to Emily. I personally don 't understand what you mean. The Bible is The old and New Testament.
  • Emily on Acts 17 - 9 years ago
I wish you could do the whole bible like the new and old testament.
  • Joe on Acts 17 - 9 years ago
Paul did not write Acts: Luke is the author
  • Andre Carney on Acts 17 - 9 years ago

As I read this chapter this morning and came to verse 23 and then reading through verse 32 to the end, I realized that my country Greece, today, is the same as the first and only time Paul visited Athens. INDIFFERENT. It brought me great sorrow that God honored this country by spreading the Gospel through Paul in this country , and yet today they have turned from the real Jesus and God to other gods worshipping the Mother of Jesus, Many Old Saints, like Paul, Peter and new ones as well , and other religions . Today, Greece is a Christian country in name only , as many other European countries are, but God didn 't forget us and there is a 0.5 reborn Christians in this country who listen and teach the gospel and the True Word of God and spread it with the help of the Holy Ghost . I pray that soon the light will come again onto this country and people. I pray to my Lord to touch them this Christmas and say AMEN and please join me with an AMEN , for Greece and FOR YOUR OWN COUNTRIES as well. God is always good.
  • Joan Mauro on Acts 17 - 9 years ago
We the Christians today should turn the world upside down for Jesus Christ We have this power and authority already invested in us by the power of God and the work done on Calvary. Not by violence and hostility but by great influence through the power of Intercessory prayers. The Kingdom of God should influence the world. AMEN

act 17 30 What i understand is that in the days of ignorance of man God overlook our errors. But when we come to knowlege of truth, we must repent radically, or face appropraite judgment.
  • Bezejuh emmerencia epse nkeng on Acts 17:11 - 9 years ago
I think these men wanted to be sure that paul was not bringing to them a religion that was out of scripture. for surely in those days just like today a lot of people were into religion rather than seek CHRIST the author and finisher of faith. All they wanted was a truthful and substantail suport of this truth.
  • Elder mawos on Acts 17:30 - 9 years ago
As much as this verse tells us that God has overlooked our wrongs before Christ was revealed to us, even unto people where the gospel is yet to reach He is doing the same.Even unto young kids who are not into understanding because of young age the same applies .The onus is unto the saved to spread the gospel .Otherwise the blood of these ignorant people will be on our hands by failing to heed the Great Commission of Christ .
  • Jessica on Acts 17:27 - 9 years ago
I feel that the Lord is trying to use Paul to let people know that He is right beside us and though it is His desire to see us all saved,He will not force Himself on us.God is the perfect gentleman. He will not make us live for Him,we have to love Him because of who He is . Not Some idol, that can neither save nor teach.God is right here if we want Him.He don 't need us , We need Him.
  • Blessef on Acts 17 - 9 years ago
though he be not far from everyone of us. nigh thee as you read this GOD is right next to you seek his face. seek the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness. sanctify yourself and the GOD of peace will sanctify you holy.
  • Kathy Powe on Acts 17:11 - 9 years ago
I think the men during time of Acts people did not know the word of the Lord as it were being taught by Paul whom God had sent they were more eager to learn about the word of the Lord then the men of Thessalonica did so they were eager to learn more by asking Paul questions of the part of words meaning wanted to have the proof other what he were teaching I guess some did some research for themselves. That I can not get a clear learning about the Lords word I also get eagle enough to ask or do some research of my own. Good to be eager about the Lords word.
  • Grant on Acts 17 - 9 years ago
Acts 17 31 agrees with John 5 22. Trinitarians, what bible are u reading? The son, subject to his father, the son, appointed by his father, the son, brought back to life by his father, will do his fathers will. And when the appointed time is over, he the son, will return the crown of his kingdom to his father.1 Corn.15 24 27
  • Buddy Aldridge on Acts 17 - 10 years ago
I Think that God were saying that all man is of one blood and can live anywhere on the earth I discussed this chapter with a christian lady and she was saying that it meant that man cant live on the moon or mars that is why it says earth that is her way of thinking
  • Brianna on Acts 17:26 - 10 years ago
Interesting scripture. So, Adam had the ability to procreate all the races. I wonder what Adam an Eve looked like. Out of that one blood, all the nations appeared. That's pretty cool to think about.

Like Mom said, we are all equal!
  • Victor wandera on Acts 17:30 - 10 years ago
let ALL men of GOD Obey the word
  • Winson Falia on Acts 17 - 10 years ago
Acts 17:24 is a surprising verse for all. It says that God does not dwell in temples made with hands. So the temples(church) where we worship God's presence is not there! Yes, it is true because God dwells in us as our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and it is not made with human hands.
  • Rosalina on Acts 17 - 10 years ago
(This is my response to Rob farner's comment dated 8/16/2013 at 11:10am on Acts Chapter 17 about verse 30):.. They shall not be held responsible IF they shall abide to the commandment of God for repentance.
  • Roger Moore on Acts 17:29 - 10 years ago
The verse Acts 17:29 remind us not to think that in man made stone, silver, gold, etc.. That on that creation has a Godhead, this is idolatry, even when we bow or serve to the gaven images... We commit sins according to the books of EXODUS 20:4-6...
  • Rob farner on Acts 17:30 - 10 years ago
Does that mean they are not held responsible?
  • Bongiwe Ntaka on Acts 17 - 11 years ago
As Belivers we must live a life of constant repentance. We are no longer ignorant and God calls us to repent. We sin, not knowing it, through our thoughts, deeds, opinions and the way we speak. We therefore have to constantly repent, that is the life of a Believer...you repent in order to be given yet another chance...
  • Elizabeth on Acts 17:29 - 11 years ago
In John 15:5 the bible says He is the vine and we are the branches, in other words what the vine has the branch has in it two meanings I have received the nature of God in me. I have Eternal life which is the Zoe life just as the bible says we have become partakers of Divine nature. 2 Corinthians 3:21-23 says, Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours; whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come; all are yours. And you are Christs, and Christ is Gods. We are Joint Heirs with Christ.
  • Tina on Acts 17 - 11 years ago
I came to read this chapter after finding a mention online how God winked at us in verse 30. I have never read or heard this, but it is awesome. Just to know that at the time we are called by Him and surrender ourselves, He gives us a wink about our past ignorance. Is that not our awesome God whom we serve! So, let's just give Him a wink back and then do as He commands us to repent! If God will give me a wink, I don't think He would mind my giving Him a wink back. I love you Yahweh!
  • Cheri carpenter on Acts 17 - 11 years ago
Everyone that has asked Jesus in his or her heart knows that we know that Jesus is at the right hand of heavenly father. Just waiting to come and get us so we will be with him for evermore. Thank you Jesus. God bless everyone.

REPENT FROM ANY DUMB IDOL! FEAR THE LORD!

Deuteronomy 4:15-16 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

STATUES OR IMAGES OR ANYTHING WHICH IS INTENDED TO COMPARE THE APPEARANCE OF JESUS IS AN IDOL! ( Jer 10:14-16, 16:20-21, Psalm 115:4-7).
SATAN IS DECEIVING HUMAN THROUGH THE PICTURE OF JESUS (IT IS NOT JESUS) AND JESUS CHRIST WHO IS TRUE AND ALIVE IS TRYING SO HARD TO WIN HIS PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY LONGING AFTER HIM, BY REMINDS THEM ABOUT OBEDIENCE TO THE SECOND COMMANDMENT. ( Jeremiah 2:11-13, Rev 13:7-9, Mal 4:4)

Jeremiah 10:14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. 15 They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

This truth revealed on 21 December 2006. With Gods help, the testimony and teachings about this written on eight tittles of Good News: 1. Devils Deception Revealed, Revealing Truth, 2. Salvation Comes! Saved By Grace Through Faith, 3. The TRUTH Is Come, Kingdom Which Cannot Be Moved., 4. The Faith Of Yeshua, 5. NOW GOD COMMANDETH ALL MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT, 6. THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL, GOOD NEWS!, 7. JESUS CHRIST THE LORD, 8. I Am Not Sent But Unto The Lost Sheep Of Israel

God calls all people everywhere to repent ( Act 17:29-31),

Those who do not repent will get the sword of God.

Isaiah 65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

Jeremiah 16:20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.

Isaiah 42:8 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 46:5; To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?

John 5:23 ; That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

    Repent! Fear the Lord!

Scripture says that God has made of one blood all nations--there is no superior race of people--all one human race. We all are equal at the foot of the cross.
