Mathew 28:19 the command was given. Acts2:38, the command was carried out. Baptism is in the name of Jesus Christ. The doctrine to be preached and taught is the Apostles doctrine Acts2:42
  • Richard Solis on Acts 2 - 5 years ago
Acts 2:38 is the answer, the experience of scripture is true, if Jesus Christ saved the 120 in the upper room, that same experience is the same for us today, if we will believe the scripture as it says, note Cornelius the Gentile, are we not gentiles? God has gathered both the Jews and Gentiles into one fold. Glory to God!!
  • John Stribling SR on Acts 2 - 5 years ago
This is good food for the soul thank you
  • Bro Minister wint on Acts 2 - 5 years ago
Act 2:38 is an example for us to follow, we cannot say that we do not need to repent of our sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ as the apostle Peter declared on the day of Pentecost when they were filled with the Holy Ghost about 120 of them. If they had disobeyed the Lord Jesus command, He was have corrected Peter before sending him to Cornelius house in acts Chapter 10.

  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 5 years ago
To anyone that posts comments on what they read. If someone has posted something that may not be exactly how you see scriptures, instead of attacking them, take another look at what they are saying and in prayer and love look for a way to help clear up any misunderstanding, so that the person hears God through the conversation not you.
  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 5 years ago
When the scripture says that others heard this and were in doubt saying what does this mean, it sounds like the people were confused, so God had Peter there to tell these and the ones that were mocking that these could hear , these are not drunk as you suppose, to clearly define yes the wonderful works of God in Christ and to shut the mouth of the enemy that was coming out of mockers.
  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Redeemed (cont.); Of all that is written here about how the multitudes were amazed and wondered; why is it that Peter (in the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit) singles out the ones mocking, to begin to testify? It wasn't to "clear up the confusion," about "spiritual" drunkenness! That is an irreverent and (forgive me) idiotic suggestion! The point is "THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF GOD" in Christ!
  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
I believe that is exactly what i said, the verse was not in any way saying that the Holy Ghost gives one the actions of a drunkard. Maybe with everything running together it was hard to decipher that. Not sure but the Lord knows what I meant.
  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Redeemed; Very foolish and heathen thought! To those who love the darkness everything clean and holy is abomination to them, and they fear not to speak evil of dignities and too high for them. The actions of one filled with the Holy Ghost are NOT LIKE A DRUNKARD, but of soberness! I have a Word for you. "Cease, my son, from hearing the words of them that cause you to err from the words of truth."
  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
These are not drunk as you suppose was not saying they are drunk but not on alcohol but on the Holy Ghost which gives you the same actions as a drunkard. The people did not understand what was going on to hear these people speak in a language tbat was not native to them and since some didn't they said their drunk on wine that was their way of explaining this. So Peter cleared up the confusion.
  • Alex on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
At the tower of Babylon all their languages was changed,It was mass confusion but when the day of Pentecost was fullly come all their languages became common,no matter what country they were from they all understood each others language by tHE GIFT OF THE H.G. Amazing,Are we not in that situation today everybody is speaking a different language spritually speaking is not religion become confusion
  • Vera Ship on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
This verse is saying for us to be remorseful for the things we have done in life. Repent and confess are two different meanings. To repent is as I said in the beginning and confess is to acknowledge your sin but not saying you will do it again. When you receive the Holy Spirit it helps you and guide you through those things you repented of so you will have the strength no to do it again.
  • Julai Wilson on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
I became a Christian with this verse!!! Acts 2:38 indeed has soul saving power! Saved my soul since 2007
  • Orlando on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Contrary to popular beleif, Repentance is a step, a pillar and the agent unto the covenant God has given us as prophesied in Joel 2:12-14 This repentance, Has NEVER equated salvation. It suffices the requirement of the LAW, Baptism suffices the requirement of Promise, and tounges suffices the requirement of the Sign. These three are made one in us, LAW,Atonement and Charity.

    Acts 2:38 Amen.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Only our Heavenly abba daddy can put us all back on the very same page of the accurate Rightly Divided Word of the Truth and thats just what HE alone can do in these latter days in this Kingdom of God {Love-Salvation-Grace-Full Restoration in the Holy Ghost} once again as promised. The latter rain belongs to His chosen elect beloved Judah Holy Zion to be made of the Temple Made Without Hands amen.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
I am not your enemy a disciple though at first you sure treated me so. Sure. Their are those of us who know more and are sharper than others Rightly Dividing the Word but it was never meant to be that way. Only our Heavenly abba daddy can do this and YES HE WILL in these latter days before the Kingdom of God closes our Brother. Shalom.
  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Stephen Z; I just want to point out to you that though part of what you write is accurate and correct according to the Scriptures; a better knowledge of the entire history with respect to God's plan for man, shows more than what you say; and we have a tendency to negate the importance of the things done in past ages because our perception of history is so short. Maybe we can work together on this?
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Dear a disciple. I do not have any theories but the Rightly Divided Word of the truth itself and I back it. We still abide in the Kingdom of God which began at the Day of Pentecost Acts through Jude period. The Kingdom of God is and always has been a temporary age of the Gentiles which transitions back to the Kingdom of Heaven or Revelation. Its called accuracy a disciple. Shalom.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Not long after the first century church two churchs or brides of the gentiles had evolved. The Apostate and Backsliding brides. Save but for His chosen elect beloved Judah holy Zion God will send the greater than John for our Blessed Lord Christ YESHUA is Glorified seated at Gods Right Hand amen. This Elijah Restores and Prepares His True and Genuine Bride once more unto His Everlasting Glory.
  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Stephen Z; You are missing something major in your "theories." The kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven is the same thing; and it is the announced glad tidings of Christ having come in the flesh, and the fulfillment manifested in the lives of the Saints of Jesus. The times of the Gentiles started when the kingdom was forfeited to Nebuchadnezzar, and will be removed at the Day of Christ.
  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Alex; The kingdom of God does not come with observation; neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, Lo, there! for the kingdom of God is within you! "Let him that teaches WAIT on teaching!" "Verily I say to you, We speak that we do KNOW, and testify that we have seen; and no man receives our testimony!" Yet the fool is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can render him a reason. PRAY Psalm 119!
  • ALEX on Acts 2 - 6 years ago

  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Praise the Lord my God amen indeed. This day had had marked the entry into the Kingdom of God age = Gentiles. Proof positive that both John the baptist and Christ YESHUA had closed out the Kingdom of heaven or Old Testament age. Speaking in Tongues = Christ in You = the true and genuine Temple made without hands = Acts through Jude. We are now the latter days church age. Shalom beloved Judah Zion.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 6 years ago
Speaking in Tongues is and always has been the norm of the new birth which is { Christ in you } made of the true and genuine Temple made without hands unto His Everlasting Glory amen indeed. This is what the Word says and this is what it means. From the book of Acts through unto the book of Jude we are the latter days church in the Kingdom of God. Shalom!

Baptism is one step closer to getting into heaven the next step is speaking in other tongues wish only god well understands you are baptized with the holy ghost 1Corinthians14 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him." also you would have to start living a holy life to take care of your body because it is gods temple. 1Corth619
