All we have to do is follow Apostle Paul through the Lord Jesus Christ in all his epistles Romans through Philemon and be saves by grace through faith plus nothing. Take God for his Word and believe. Rightly divide the Word of God and you will see...

What I said was, I have known the Bible for 50 yrs. and I know there is no difference between Holy Ghost and Spirit. Because the apostles used them interchangeably in one sentence it can get confusing to others. I'm sure it has to do with the 'context'.

I was thinking - the new Christians wouldn't take part in their old O.T. things, nor would they be allowed into the temple with their new belief; it would have been a sacrilege to the 'Jews'. Irene, The Court of the Gentiles was for "the Gentiles;" for there were many from all over the world that came up to Jerusalem, ever since the days of King Solomon. The Disciples at that time were not yet from among the Gentiles, but Jews, and were not assembling with the Gentiles. They did what was commonly done by all the people, gathering in groups; except THEY were filled with the Holy Spirit.
V. 46 - The Bible doesn't say such, but there was a 'court of the Gentiles' that these Christians used at the Temple; it was an open roofed court, and in v. 47 they had Christians homes to worship in also. I read a lot of Bible history; it helps in understanding the Bible; I love biblical history.
Moses, There is no contradiction with ANY Scriptures! It is important to understand the context of the Word, in order to discern what might otherwise sound different. Its not word games and its not some kind of secret code; but truth and intelligence in listening to what is said, in total. We cannot just take a favorite "verse" by itself to get the right meaning, without the whole of the teaching.

Acts 2:4 - I've seen the question on here (on the comments back pgs.) - "I've tried to explain to my congregation that the holy ghost and the holy spirit are two separate things." I'm sure v. 4 is where they got this erroneous idea. Had Luke said, "..... as the ghost gave them utterance." it would have been ludicrous, as you can see. Isa. 1:18 - Come now, let us reason together ..... ".
Acts 18:2 says Aquila was from Pontus. I got curious, looked up Pontus. And the article reminded me there were people (Greeks, "strangers") present on the Day of Pentecost, Acts 2:9. It was during the Roman period that Christianity entered Pontus and near-by areas from the Roman 'dispersion'. God wanted His people to spread His word beyond Jerusalem, and this is how he did it.

The 4 gospels laid the foundation for the beginning of Jesus' church. The church began in Acts Ch. 2 with the first message by Peter, then the question, " ..... men and brethren, what shall we do?" Peter's answer, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift if the Holy Ghost."
This is salvation.

J. Claudio - You need to go to Jesus in prayer for HIS guidance in your ministry, not to people. People will give you THEIR ideas. Jesus told His disciples, Apostles to pray for His words to speak AFTER they r'cvd the power of the Holy Ghost on the Day of Pentecost. You don't have His spirit or you would know this. I am NOT judging you; please believe that. I pray for God's wisdom for you.
As we use faith we should see Christ and the church that he gave his life for in a new light. God's Word ignites our hearts for worship and for reaching out to our world with the Gospel. The same Holy Spirit dwells in us and gives us power to be a light and impact in this dark world.
Does anyone on here know that it was at least15 years after Jesus established His church in Acts ch. 2 that the epistles even BEGAN to be written, the 'epistles' being all the books after Acts. So where did all the scriptures come from that the apostles and disciples use to witness to people during those 15 yrs? Answer - from their knowledge of the O.T. and Jesus' 3 yr. ministry with them.

I believe Satan is the author of confusion, GOD is not the author of confusion 1 Corinthians 14:33. As also in all his epistles Paul's letters to the churches he established in the BOOK OF ACTS , speaking in them of these things, in which are hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest twist , as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2 PETER 3:16. These letters were established in the Book of ACTS on PAUL'S missionary journeys. Study to shew thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:15. Acts 19:1-6. REMEMBER ALL SCRIPTURE IS BY INSPIRATION OF GOD! 2 Timothy 3:16. Read Ephesians 4:5, Galatians 1: 8-12.
