Steve now unto abraham and his seed natural israel were the promises made but he said not unto seeds plural but unto 1 seed which is christ.thus its christ that is gona be multipled as the stars of heaven which means that god is gonna have gransons thats y they call him the bridegroom he is gona sow the incorruptible seed of god in humanity that woman is us giving birth to the granson th h.g.
  • Alex
Steve jesus cd not refer to the h.g. as the promise if he were not his seed his breath his multiplication etc i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven that was the great promise and god was so passionate about this promise of multiplcation of christ's seed that he swore by his very self thats y jesus is saying to whom the word his seed came it made them gods thus the h.g is th granson gbu.
  • Alex
Steve when ya say there is no granson you are in essence saying there was no promise of multiplication to christ no babes and sucklings n no children of the kingdom no heavenly birth no israel of god, christ is impotent he has no seed , we have no heavenly birth,no new covenant of the word sown in our hearts no lil child that will lead us,no fruit, no son of man.the woman will not give birth gbu.
  • Tom for verse 6
Acts 13:6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Barjesus... I think he was pretending to be Jesus. Not going to work! Praise the Lord!

The reason is because this name Canaan was transliterated. This means when you try to translate a word from one language, in this case Greek or Hebrew, to another language, that doesn't have a word for it.They sort of approximate what it would be if you changed the letters to what it would equal in English. So in Greek, this would be Chananaios or Chanaanean. So, they used Chanaan. Later on Canaan
  • Tyler
You know what I think as long as I know the verse is talking about Canaan I can ignore the fact that Canaan is spelled with an h.
  • Tyler
Why is Canaan (13:19) spelled with a h???
  • Douglas G Wells
Paul had nothing against the people
  • Douglas Gilbert Wells
Now we see what happen when man allowed sin.

The GOSPEL 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 All we have to do is believe with all our hearts.
  • Peter A. Okebukola
God is moving. The spread of the Gospel is off to a fine start. The message here is for us to be part of the effort to spread the gospel in our own little corners. There may be adversities and opposition but like Paul, Barnabas and other disciples, we must be prepared to soldier on for Christ.
  • Ray321
Acts 13:35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. When Jesus was in the belly of the earth, he saw no corruption, but David did see corruption. Jesus was Holy and Perfect.

Verse 48: All those who are rightly disposed and have the right heart condition will be able to gain everlasting life.
  • Bruce
The Jews raised up an army of voices of men and women to run Paul and Barnabas out of Town. Just like today. The lost pushed The Light out of Public Schools, education systems,The Government. And Worse of all: The Churches. The Darkness is taken over The World like a Flood. Most say they are saved! then say get out-of-the-way I can't see the TV! the Internet is down. Some here need The Blood.
  • Irene123
    V. 50 - But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women ..... "? I wonder if anyone knows what THAT was all about. What? the men couldn't handle it themselves - or what ... ?
  • Irene123
To Paul on witnessing - you put me to shame; thank-you; I know when God's talking to me and He just did - thru you.
  • Paul
How Many of us have witnessed for Christ under the possibility of our lives been taken in the act? I don't think very many- certainly not me. But if there was a possibility of that happening, like there was for Paul, honestly, how many of us would speak? And since there currently isn't, why arent we multiplying our efforts?

    Dear Insight777,
The Lord said David was a man after His own heart; and He wants all of His sons and daughters to be after His own heart, in truth. That we were made in His own image and likeness has first to do with our character being like our Father in heaven. This is what Jesus came into the world to restore to men. David was anointed king of Israel for what kind of man God saw him to be.
  • Dewey J
Bobbie, those that die believing in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior like David spirits goes straight to heaven but the body decay in the grave until the rapture or second coming of Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ resurrected with his once mortal body glorified then ascended to heaven 40 days later as witnessed by the gospel of John and others. Praise God in the highest. Amen!
  • Cheryl
Mike, Jesus was resurrected with an immortal fleshly body, which he proved to the disciples by eating a piece of broiled fish. Thomas put his finger into Jesus' wounds and recognised that this was in fact, Jesus. The spiritual person of the Godhead is the Holy Spirit; the Comforter whom Jesus sent to teach, lead and guide us, his future disciples. Blessed Holy Trinity.
  • Mike
Verse 34 shows that Jesus was resurrected with a spirit body that was imperishable.
  • Insight 777
Verse 22, I believe the heart mentioned here is symbolically Jesus. Jesus said I am before David, Jesus existed before David yet David is listed as his father in linage as the Messiah. The man fulfilling God 's will is Jesus, the heart of God. David was after Gods heart, Jesus, not before Jesus. It is Jesus not David that fulfills all of Gods will.
  • Francois for verse 2
We need to have appointed Men by the Holy Spirit so that the Church can sent the ones.
  • Samson Emmanuel
If i recall back in verse 32 paul said "and we declare unto you a glad tidings " the question here is that, have you heard the glad tidings or have you recieved the glag tidings?
  • Bowman for verse 29
Explain why some use Cross and some use tree? Did not God say my word change not? His name will always be God because He is God! He had to come in the form of a Man whom He called Jesus and we know that Jesus and God are the same. However, a cross is not the same as a tree, would you please explain why it has been changed by your interpretation?
  • Meagan Blair
I believe it is good for people to read this for it shows them that no matter where they are in there life, it is never to late to turn around and God can do anything!
  • John Ritter
Joseph Ryder 's Acts Chapter 13 comment on 10 20 2013, 10 47am... Paul is not wrong. God hand picked him to save the gentiles. when the Jews rejected Jesus the Christ. God turned to the gentiles. We had no place with God. The laws and the promise was for the Jew 's only. Thanks to the Jews we can be saved.
  • Phoebe Edwards
God will make his selection of who he wants to do his work here on earth. We just have to continue to share the good news. After Paul realized he was chosen his whole motives change. Let us do his will with one expectation to receive the crown. Remember we plant the seed it is Christ who gives the increase.
  • Gloria Pray
I AM A WOMAN THAT IS AFTER GOD OWN HEART MEANING I WANT TO BE LIKE HIM. THAT IS A WONDERFUL THING IN MY LIFE.
  • Pauline
Verse 51 reminds me of Christ's instructions in Matthew 10:12-15:
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.

13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

How do we receive the word of God? Do we select what we want to hear or receive it with gladness?
