It doesn 't matter as long as you are born again you can baptize in Jesus name or in the name of father son and holy ghost it will get the job done we are all one body in Christ. Let 's not bicker about the little things.
  • Sonia escobar for verse 36
Can you give me the interpurtation of what to receive the holy ghost in pentecostal vs. Catholic
  • James
Jesus raised up Himself John 3 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. The Holy Spirit also raised Him up Romans 8 11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ form the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. The Godhead Acts 17 29,Romans 1 20, Colossians 2 9 Three places by the way, they work together. One God manifested in three persons. Also in Revelation 3 12 it was the same God that said in Genesis 19 24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven
  • Grant for verse 36
Hey Trinitarians If Jesus were God, why didnt he resurrect himself, also at Revelation 3 12 if the speaker is God, who is Gods God? Please dont fall back on " it 's a mystery " " thing either.

We will not always understand what language is being spoken.their are an estimated 6,700 languages spoken in this world and some of those spoken by fewer than 1000 people.Sometimes it may sound like jibber jabber and not a specific language to you but i seriously doubt that you would be able to recognise the origin of all 6,700 of those languages. So that would make some of them sound like jibber jabber to you but it doesn 't necessarily mean that they are.1 Corr. 14 v.2 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth him.God waited until the feast of Pentecost to send the promise of His spirit when there were jews from every nation under heaven Acts 2 v.5 because of the feast, there were also strangers of Rome there Jews and proselytes aka gentiles converted to judaism. This will not be the case in most churches of today most will have people from 1 to maybe 5 nations present but that won 't stop hungry people from recieving the Holy Ghost just like it did not stop Cornelius and the rest of the gentiles in his house from recieving it with the evidence of tongues in Acts chapter 10 .May God bless and give increase to the seed I have planted in you as only He can.

1 Corinthians 1 27 GOD HAS CHOSEN THE FOOLISH THINGS OF THIS WORLD TO CONFOUND THE WISE.TO THOSE WHO THINK SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES FOOLISHNESS JIBBER JABBER AS YOU SAY.YOU ARE WISE IN YOUR OWN EYES AND YOU WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THIS PRECIOUS GIFT OF GOD UNTIL YOU GET OVER YOURSELF AND BECOME BROKEN AND CONTRITE BEFORE HIM.SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES IS NOT MY WAY ,NOT YOUR WAY,BUT GOD 'S WAY OF SHOWING THAT A BELIEVER HAS BEEN FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST AS THE SPIRIT GIVES THEM THE UTTERANCE SPEAKING IN TONGUES Acts 2v.4,Acts 10 v.46,Acts 19 v.2 thru 6.SPEAKING IN TONGUES WILL ALWAYS BE CONSIDERED FOOLISHNESS BY THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE WORLD.PAUL ADMITTED 'I THANK MY GOD I SPEAK WITH TONGUES MORE THAN YE ALL.1 COR. 14 V.39 FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES. DO YOU EVER HEAR ANYONE SPEAKING IN TONGUES IN YOUR CHURCH? IF YOU HAVE NOT THEN YOUR IN THE WRONG CHURCH.

People get confused by not rightly dividing the word of truth 2 Tim 2 15. Chrisma means gifted. Tongues are one of the least gifts one could have see 1 Cor 12 30 and 31. They are not unknown jibber jabber. They are languages that one did not have to study to be able to share the gospel with someone else. See Acts 2 verse 8 And how hear we every man in our own TONGUE, wherein we were born? then verse 6 , because that every man heard them speak in his own LANGUAGE. We do not need them today but they will be given again to the 144,000 in the Tribulation to be able to carry the gospel into all the world. Go ye and learn what that meaneth.
  • Bro. Mike
THERE A 2 TYPES OF TONGUES THAT I HAVE NOTICED 1 THE INITIAL SIGN THAT YOU HAVE RECIEVED THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AKA HOLY GHOST Acts 2 4 ACTS 10 46 ACTS 19 2 6 THESE TONGUES ARE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE Acts 2 39 AND MUST BE EXPERIENCED BY EVERY TRUE BELIEVER Mark 16 17 THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE new tongues John 7 38 39 THEY THAT BELIEVE ON JESUS SHOULD RECIEVE THE HOLY GHOST 2 THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AKA HOLY GHOST COME AFTER RECIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT ONE OF THESE IS THE GIFT OF TONGUES WHICH IS NOT GIVEN TO EVERYONE BUT IS ONLY FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST 1 COR.12 10 THIS IS WHERE PEOPLE GET CONFUSED MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

verse 38 Just what part of "every one of you " do you not understand? Every one means all. This is what you MUST do.

Whoso boasteth himself of a false GIFT is like clouds and wind without rain Proverbs 25 14. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their TONGUES, and say, He saith. Jeremiah 23 31. Wherefore TONGUES are for a sign, NOT TO THEM THAT BELIEVE!!! 1 Corinthians 14 22. For the Jews require a SIGN, 1 Cor 1 22. An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a SIGN!! Matthew 12 39. In the book of Acts tongues were spoken on three occations, Ch 2,10, and 19. All three places JEWS who require a SIGN were present. You are not a Jew. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, Revelation 16 13. Frogs catch their prey with their tongue. WATCH that little member. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his TONGUE, but DECEIVETH his own heart, this man 's religion is vain. You 've been warned that that tongue will be set on fire of hell. Trust Christ alone to be saved or 1 Cor 14 38 is your verse.
  • Bro. Mike
The first born again experience is witnessed iN Acts 2 4 AND HAS NOT CHANGED FROM 33 AD TILL JESUS COMES WE 'LL BE TALKIN IN TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT GIVES THE UTTERANCE. I GOT THE HOLY GHOST DOWN IN MY SOUL JUST LIKE THE BIBLE SAYS Acts 2 4

To have a nice day Acts ch. 2 v 38 comment. There is nothing confusing about this verse. It is actually what Jesus said to His disciples before going to heaven Math 28 v 19 is very definitely talking about the same thing. Read it please . Thank you
  • Have a nice day
The Devil has used Acts 2 28 to damn many souls to hell and if you don 't watch out you will go too. Why go by Acts 2 38, a verse you get confused on when you can go by a clear verse by Paul the apostle to the gentiles Acts 9 15, Romans 11 13, etc. Look at Romans 10 9. That will get you straight to Heaven. If you want to be deceived, the idols in your heart will give you a bible verse to get you there. See Ezekiel 14 verses 1 through 9.

The Bible is to be interpreted by the Bible. This said, as for Peter baptizing only in the name of Jesus is a misunderstanding of Acts 2 38. Compare it with Romans 6 3 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? " Also Galatians 3 27 "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. "

Hello everyone, God is a just God but if none of us follow his direction we are going to miss heaven. God gave us a great plan of salvation using Peter as his mouth piece as he used Moses in the old testament, Jesus spoke to Peter and said thou art Peter and upon this rock I will not maybe build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it in Matthew 16 18 19 and as you follow in the bible and find the day Peter used the keys you will find him on the day of Pentecost when the keys were used Acts 2 36 47 and this gospel continues today it 's for everyone not just for the apostles back then and be sincere and try it for yourself, be safe rather than sorry. Peter obeyed Jesus command and Acts 2 39 speaks out loud. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And no one else can do any calling, seek out your own salvation and don 't just listen to everyone that consider themselves a preacher because the Bible tells us to seek it out for ourselves besides how can any of us say amen to the preaching if we don 't know its even in the Bible just because not suppose to, Study, Study and Study the word. God Bless You All !
  • Martin
Please read well the Bible and use the Holy Ghost to explain it. What Peter said is correct. He told people to be baptized in the name of Jesus. But do not think that when the act of baptizing itseft comes, that he did not use the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The meaning of what he said refers only to the fact that every think we do, we do it because of Jesus that God gave us as our savior. For example, if you say to someone "Come to Jesus ". Then do you think that this person will come only to Jesus and will have nothing to do with the Father God and the Holy Spirit? The ansuer is no. Then this is the same of what Peter said!
  • Shibiru
They preach what Jesus order them, baptazing all peoples by the name of Jesus
  • Christina for verse 38
While it is clear here that Peter did baptize in the name of Jesus alone, in Matthew 28 19 JESUS Himself commanded his disciples, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. " I tend to pay more attention to the words in red. Regarding being completely submersed in water for baptism although I have been , I do not believe is a requirement for salvation. The thief on the cross by his own admission did state that he deserved to be there. He had just met Jesus at that point, and yet Jesus promised him in Luke 23 43, "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise. " At no point would that thief have been baptized prior to his crucifixion.
  • Thy word is truth
There is no salvation message in Acts 2. They said What must WE do? Not one person asked what must I do to be saved. There is no mention of the blood atonement in this chapter. There is no mention of Christ dying FOR sins. This is their second chance to receive their Messiah that they had rejected. That 's why Christ said on the cross, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He did forgive them and as a nation they turned Him down again in Acts 7. He was STANDING on the right hand of the Father ready to come back if they would receive Him. They rejected Him and He continued on with the Gentiles and will until shortly He begins to deal with the Jews when the rapture happens. Acts 2 is not how were saved. Read 1 Corinthians 15 verses 1 through 4.
  • KJB
The other disciples didn 't correct him because what he said was all they knew at that time. Acts is a transitional book. Until Acts chapter 7 the kingdom is still being offered. See Jesus standing in verse 55 at the right hand of God by the way. See GODHEAD in Acts 17 29,Romans 1 20, Colossians 2 9. Anyway they didn 't start getting straight on the Gentiles being saved by grace through faith until Acts 10. The Lord had to get Peter straight on his doctrine and they were baptized in the name of the Lord. The Father is called LORD in Jude 5 and the O.T. and the Son is called Lord in Philippians 2 verse 11 and the Holy Spirit is called Lord in 2Cor 3 verse 17 and that is Gentile baptism matching Matthew 28 verse 19. You can 't find Acts 2 verse 38 being repeated again. Look at the words in the verse not what your pastor says they say. Please see that in Acts 10 they received the Holy Ghost before baptism in verse 47 then were baptized in the name of the Lord. It did not say Jesus name. You have to go by the text, not what you insert in it. By Acts ch 15 the apostles have their doctrine straight because they have realzed the Jews as a nation have completely rejected the Messiah and He has turned to the Gentiles. See in ch 15 the same Peter of Acts 2 38 says in 15 verse 9 PURIFING THEIR HEARTS BY FAITH and in verse 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we sahll be saved, EVEN AS THEY. Acts 2 28 is not for us today. I know it 's hard after being taught that all your life but God 's word stands as the plumbline. Have a nice day 1Cor 15 verse 38. "

Do all things in the name of Jesus. Baptize in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is the name of Jesus. God is a jealous God so if he is not Jesus then why would he say do all things in the name of Jesus? Why would he say that all power in Heaven and on earth is givin to Jesus? Would a jealous person want all glory to go to someone other than himself? Thou shalt have NO other Gods before me. Think on that.
  • Jason wilson for verse 38
If peter was wrong on the day of pentecost wouldnt the other disciples have corrected him?i think they would have!so how many times can you find where the trinity formula was used in the new testament? How many times can you find where Acts 2 38 was obeyed?

The truth The way The life
  • No name
"Daniel 9 7 says O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day to the men of JUDAH, and to the inhabitants of JERUSALEM, and unto all ISRAEL, that are near, and that are FAR OFF, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. And that is not a reference to Ephesians 2 verse 13. It hadn 't been written yet and Paul wasn 't even saved yet. The AFAR OFF refers to the JEWS. Get saved in Romans chapter 10, not Acts 2 verse 38. "
  • Amy
To the person that said Acts 2 38 couldn 't save a tadpole that Paul was only speaking to the Jews, then what do u think of verse 39? It says that the promise is unto u, to your children to ALL that are afar off, as many as The Lord our God shall call. That tells me that the promise is for me also, that this IS the way to salvation
  • Stephen for verse 38
Acts 2 38 it 's the key too the Kingdom. the truth.
  • KJB
Why aren 't "WE " pious. Take a look at the sermons of Jesus and Paul and see that they used "YOU " instead of "WE ". Lets not offend anyone now. They thought Jesus could have been "Elias, and others, Jeremias, " Matthew 16. Read Jer. Chapter 23 and compare it to Matthew 23 and see the resemblance. Having said all that, Paul had to straighten Peter out on his doctrine, see Galatians 2 verse 11 and Jesus had to get him straight several times see Matthew 16 verse 23. Having said that, Peters message to the JEWS is not for us today. By Acts 15 he had found out it was by FAITH and no works. I hope you believe that. Acts 16 verse 31 will help.
  • Jeff
To the man who said that "Acts 2 38 couldn 't save a tadpole ". If I read my bible correctly baptism is for the remission of sins and The Holy Spirit is the promised sign of entering in to the church. Since they didn 't have bibles back in those day to let every tom, ** or harry give his opinion on. The letters from Romans to Revelation would not have been given to those who were lost for they were letters to the churches read in the gathering of those saved Holy Ghost filled, sin remmitted people . In essence if you haven 't followed the command of Peter in Acts 2 38, your reading someone elses mail without a reference of relationship. You are deceived by the ignorance of your arrogance.
  • Abrham for verse 38
First of all I would like to say to the two groups to think that Peter obeyed Jesus ' command . means Peter knew the name of Jesus represented in divinity. So when Peter baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus , he acknowledged that the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is the side that name. in this understanding peter did. I do not agree when you say baptism in the name of the father son and holy spirit has not been accepted or not biblical . and I do not agree when people say to baptize in the name of Jesus only satanic teaching . One must understand that the so called Divinity refers to the Father Spirit word of God the son The Holy Spirit Spirit of God and these are just God . But we must not forget that we are obliged to follow accepted teaching and preaching of the apostles . because they were the only legitimate fundamental sources of us. When people try to fool themselves by saying that we do not want to follow the teaching peter we have the Holy Spirit that can lead us to the truth this is simply arrogant. it is true that the Spirit of God can lead us I agree, but only when we walk in principle. Let us not think that we are smarter than others. Such language does not work in the house of God.
