Pastor Chautana. I have a lot of respect for you. We have both loved the Lord a long time. I know that our Lord God does not want confusion. I know our God can do anything He wants. I believe the Day of Pentecost happened but I don 't believe that People speak in other languages, tongues now. I have been in congregations where it was said some were speaking in tongues but it wasn 't. There was also no interpreter. I was at a Catholic Apostolic Charasmatic church. This church practiced immersion by the way. A lady prophesied and someone else interpreted what she said. Our Lord wants us to win others to Him. With seed planting, the spoken word, kind deeds done in the name of Christ. Love is above all. Love will never die. I know you know all this. I hope that you dodon 't think I am disrespecting you. I am not being personal at all. I love you because I have read your other posts. You are like a Priscilla in Acts. I will agree that miracles happen. I was a ICU nurse caring for trauma patients. My brother had ARDS, kidney failure and a severe out of control heart on the ventilator and overcoming alcohol abuse. My sister and I prayed and believed in Jesus name. He has returned to the Lord, praise God. Thank you.

Part 2 of 2 That is what happened on the day of Pentecost this is why they were amazed because the ones that heard them speak knew that those people in the upper room did not speak may languages as they heard that day magnifying God. Then you have the other side of the tongues speaking in a language that no one can interpret unless God gives interpretation. This is a language that is between you and God. This was again spoken of by the prophet Isaiah 33 19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand .
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Part 1 of 2 Hello Joni G. On the Day of Pentecost it states in Acts 2 3 4 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance . The word Cloven means divided or split. It was one tongue but split into two parts. On the one side you have a language that when spoken others can understand and know that God is being glorified. For example, I heard a minister say that when the Holy Ghost fell while he was preaching through interpretation to rural Chinese people a woman was filled with the Holy Ghost she spake in English and magnified God. She had never been taught or spoke English in her life.
  • Joni G
Again, the purpose of speaking in another language, tongue, glossa in Acts 10 by Cornelius and his household was to show the Jewish Christians that Jesus died for the entire world not just them. Praise Jesus, our Savior and King. It is not for today. We need to teach and live the world in love, starting with our own family.
  • Joni G
What languages did you speak in? On the day of Pentecost, the believers that were filled with the Holy Spirit spoke in actual languages. Loving people into Christ is miles more important than speaking in an unknown language, especially if there is no interpreter. 1 Corinthians 14 explains. I say let us all study to show ourselves approved on the subject of speaking different languages.

Hello Joni G. I would like to add to my other comment which I hope will come out today or tomorrow. Not everyone in the Book of Acts was laid hands upon and received the Holy Ghost. Peter just spoke and the Holy Ghost fell on them and they began to speak with other tongues as the spirit of God gave them utterance, Acts 10 44 thru 48. Speaking in tongues is the evidence that you truly have the Holy Ghost.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Hello Joni G. When you read the continued speech of Peter he states in Acts 2 39 For the promise is unto you this means the Jews , and to your children this means their children , and to all that are afar off this means anybody else who is not Jew they are Gentile even as many as the Lord our God shall call. There is no time limit or amount of people put on this scripture. It does not say it is just for the people of that age and time. I was filled with the Holy Ghost many years ago with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance, when a preacher laid hands on me. I have heard and witnessed other accounts of people being filled with the Holy Ghost the same. I have also heard of people being filled with the Holy Ghost coming up out of the water. In the end, the church of God is still growing by following Acts 2 38.

Evangelist Robinson we agree on the Holy Spirit but not speaking in tongues. No one is left alive from the Day of Pentecost to lay hands imparting the gift of tongues on believers. There was so much persecution in the 1st century that a powerful pouring out of the Holy Spirit was needed. To grow the church. We are called to spread the gospel today. Thanks be to our Christ Jesus we have His Word to gently, lovingly lead the to Christ. His powerful word is able to instruct. 2 Timothy 2 15 16. Hebrews 4 12.The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth! Praise be to our Savior, King and God!
  • Joni G
Hello Chauntana. We agree on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, not speaking in tongues the way they did on the day of Pentecost. There is no one left alive from the first century to impart the gift of tongues through the laying on of hands. I think each person needs to spend more time in prayer. When I was at a luncheon 3 years ago, Saeed Abedini spoke and said that American Christians on the whole are much better Bible readers than praying. We need more alone time with God, so He can speak to us.
  • Joni G
Hello Evangelist Chauntana, we agree. I understand and we are saying the same thing. I don 't agree that people speak in different languages today unless they know the language already. The purpose of the Day of Pentecost was to grow the church. You know that. I respectfully disagree.

Part 3 In 1 Corinthians 15 1 thru 4, Paul is reminding them that that are saved. Remember Paul went there to teach them to put them on the right tract so that they could all speak the same thing after being saved. Paul also admonished them not to forbid speaking in tongues, 1 Corinthians 14 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues .
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Part 2 The book of Romans is addressing the Roman Christians that were already saved, Romans 1 1 thru 7. Also the Corinthian people were already saved as well. The Corinthians were baptized, Acts 18 8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. When you read Romans 10 7 thru 14, these are the conditions of Salvation not the plan of Salvation. Yes, a person has to believe however this is not the only thing you have to do. Faith alone does not save you, James 2 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone . The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19. You still have to follow Acts 2 38.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Part 1 Hello Jacob Daniel is a book of prophecy. It is a companion to the Book of Revelation. The point is that not only were Jews filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, but after Peter gave the salvation plan more were added to the church, amongst these were also Gentiles. The Gentiles had to follow the plan of salvation that Peter declared on the day of Pentecost. This is why the examples of Gentiles being saved were written.

Hello Joni G In addition to my comment I would like to add. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. There are not three beings in the godhead bodily to worship. In Jesus Christ dwells the fullness of the godhead bodily dwells, Colossians 2 9. Just like my husband is a father. He is a son. He is a brother, but there is only one of him. This same Jesus Christ is a son. He is the Father. His spirit which is the Holy Ghost, is him also, because was sent back in his name, John 14 26. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. It is a mystery, but it is the truth, 1 Timothy 3 16. The same Holy Ghost that fell on the day of Pentecost is the same Holy Ghost that is being poured out today. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Hello Joni G There is only one Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost that was poured out on the day of Pentecost is the same Holy Ghost that is being poured out today. The same evidence that was shown on the day of Pentecost after receiving the Holy Ghost is the same evidence today after a person receives the Holy Ghost. You must speak in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance. There is no two different Holy Ghost. There are many diversities of gifts, but only one Holy Ghost, 1 Corinthians 12 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit . Paul, being the Apostle to the Gentiles stated that there is one Spirit, 1 Corinthians 12 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free and have been all made to drink into one Spirit . Our mission today is the same as the Apostles mission of yesterday. We are to spread the word of truth. 2 Timothy 4 2 Preach the word be instant in season, out of season reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine .
  • Joni G
Read John 14 6 12. The last sentence in my above comment wasn 't meant to infer that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are female. God is spirit and Jesus says it best. Read His words. I, Joni am a daughter, mother and grandmother of 7. God bless us all through Christ.
  • Joni G
Today we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit after we have believed and are baptized into Christ. We don 't receive the Holy Spirit like the apostles did. The purpose of that baptism by fire was to spread the gospel. Cornelius received the Holy Spirit to show the Jews that the gospel is for all people, not just Jews. Today we have the entire Word of God to be nourished by and after we are Christians, the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. I was with my sister in a hospital room as we both prayed in faith for my brother to be healed. He was! Praise God, the great physician. The Holy Spirit also speaks to God for us when we pray, believing. I agree with Pastor Robinson on the views of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It is complex, yet simple. Mom,grandmother, daughter.

Verse 39 is a quotation from Daniel 9 7. to the men of JUDAH,this matches Acts 2 14 men of JUDEA, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Jerusalem is in Israel see Acts 2 22, and unto ISRAEL, that are near, there were JEWS near, and that are FAR OFF, through ALL THE COUNTRIES WHITHER THOU HAST DRIVEN THEM,. Acts 2 29 is speaking to JEWS or proselytes. A proselyte must become a JEW. Ester 8 17 BECAME JEWS. Take the Gentile way of salvation Rom 10 13,1 Cor 15 1 4.

Hello Stacy I believe that taking a bath is very different from being baptized. I am very sure you know this as well? I am not understanding you point. However, baptism is essential to the salvation plan during this Grace Age that we live in. It has to be the correct baptism and done correctly, and done by someone who has been baptized themselves the correct way and have been filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Hello Jacob When you read Acts 2 39 it states that "For the promise is unto you this means the Jews , and to your children this means their children , and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call this means everybody else who is not Jew this promise is for them to if they follow Acts 2 38 . Isiah prophesied about the Holy Ghost, Isiah 28 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. When you look at Acts 2 6 thru 11 you will see a word called Proselytes. If I can say it like this, these are people who were not Jewish who were either bought by Jews as slaves or converted into Judaism through faith, Acts 13 42 43. A Proselyte Jew, which was Gentiles, had to be circumcised of the ** just like the Jewish men, Exodus 12 48. Remember person who is not born naturally into the Jewish people are considered Gentiles. Then you have the Gentiles in Cornelius house that was saved, just like the Jews on the day of Pentecost. Please read Acts Chapter 10. Please read my post concerning the thief on the cross. I posted it up under John 14 page 1 of 12. The date of this post is 10 27 14 at 7 25 and 11 01am. Also, please read right below my post to Jane Doe.

I think that we have to filled with the holy spirit and be of a changed mind. after this we should be baptized, or if not every time we take a bath we are being baptized.

Part4. The dying thief was not baptized, yet Jesus saved him Luke 23 42 43 . He died before the other two thieves Jn 9 33 which put him dying in the N.T. Heb 9 17 . No water baptism, no works, just FAITH ALONE. Eph 2 8 9.
  • Jacob
Part 2. This is clear from what follows Acts 7. In Acts 8, an individual from Africa is saved before baptism . In Acts 9, an individual from Asia is saved before baptism . In Acts 10, an individual from Europe is saved before baptism . Why didn 't these individual conversions occur before Acts 7? Because the first seven chapter of Acts deal with Israel 1 6 8 2 36 3 12 4 8 10 5 31 6 7 14 7 1 60 . The question of INDIVIDUAL salvation is asked and answered in Acts 16 30 31 ". . . Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. " Those who fail to make this distinction are guilty of violating II Timothy 2 15 where we are told to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the word of truth.

Every person in Acts 2 is a Mosaic law observing Old Testament Jew. In fact, they are all gathered together to observe a JEWISH FEAST called Pentecost verse 1 . A fair reading of the whole chapter especially verses 4, 14, and 36 will clearly reveal that no Gentiles non Jews are present. Since this involves Jews, it involves a NATION verse 36!! , not individuals. No one asked, "What must I do to be saved? " The question asked concerned the NATION of Israel "Men and brethren, what shall we do? " verse 37 Not, "What shall I do, " but rather, "What shall WE do? " Acts 2 presents a NATION of people who come to realize that they have murdered their blessed Messiah and they 're asking what THEY must do. It 's a question concerning NATIONAL salvation. Isaiah 66 8 says, ". . . shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. " The "nation " is Israel! Romans 11 26 says, "And so all Israel shall be saved as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. " Acts 2 38 is dealing with NATIONAL salvation. The Messianic Kingdom is still available to the Jews until Acts 7 60 when they kill Stephen , so national salvation remains an issue until then.

Hello Jane Doe Not only is speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives is very important and essential for a person to have for the rapture, but the correct water baptism is essential to have also. The preacher has to call the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. The correct and true baptism will bring about the following Being baptized the correct way, you are baptized unto his death, have put on Christ, buried with him, and the answer of a good conscience toward God. Romans 6 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Galatians 3 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Colossians 2 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 1 Peter 3 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ Everyone needs to be baptized and in the correct way so saith the Word of God.

Hello Jane Doe I would like to add to my other comment that I hope will come out today or tomorrow. You receive the Holy Spirit when you trust in Jesus for your salvation...you do not have to have the gift of speaking in tongues to be saved...that is a lie...which the word tongue translated would be language...they were speaking in another language and when the people heard them they were amazed ! It is not a requirement for salvation!!
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Hello Diamon A person needs to do a little more than just believe. The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19. A person have to follow Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. There is no way around it. Faith without works is dead. A person can believe but without works, following through with the plan of salvation, then they are still dead. If they die without putting on the name of Jesus Christ through repentance, water baptism, and God has not given them the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance they are lost. If they do follow Acts 2 38 they still have to maintain a saved life.
  • Diamon for verse 21
IF YOU CALL ON THE LORD IN CONFESS YOUR SINS, YOU SHALL BE SAVED AND WILL LIVE EVERLASTING LIFE WITH OUR LORD GOD.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson
Hello Jacob The reason why Paul made this statement to the Corinthian church, because they were already saved. If you read Chapter 1 verses 1 thru 9. Then in verse 10 Paul is letting you know that he came to teach them because there were divisions amongst God s people. He came to teach them so that they can all speak the same. It is not that Paul did not believe in baptism it s just that his job at this time was to teach a people that were already saved and put them on the right track. Paul did believe in baptism. In Acts 19 1 thru 7 Paul himself rebaptized 12 men the correct way and they were filled with the Holy Ghost.
