighty Revelation 1:8. Jesus name water baptism of Acts 2:38 saves on one today. That is before the church age doctrines were revealed to Paul see Eph chapter 3. They were allowed to be added to the Church vs 41 but Acts is a transitional book from the Law to grace. He allowed them in that way because the Kingdom Acts 1:6 was still being offered to Israel until the stoning of Stephen in chapter 7. Notice Acts 2:38 isn 't preached again. Peter himself by Acts 15 realizes the shift from law to grace in verses 9-11.
  • Derick perry for verse 38
A person can not be saved without being filled with the holy ghost and there is no other name given by which we must be saved Jesus the name Jesus is god and god all by himself . Now baptism in Jesus name gives you this promise and god is not slack concerning his promises. Here 's another secret though its all about your heart and where u are concerning repentance the holy ghost is not given just because you are baptized in Jesus name its given when you truly want it and you break down sorrowfully humbly realizing your desperate need for Jesus to save your soul this can happen with out baptism look at john and the thief on the cross the lord can and will save who he so chooses and who humbly seeks him above and beyond all things although without his name there is no power and there is no promise it is a lot less likely for you to come into the truth and truly accept Jesus the name the one lord and the one baptism
  • Calvin Nokes
I loved this part because it 's true, I need to save myselve from this untoward generation.
  • Rudy Moreno for verse 38
In Acts 2:39 it explains that a person has to be "called " by the Lord JESUS our GOD , to receive this truth ! ..
  • God' Woman-
Jesus, Himself told Nicodemus, in St John 3:1-7, "Marvel Must be born again, of the water and the Spirit-Holy Ghost. Peter, in Acts 2:37-39, was speaking to the people the gospel of Jesus Christ-repentance for the remission of sins, whereby all men must be saved. Then, you Shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.Sinners want to know what 's wrong with Christians today. We-Christians have to repent, daily, and do our first works over-preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, through repentance-foundational messages. Countless souls die, daily, so we have to speak the life of Jesus Christ into people. May Gods ' tried and true Saints continue to hold up the blood-stained banner for the Lord. I, too am salvaged goods-redeemed by the blood of Jesus from drinking, sexual promiscuity, partying, and all things I THOUGHT I was grown enough to do. I committed my selfish will to God 's will for my life, for Holy is the way.
  • Belinda for verse 4
The word was both touching and encouraging at the same time..we give God all The glory.

In Acts 7: 51-60 is where Stephen was trying to tell everyone about the Lord and they stoned him to death cause he called them saying Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: As of today to many people are listing to those that have no structure in there own lives but we have to be honest with ourselves first in order to get to God in truth. Acts 2:38-47 is really real it has been real for over 16 years in my life. After receiving the Holy Ghost I no longer smoke, use drugs or alcohol anymore! Hallelujah

Hello everyone to know the truth of God word, Jesus gave the keys to Peter in Matthew 16:18-19 and on the day of Pentecost Peter used those keys when he was asked a question What must we do ? In Acts 2:36-47 read these scriptures and with a sincere heart get to a private place to pray and ask God if this Holy Ghost is real today ? Repent for all of yours sins first then ask him if it 's real to allow you to be filled with his spirit which is the Holy Ghost. I promise you will not regret it, whats wrong with trying it for yourself or how can you go wrong talking to the one upon the throne ? Do it for your own soul. Stay in prayer asking for God presence and don 't be afraid. God Bless everyone!
  • Barbara Curtis Jones for verse 20
just randomly chose this for my verse today, but so fitting because so much hatred and chaos in the world today, must trouble and distress Jesus just as all ppl who love HIM. God bless us all

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. I Corinthians Chapter 1 Vs. 23 24. and in I Corinthians Chapter 2 V. 2 says. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Jesus himself is a word of God, He who accept God 's words and fix his eyes on Jesus will have life. Once we invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in us we will understand his words. Through Jesus death by sheding his blood our sins are cleanse and forgiven, He always confirmed his love and mercy to us by healing us, forgiving our sins and bring us to life, this is the signs, wonders, and miracles that God has provided us. We must believe Jesus that He is the Son of the Living God, the only way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except thru Jesus. Jesus loves us, Everything is possible with Christ and he is attractive to wipe our tears.. there is no need to understand the theory how and why God blesses us.. Only believe him that Jesus is the Son of the living God.. Give thanks and praised him for everything he has done to us..

To Joni Gs, Acts 2 Chapter comment on 2 05 2015, 1:40 PM. You said I am going to do what Jesus says and not some convoluted other partial way. Well are you casting out devils now like Mark 16: V.17 says or taking up serpents or drinking any deadly things like in verse 18. You need to be a missionary and go to the Middle East and convert ISIS, I bet they would not give you anything deadly to drink. Honestly all in love you need to read C.I. Scofield 's 1917 Ref. Bible page 1069 notes 16 9.
  • Joni G
When Jesus asked the disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel in the great commission in Mark 16:15-16 and Matthew 28-19-20, He didn 't say make disciples of believers and baptize Jews only. He didn 't say belief is enough for Gentiles. I am going to do what Jesus says and not some convoluted other partial way.

None of those verses say that when we are water baptized WE COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE SAVING BLOOD. That is adding to the scripture. Romans 6, water isn 't in the passage, nor in Galatians 3. Concerning 1 Pt 3:21, If you are not in the ark first Hebrews 11:7, Colossians 3:3 the water will send you to hell like the multitude on the broad road in Genesis 7. That passage also says that water baptism is a FIGURE. See the definition for a figure in Romans 5:14, Hebrews 9:9. A figure wont save you but it will send you to hell faster than a greased bullet.
  • Joni G
We all know that God is Sovereign, his Son Jesus is the only Way to Heaven and we are saved by Jesus blood. There is life in the blood. By faith, when we are baptized into His death, we come into contact with the saving blood. Romans 6:3-4 Galatians 3:27 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:15-16
  • Joni G
Thank you Jacob. Jesus is wonderful. He died for you, me the entire world when none of us deserved it. It is evident that we all love Him dearly.
  • Jacob
Verse 39 is a reference to Daniel 9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day to the men of Judah, MATCHES Acts 2:14 YE MEN OF JUDAEA, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, MATCHES Acts 2:14 AND ALL YE TAHT DWELL AT JERUSALEM, and unto all Israel, MATCHES Acts 2:22 YE MEN OF ISRAEL, that are near, and that are FAR OFF, THIS MATCHES Acts 2:39 AND TO ALL THAT AFAR OFF, Ephesians 2:13-17 wasn 't available to anyone until after Acts 28. Paul wasn 't even saved yet and the MYSTERY of the church wasn 't revealed yet See Ephesians 3:1-9. Those afar off and their children are the Jews of the dispersion who are represented at Pentecost by the list given in verses 6-11. I hope this helps. Much prayer is needed.
  • Joni G
Look at verse 39. When we are baptized into Christ 's death for the remission of sins, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This was for the Jews that day, their children and all those far off, even as many as God will call. I was called. I was baptized after I believed. This is still true today. Praise God!
  • Jacob
We need to see the verse where it SAYS, Jesus Christ is the name of the Father. The name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are the Lord. Here are the verses to back that up. You know the Father is called LORD in the O.T. In the N.T. Jesus is called Lord Philippians 2:11. The Holy Ghost is called Lord in 2 Cor 3:17. Gentiles are baptized in the name of the Lord in Acts 10:48. You have the baptism of John the Baptist in Acts 2:38 and that is not the gospel by which we are saved today. Acts is a transitional book and has several different ways by which people received the Holy Spirit. In the Church age you receive the Holy Spirit by faith alone Ephesians 2:8-9.
  • Matthew for verse 38
The name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is Jesus Christ! He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!
  • Kasturi jane for verse 3
tongues are nothing but languages.i think god wanted the gosple to be preached to the world and so gave the deciples the power to speak in all the different languages of the world through the holy spirit.
  • Jacob
In the books of Acts there are several ways that an individual is saved. The reason is Acts is a transitional book. In Acts 2 people are saved with water baptism added, in Acts 8 hands are laid, in Acts 10 they are saved before water baptism, then in Acts 16:31 believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Baptism in the name of the Lord mentioned in Acts 10 is the baptism for today. The Lord is what the Father is called in the O.T. The Lord is the name of Jesus Christ see Philippians 2:11. Then the Holy Ghost is called Lord, Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Jesus name baptism of Acts 2:38 is Jewish baptism and Jews and proselytes are the only ones addressed in that chapter. Anyone preaching Acts 2:38 is preaching a false gospel for today. If you want to apply verse 38 for today why don 't you apply verse 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. Rightly divide your Bible 2 Tim 2:15 or it will divide you Hosea 6:5.
  • Jacob
This gospel being preached in Acts 2 is that of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the same gospel that John the Baptist preached. Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. The kingdom was still being offered to the Jews because of Jesus ' prayer to THE FATHER, a member of the Godhead Romans 1:20,Colossians 2:9, Acts 17:29, in Luke 23.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Acts 7 Jesus is standing at the right hand of the FATHER. I don 't see how you don 't see the Godhead in the Scripture. Jesus is standing because He was ready to come back if they would have received his message as a nation. That 's what He said would happen. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. They rejected the message and God went to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul. The Gospel for today is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4 and no water baptism or tongues are mentioned. Acts 2:38 is cursed for today Galatians 1:8-9. Why? It 's not for us today.
  • Joni G
Help us Holy Father God to obey Christ, the Word! We will be judged by what we did with His words!
