  • Judith Douglas on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Acts chapter2,give great information about evangelism prayer and the word that was effective in the early and is the requirements for the body of Christ today to see souls added to the kingdom of God daily with signs wonder and miracles as the word of God is preached the world unsaved need to see the power of God in a greater measure in our churches with proof producing who Jesus said he is.
  • Torrie rhodes on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
I found myself draw to the chapter of Acts I believe this chapter is much needed for the spreading of the Gospel. It helped them to do the work for the kingdom of heaven then and it continues with the power of the Holy Spirit to reach and win souls today. Awesome.
  • Dek Barbare on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
In Acts 2 verse 17 I've always understood this prophesy of Joel to come in the latter days before the return of Christ, yet Peter preached it as in effect on the day of Pentecost, and so was it for about 3,000 souls.

Acts 2:38 gives us the general plan for salvation: repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. There is no other way anyone in the Bible is baptized than in Jesus' name. I have read the Bible through more than three times and have yet to find anyone baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

  • Tilda on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
I thank God for such a wonderful gift,of using words to destroy the devil. We see in this scripture that the mouth is the one that we use to call upon the name of Jesus, and it is the same word that God created the earth,so just believe with heart and confess with your mouth and you will be saved because in your words thats where life is,so as your salvation so dont use your mouth to say evil things because it is the one you use to appreciate the works done by Jesus Christ.glory be to Jesus Christ

This passage is still working today and will work forever. As for me : As I have called upon my Lord God through out theses 37 years , He has never failed to save me from any circumstance , and or situation . Salvation is 5 fold : Preservation Healing Deliverance from temporal evils Safety Soundness of mind. All is for the whole of man . God left nothing out. Praise God !!!

It seems to me, what happened on the day of Pentecost was something of a reversal of what happened at the dispersion at Babel in the book of Genesis. I think speaking in tongues clearly refers to speaking in other languages and was a gift apostles found themselves with granted by the Holy Spirit. This all seems very interesting to me in light of our present day church history. Many thanks!
  • Cecilia on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Acts 2 tells about the birth of the church. Thank God we can still be part of this same church!
  • Norm on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Do not be deceived, the words Les posted are true. May GOD bless you all in Christ Jesus. Amen Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Respons to LES M - - - Further more, according to the gospel of LUKE 24:36-53, you should read it until verse 53. Jesus's disciples were terrified because Jesus came to them. They've heard that Jesus was crucified to death but Jesus didn't die. Amazing.. Unless you want to say Jesus is lying in the Bible. Please read the gospel of LUKE 24:36-53.
  • Johnson on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Respons to LES M --- I'm sorry sir. I think you should read the whole story in the book of Act chapter 2. It's not the words from Jesus according for a holy spirit as you said. But it's the words from PETER. Not the words from Jesus. By the way, the words of Jesus from his mouth and lips is in the READ LETTER, in the Bible.
  • Les m on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
We have to remember the word of God says if we don't have the spirit we are none of His. We have to be born again of water and spirit. We have to become new creatures in Christ born again. Water and spirit. Spiritual birth
  • Robert M Demyanovich on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
John preached the baptism of repentance. Jesus did not need to repent. At His baptism by John Jesus accepted. He became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. What is baptism?
    Matthew 20:22-23
22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Do we get remission of sins by faith alone like in Rom 3:25 or by water baptism in Acts 2:38. Are we saved without works Rom 4:5 or are works a part of salvation James 2:24? Are we to turn away someone who asks to borrow Matt 5:42 or are we to tell him to get a job if he wants to eat 2 Th 3:10? Are you to pray for your enemies to be a child Matt 5:44-45 or will simple faith do it Gal 3:26? 2Tm2:15
  • Nene on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
In Jesus name....please read and receive and be saved... James 2:14-26 obey Acts 2:38-47 and receive ye the Holy Ghost blessing. ...
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
The church was started at Pentecost but the physical Kingdom was still being offered. Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come FROM THE PRESENCE of the Lord. They were added and saved according to Acts 2:38 then but not after Paul's revelation of the mystery see Eph 3:1-9. Today its' faith alone ( Rom 3:24-25)!
  • Kings kid on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
If the Lord say so why not obey ? They all not some received vs. 38-47 speaks loud to me.... And the LORD added to THE CHURCH daily such as should be SAVED. ...think about what that means it has been spoken....Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ EVERYONE and ye SHALL not might but shall receive the gift of the holy ghost, he let's us know this is the gospel. .don't resist it. Bless
  • Idiku Emmanuel A. on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
i think that i you read the Act of Apostle Chapter 2 down to 13 very well, according to my own understanding, all i see there about baptism. though John baptized with water but god said that there should wait for the baptism of the holy ghost which there waited for 10 good days and after there were baptized all were speaking in tongues. i think you will understand it more as you proceed Amen.
  • Nene on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
I'm so sorry but I would like to who in their right mind will stand and argue about the scriptures before giving themselves a fair chance, all you have to do is go down on your knees and repent of all your wrong before God and just ask him if this is real he still talks to anyone that seeks him if you're being real trust me he will hear you so go in private and pray until u she'd tears. Blessing
  • Nb on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
The scripture itself makes it clear that the languages spoken were known languages spoken by some of people there from all the Jewish nations who gathered there for the feast of Pentecost. It was not some angelic language known only to God. There are many who truly believe they are speaking this heavenly language, but, sadly, they are in error. This was a sign gift for that period of time. The Holy Spirit comes in to dwell now when we accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We should seek to be filled with Him by obedience to His written Word, and love for one another.

Acts 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts BY FAITH. No water baptism added. Amen Peter. Now Peter has the message that agrees with Pauline doctrine. Paul is our apostle for the church age see Rom 11:13, 1 Tim 2:7, 2 Tim 1:11, Rom 15:16, Acts 9:15, 1TIM 1:16. Paul received an abundance of revelations that had been kept secret since the world began (Ro 16:25).

Acts 15:3-7 they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. And when there had been much disputing, PETER rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago GOD made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel and believe. Preach it Peter! Excited!
