Part of walking in grace is loving others, avoiding sin Romans 12:2 not falsely assuming you have a license to sin. Satan wants people to think they don't have to live as a Christian, don't have to try. Unfortunately Christians can buy into the lie, even denounce Jesus, based on a false assumption that they're already saved and can do whatever they want. Satan wants people to ignore James 2:14-26.
  • Rusu Elisei - In Reply on Acts 16 - 4 years ago
Isn't it for the Jews?Who must have faith works for salvation? We christians must have only faith for salvation of our soul. All Paul epistles to the church except the one for Hebrews which is for the jews reflect that. For example, in 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 it is talked about a brother who committed a very great sin which is incest but the flesh was destructed by Satan and his soul was still saved.
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 16 - 4 years ago
Grace vs works is a very common debate. James 2:14-26 and others show that works are important, likely beyond just a reward in heaven. It calls your faith 'dead' without works. There are no scriptures saying that people with no faith or dead faith enter heaven. Most people will go to hell wide is the gate . Christians who denounce Christ or commit blasphemy surely should be concerned.
  • Rusu Elisei - In Reply on Acts 16 - 4 years ago
You are saved by grace alone not by works. The works you do after salvation you do for your own good and for a reward in heaven, not for your salvation of soul. Now you don't keep the commandments in order to get to Him in Heaven, you keep them because now you know that they are the word of God and they are for your own good. If you don't keep them He will punish you but not send you to hell.

BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED acts 16:31. lf salvation is a gift Ephesians 2: 8,9 ?Why would you believe a moral religious person above Holy Scripture? God Almighty crucified His only begotten Son for you and me. Why would He require 600 commandments for you to kept in order for to get to Him in Heaven? Repent of what you are a sinner hoping to make Heaven by works

Verse 25~the first thing Peter did was turn to Jehovah God in prayer. When we are in distress we want to turn to God in prayer as well.

  • Peter on Acts 16 - 6 years ago
The whosoever are the Elect, they are the only ones who appear in the Lamb's book of life, from eternity past. If Christ died for all, Judas would be saved, but Scripture says Judas was doomed. Only Christ knew that, because Judas was made a vessel of dishonour when formed by the Potter as stated about Esau whom God hated. Many who travel the broad road think they are saved. But not so. <><

Let me see if I can take a different approach....in verse 18, did Paul abused his authority? He was grieved mad about this woman following them. He cast the demon out because he was grieved, not because he wanted to bring God glory. God then put them in jail. Paul later asks verse 25 for forgiveness ...prayed and sang..praised God. God forgave and used their mistake to bring Glory!

  • Peter A. Okebukola on Acts 16 - 6 years ago
God was the protector and guide of Paul and Silas. He saw them through the thick and thin of their missionary journeys. The Holy Spirit was in hand to tell them where to go and not to go. Wherever they went, coverts were won. Even when jailed, God came to the rescue. It is the same God today and we must look up to him for daily guidance. In turn, we should spread the gospel to lost souls.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. We must follow his comments for to grow in Grace not for Salvation. We are seal by the Holy Spirit of God in Salvation, we cannot loose it. Praise God

  • Tahj D. Clements on Acts 16 - 6 years ago
Amen. Obey and receive. If you believe on Him you will follow His commandments. You cannot just believe and be saved. The Apostles They who said this vers Knew that those who truly believe on Jesus's name will repent and follow the righteous way to The Father which Jesus taught. Read The book of Matthew chapter 5 for the information in what Jesus said and taught. I love you all. May The Good Lord bless you this day and forever as your walk in Him continues. Amen.-Tahj

Amen to Acts 16;30-31 also please pay attention to everything Jesus and his Apostles taught on believing EX: Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved v17 signs that follow believers speaking with new tongues as mentioned in Acts 2:4 they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spake in other tongues that were new to them. Believers should receive the Holy Ghost John 7:39

In verses 6 through 10 Paul was urged to go to Macedonia. Paul followed the direction he received from God's holy spirit.

Acts 2:37, " ..... men and brethren, what must we do?" v. 38; Acts 16 30 - " ..... Sirs, what must I do to be saved"? v. 33 - "..... and was baptized, he and all his, straightway." Paul and Silas told him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. To 'believe' is more than just 'mental' assent. Read Jas.1:22,23, 17,18, 20-22, 24-26. To believe is simply faith; to have faith is to believe.

To Graham on 12 3 13 - What a beautiful testimony!! I love seeing the TRUTH on here. It's true - people take from God's Word just what they want - and that in itself nullifies God's word to others nobody's getting the whole truth.

SO FAR, I AM VERY IMPRESSED, AS ALWAYS WHEN I READ THE BOOK OF ACTS, WHICH I TITLE THE ACTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN, BY, WITH, AND THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT. I BELIEVE, THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IN ME IS, GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH IS GOD AND JESUS, AND LIMITED IN ME BY FAITH. FROM THE 1ST CHAPTER THROUGH THE 16TH CHAPTER THERE IS ONE THOUGHT I RECEIVED, JESUS IS, FOREVER.

  • Dr. Hamilton Pagan on Acts 16 - 7 years ago
Acts 16:35-40. The Spirit of God will convict every man who ever mistreats a believer. No man will ever escape His convicting power. But note: repentance is up to the man. God cannot repent for the man. Repentance is the man's responsibility. And if the man does not respond to God's conviction by repenting, he will be judged and condemned eternally. God Bless.
