To Rodney- again; I know I said in my last message that it was 'all', but I did need to explain more of why I 'attacked' him; He is a pastor, right? I'm not angry nor indignant with him; it's just I was raised to believe pastors are to seek God for their guidance and answers; not their flock. The pastors are to teach the flock, not vice versa. We are DEFINITELY not to teach the pastors, 1pet.5:2.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
To Rodney - Since you are assuming I attacked a man of God and could not 'hear' my tone of voice - nor discern my attitude - this is all I will say, except - I do thank-you for the response, God Bless you.
  • Rodney Adcock on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
To Irene123. It seems to me like your knowledge has you puffed up....Why would you attack a Man of God when he is simply asking a question about Peters nakedness.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
Something I literally just now noticed - I went to ch. 3 and saw Peter's healing of the lame man at the gate; somewhere I read (not on here) that this was the Apostle's first healing. No, it wasn't; in ch. 2, after the message, "many signs and wonders were done ....."; the 'gate' healing was spoken of as a miraculous miracle because of their 'instant' faith, right on the spot.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
To Bible Reader on salvation - repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus; do you include the 'evidence' of tongues in that .....?
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
To Jane on 1 Cor, 15:1-4 - Acts was the beginning of the church (Acts ch. 2). Everything after Acts was written to ALREADY established churches, they were already saved. The ONLY plan of salvation is Acts 2:38. 1 Cor. 15:v.1 - .....which also ye have RECIEVED (past tense) wherein ye also stand. They are now 'standing' in their salvation.

Romans 2:28-29 says For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neitheris that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29 But heisa Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcisionis thatof the heart, in the spirit, andnot in the letter; whose praiseisnot of men, but of God.

  • Bible Reader on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
Acts is the book of actions of the apostles of the early church.
  • Jane on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
2 Tim 2:15...to correctly divide the scripture.
So if u r not a Jew, please follow the gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4 to be saved. The book of Acts is a transitional one.
  • Stella on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47
  • Bible Reader on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
The only name that can remit sins is Jesus. Father, Son , and Holy ghost are titles.
Acts 2:38 plainly states we should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12 says Neitheristheresalvationin any other: for thereis none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, One Faith , One Baptism.

Comment* Bro. Daniel FC, 2Timothy 3:16 says "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thorougly furnished unto all good works. 2Peter 1:2 says "For prophesy came not in old time by the will of man,but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
  • Bro. Daniel FC on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
I don t think the disciples have willingly disobeyed their Master, but perhaps the records are incomplete. Either way we need to go with the commandment of our Savior. This is why, today, Christians baptize the new believers in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. If you have a problem with what Jesus says, you have a big problem
  • Bookreadingismything on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
Oh Lord Jesus, I do repent. I am so sorry for all the mistakes I made in the past for things I said and done that hurt and alienated people, because I was afraid of getting hurt over and over again. I am so sorry, and I try to be a better person every day. I want only to help others and serve you, Jesus.

    It very interested
  • Wayne on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
VV.38 and 41: repent and be saved, baptized, and they received the Holy Ghost. No speaking in other languages needed that day. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Speaking another language is a sign to unbelievers, not believers.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
From the book of Acts to the book of Jude, its all there. Speaking in Tongues is an absolute must for you to manafest because Gods Holy Word says so. The Word of God IS the WILL of God, Amen and Amen indeed. Shalom yedda dim {beloved one}.
  • MISSIONERY PASTOR TIMOTHY MUSAU on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
THE CHURCH JESUS WAS BORN AT PENTECOST DAY, SET APART ON THE SAME DAY, CAME UP WITH A DIFFERENT SYSTEM OF ERADICATING POVERTY BY SHARING WHAT THEY HAD ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS AND NOBODY LACKED THUS COVERING EACH OTHERS NAKEDNESS.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
What I think of Acts 2 is -- it is THE beginning of Jesus' church and HIS salvation is found in verse 38.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
I know He calls us and He receives us - after we have followed Acts 2:38. There is no, with just our mouths, 'accepting' Him as our personal savior. not when Peter himself, with the keys of knowledge Jesus gave him, was inspired by the Holy Ghost to preach Acts 2:38. How could anyone think that Jesus is such a 'marshmallow after the pre-scourging, then hours of crucifixion he went thru?
  • Geraldine cole on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
Time is running out repent of your sin do not let the devil steal your soul hell was not meant for u but the devil do not allow him to deceive u look at the things in the world can't u see Jesus is soon to come men marriage to men that against Jesus children do not honor their mother and father .parents are against children people are killing for no reason we cannot trust anyone Amen
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 7 years ago
Acts chapter 2 is a continuation of John the Baptist's baptism see Mk 1:4. That's why they had to be re baptized in Acts 19 because they had his baptism Acts 19:4. Acts transitions from the law to grace. You don't receive the Holy Ghost like that today, you receive the Spirit through faith see Gal 3:14. After the Jews rejected Christ in Acts 7 Paul is saved and God goes to the Gentiles Acts 20:28.
  • Aj on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
    amen
  • Nathan on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Acts2:38 is the only salvation for our souls. Not confessing he is lord and BAM your saved. That would be false doctrine. Mark my words, "There will be a preacher killing day for the falls doctrine" there is only one God one Baptism One Holy Ghost. And it's reall o God it's reall blessed be your name o Lord. Amen
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
to Sharon - you advised someone (I didn't take notice of who) to read acts ch. 2. Yes, I agree - please really study it. Matt. 28: 19 is in there, in vs. 4 and 37-38.

Hi Betty Jesus loves you, the only way to have faith in God is by hearing the word of God. We must be Born Again in Spirit and not in flesh . We must invite Jesus and accept him into your life Jesus will be the one to connect his spirit to us, from his blood our sins are cleanse and we are pardoned and was healed from his stripes iasiah 53.5. Just keep praising and thanking him everyday.amen
