Hello Gerandene and Jacob, Romans Chapter 16 verse 25 says, Now to Him that is of power to establish you according to My Gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the MYSTERY, which was kept secret since the world began, THE MY GOSPEL is the Gospel of Grace given to Paul, the reveling of the MYSTERY was the CHURCH given to the Apostle Paul, the Church given to Paul only, that was a secret since the world began. Why would I say that? The Kingdom Gospel was prophesied from Exodus Ch. 19,v.6 till Calling of Paul. If the Church would not have been kept secret it would have confused all the Apostle and least 8000 more in Acts Ch. 2,38. So brother and sister in Christ you 've got it right, have a happy year.

Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but new ye say, WE SEE therefore your sin remaineth.

Amen Gerandene, it 's so sad. They don 't realize that the kingdom offer is still there until Acts 7. So the gospel of the kingdom is still being preached in Acts 2:38 which is a different gospel Gal 1:8-9 than we preach. Paul is the apostle for the church age Rom 11:13,16:4, 1Tim 2:7. 2Tim 1:1, 2:7. We, like Paul preach the gospel of the grace of God Acts 20:24 and are saved by grace through faith and it is NOT OF WORKS. If you want to obey the gospel Trent Romans 16:16 says, But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report? Not Chatauna. Acts 2:38 is not our gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is.

Hello Chatauna Robinson, I was lead to the Lord through the Holy Spirit by a well known Preacher over 35 years ago. I thought I might be of some help to you. I know I was Saved back then and I 've seen too many things that I know the Lord has worked in my life. I was Saved by Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ 's Cross alone. I 'm signing off Acts Ch. 2,v. 38 most likely for good. Have a Happy New Year.
  • John Hawks on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
In verse 38 its obvious.....to have your sins remitted you have to REPENT....turn away from your sinful life and be BAPTIZED...FULLY EMERSED...PLAIN AND SIMPLE....wash away your sins to walk in newness of life....a new creature....No Jews or Gentils....just Christians! Remember the story of Philip and the Eunuch...the Eunuch was taught about Jesus and rejoiced after Baptizim. Notice that in Vs 41 they Gladly Recevied the teaching and then were Baptized. Notice Vs 47 that only God adds to his church those who Obey his teachings....no man or church should vote on you being a member. To God be the Glory Forever! Amen

Hello Jacob and Geraldene There were not only Jews there on the day of Pentecost, but there were Gentiles there as well, strangers of Rome, proselytes converted to Judaism, Cretes and Arabians. Those who follow Acts 2 38 we are not blind to the Bible. Like Paul the scales fell from our eyes when God filled us with the Holy Ghost either before the baptism or after the baptism and now we see very clearly.

Hello Brother Jacob 's comment on 12 19 2014,3 12pm... You spoke the Truth if I 've ever Heard it but I 'm beginning to think no one online on Acts 2,38 can understand it. They have eyes but they can 't see.

Hello Geraldene In addition to my comment. The Dispensation of the Law ended with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Romans 10 4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth ".
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Part 2 of 2 In regard to the Beatitudes, Jesus did teach while the Dispensation of Law which is the fifth dispensation was still in place, however, what he taught was concerning the saved. Remember the Bible is written to the saved. A person can be sweet, meek, and humble. A person can be morally and ethically sound, but if these people do not get saved according to Acts 2 38 under this dispensation of Grace they are lost. A person cannot get into heaven or see heaven except they be born of water and spirit. Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice therefore it is not required for animal sacrifice anymore. I have not read in Revelation where that will be a requirement during the 1000 years of peace.

Part 1 of 2 Hello Geraldene I am not sure where you are going with this question, however in regard to John the Baptist Jesus Christ was paying tribute to John the Baptist only in Matthew 11 9 thru 15. Paul in Ephesians 3 9 was showing humility and self abasement. Now if you are asking me if they are both going to heaven, the answer is yes. Remember John the Baptist was under the law therefore he did not have to follow Acts 2 38. Paul did because lived to see the Grace Age which we are in now.
  • Geraldene on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
To Chatauna Robinson, Since the Beatitudes is Law and the Kingdom of Christ 1000 years Reign is going to be Animal Sacrifices that must be law too because Christ is going to rule with the rod of Iron. My question is in Matthew CH. 11 v. 11. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist notwithstanding, he that is least in kingdom of heaven is greater than he, could this not be the Apostle Paul because they both are in heaven now for Paul says he is the least of all as much as two times?

Hello Jerry M. Leonard In addition to my two part response that I hope will come out today or tomorrow, please read the response I gave to Susan Rush under Matthew 10, dated 12 24 14 concerning the Dispensation of Grace that we are living in now. Also Israel was in part blinded so that we, the Gentiles, could be grafted in, Romans 11 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. This did not mean that there would not be any Jews to follow Acts 2 38, because the 120 were Jews. As I stated to Geraldene Leonard, there were and are Jews that are truly saved according to Acts 2 38.
  • Trent on Acts 2:38 - 9 years ago
The book of Hebrews explains what it means to obey the gospel which is Christ 's death burial and resurrection. Please read it. It is very clear that baptism is how we put on Christ. It is not a work but is an act of obedience.

Part 2 of 2 When the rapture takes place those who have put on the name of Jesus Christ by following Acts 2 38 they will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, 1 Thessalonians 4 12 thru 18. Jesus stated except a man be born of water and spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God, John 3 5. Jesus also stated that unless a man be born of water and spirit he cannot see the kingdom of God, John 3 3. Then Peter gave clarification on the Day of Pentecost with Acts 2 38.

Part 1 of 2 Hello Jerry M. Leonard If you recall the conversation between Peter and Jesus Christ in Matthew 16 17 thru 19, Jesus told Peter that he would give him the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Acts 2 38 are those keys. A person has to repent, be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance. This is the covenant that was spoken of in Isaiah 28 11 Joel 2 28 Jeremiah 31 33 and 34 Ezekiel 36 26 and 27.
  • Jerry M. Leonard on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
To Chatauna Robinson, What you don 't seem to understand is Acts 2, v.38 is the Gospel of the Kingdom to be set up on this Earth not the Gospel of Grace given to the Apostle Paul to get into Heaven. It was a Jewish Feast Day for Jews only and after Christ went back to Heaven it was the Holy Spirit calling for Christ 's Kingdom to be set up in Israel through Peter and the other Apostles. Read Acts Ch. 1 v.6. Right before Christ went back to Heaven Peter ask Christ was He going to set up His Kingdom at that time, meaning like it was when Solomon was ruling. Christ could not tell Peter any other answer except it 's not for you to know. Why because all of Israel had to accept Christ as their Messiah. That 's the reason Christ said it 's in the Father hands so to speak. Then if you read Acts Ch. 3, vs.19 thru 21 if the nation of Israel would have received Christ as their Messiah they would had the Kingdom on earth then but God the Father knew they would not.

Hello Geraldene Leonard and Jacob Let me clarify something I posted before the 5 part answer I gave also. We are to teach Acts 2 38 under this dispensation which is the Grace Age. We are to teach about the rapture along with the other parts of the Bible. We are to teach about what is to come so that people will be warned about the tribulation. Because once the rapture takes place Acts 2 38 will no longer be an option for anyone to get saved. People will have to make a choice of either taking the mark of 666 or getting their head chopped off.

Part 5 of 5 God is the only one that knows whether or not a person has truly repented then he gives out his gift. Samaria was a Jewish City. This is where some more Jews were filled with the Holy Ghost after Acts 2 38 was stated, Acts 8 14 thru 17. Then God had Philip meet the Eunuch and baptize him and he went on his way rejoicing. Paul who was filled with the Holy Ghost, Acts 9 18. Then you come to the first Gentiles, Acts 10 44 thru 48. I wrote more on this subject of baptism under John Chapter 4. There are 10 parts. Number 8 is out of sequence.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Part 4 of 5 On the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost fell which was prophesied in Isaiah 28 11 Joel 2 28 and 29 this was what was spoken of in Jeremiah 31 33 and 34 remember his conversation is only with the Jews this time Gentiles were grafted in when he foretold of the New Covenant and Ezekiel 36 26 and 27. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Part 3 of 5 How we know that it was Jews that the Holy Ghost fell on was because this was the Jewish festival of Shavuoth. This was a time when Jerusalem would have been filled with Jews from all the surrounding lands who had come with great anticipation to meet with the Lord the meaning of the appointed times listed in Leviticus 23 Jewish people of that time had a keen sense of this. Also there were some Gentiles there, strangers from Rome and proselytes a proselytes are Jewish converts noun a person newly converted to a religious faith or sect a convert, esp. a gentile converted to Judaism.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Part 2 of 5 The first Jews that were saved were those in the upper room. Then Peter spoke they were pricked in their hearts symbolizing repentance, it touched their hearts, Acts 2 37. Then they were baptized and three thousand were added to the church, Act 2 41. The church of God is made up of true believers that have followed Acts 2 38. So when the scripture states that three thousand souls were added one can deduce that they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Then when you look at Acts 2 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Remember a person is counted saved once they follow Acts 2 38.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Part 1 of 5 Hello Geraldene Leonard I have never stated that you had to be baptized first before receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. God judges the heart. Therefore, a person can repent either before the baptism or after the baptism. The point is that God is the only one that can give this gift to a person. Once you have truly repented the gift is given. God cannot lie, Hebrews 6 18. The significance is that baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost is the water and spirit that you must be born again in order to get into the kingdom of heaven. This is what Jesus Christ spoke about to Nicodemus.

Hello Geraldene Leonard and Jacob I would like to address the first part about Paul. Paul did try to go unto the Jews first after his conversion. However, because Paul had a reputation of killing Jews the Jews rejected Paul and sought to kill him, Acts 9 17 thru 30. Then let s fast forward, Paul then tried again with the Jews. They followed him at first then they became envious because of the multitude that followed Paul the next day. They rejected Paul and he then turned his attention to the Gentiles, Acts 13 42 thru 47. God gave Paul to the Gentiles to teach them and bring them into the fold, Acts 13 47. Verse 47 is very significant because we are to teach what the Apostles, especially Paul, until the ends of the earth. The end of the earth has not happened yet therefore Acts 2 38 is still the path to salvation.

Chatauna Robinson Your comments on 12 14 2014 10 40 and 10 33 am. You say the Holy Spirit fell on the Jews in Acts 2,38. You have to show me where that at because they had to repent and be baptize first before the Holy Spirit came on those Jews. At Cornelius house the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles when they heard Peter 's words in Acts Ch. 10, 43 then the Gentiles receive the remission for sins. Notice it doesn 't say anything about repenting but Peter did ask should we not baptize them.

To Brethren Jacob 's ACTS 2,38 12 19 2014 3 12 PM. COMMENT Amen, Peter 's key open the door for the Church with Cornelius the first Gentile but the Apostle Paul was given the Gospel of Grace to the Gentile and Jews later. Read Eph. Ch. 3 v.2.

Hello Jacob The prophesy concerning Acts 2 38 is actually found in Isaiah 28 11 "For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people ". Then it is stated in Joel 2 28 and 29 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. It was repeated by Peter in Acts 2 16 thru 18. The Gentiles in Acts 10 were baptized in the name of the LORD, Acts 10 48. It is the same baptism. During this Grace Age in order to be saved a person has to follow Acts 2 38.
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Many will be in Hell for allowing the Devil to deceive them on this verse. Acts transitions from the law to grace. Watch out for those who stay in verse 38. The same Peter who preached this message to Jews verse 5, on the day of Petecost verse 1, which is a Jewish feast, see Lev 23 15 16, not an experience, is the same Peter that was shown by God in Acts 10 the Gentiles were to receive the Spirit by faith without baptism see verse 47. And this doctrine was established in Acts 15 and Peter know it, see vs 9. Water baptism especially Jewish water baptism will only get you wet.

Hello Geraldene Leonard In Luke 7 29 and 30. John the Baptist was a forerunner for Jesus Christ. He verily baptized saying to the people that they should believe on him that should come after him. However, after the Holy Ghost fell on the Day of Pentecost and Peter stood up and declared what it took to be saved then from that point up until now and until the rapture takes place people have to follow Acts 2 38 to be saved. There was 12 men who were baptized by John the Baptist who lived after the Holy Ghost fell that had to be rebaptized correctly. So Paul baptized them in Jesus name and when he laid his hands on them they were filled with the Holy Ghost and spake with tongues, Acts 19 1 through 7.

Hello Geraldene Leonard In addition to my comment, when you read Mark 16 you have to read the whole thing. This is called The Great Commission. It starts from verse 15 to 18. Jesus Christ states this statement before he is ascended up into heaven. Jesus Christ is talking in future tense. How we know he is talking in future tense is because in verse 17 he states, "they shall speak with new tongues ". The outpouring of the Holy Ghost had not fell yet. It did not fall until on the Day of Pentecost which is noted in Acts 2.
