  • Obbie Beal on Acts 10 - 4 years ago
At the hour above and as it relates to SALVATION, JESUS has returned to the FATHER and JESUS is preparing to return to earth.... so, while all mankind wait for JESUS to return to earth, JESUS has empowered the SAVED with POWER FROM GOD, especially POWER to plant the seed of the GOOD NEWS of JESUS POWER to SAVE a person from the Lake Of Fire / Rev:2015. NOTE verse 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is HE which was ordained of GOD to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43 To HIM give all the prophets witness, that through HIS NAME whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. See John 3:16-21.

By faith, the same way as the Jews. By faith are you saved, it is a gift from God, not by works, lest any man may boast.

I salute water baptism b f the CROSS it was a sign of a greater baptism coming,Thats y the Dove descended on Christ marking him as our sacrficial dove tht had to be washed by running water. the 2 turtle doves of the law was for a leprosy sin. Humanity has a sin nature Christ answers to the dove that had to be killed and his blood sprinkled on the living bird the church ,whom the son set free etc.
  • Alex on Acts 10 - 4 years ago
Paul knew that water baptism wd made the cross the BLOOD of NO EFFECT thats y he said there was only 1 valid BAPTISM. AS THERE IS ONLY 1 BAPTISM OF Promise which is th h.g. baptism.THATS Y THE LORD WAS SO UPSET WITH PETER rebuking him 3 times with that sheet. All th unclean animals in that sheet was the church that was made clean by the blood of the lamb not water baptism that peter was commanding.
  • Alex on Acts 10 - 4 years ago
What i have made CLEAN donot call common or unclean,God was baptising folks with the h.g. th ultimate and only cleanser for sin But here comes Peter commanding water baptism as if his blood was INsufficient. What i have made Clean by the blood resulting in the h.g. th only cleanser for sin is his blood not h20 Peter was impling that the th CROSS did not make them completly clean FROM THEIR SIN.
  • Alex on Acts 10 - 4 years ago
After peter understood the vision he said then remembered i the words of our lord john baptised you with water but i will baptise you with the h.g. and fire who was i to fight against god etc peter understood the blood was applied to our heart by hearing his voice thats y jesus said you are made clean by the word i have spoken unto you not by h20 th h.g. fell on all that heard his voice word gbu.

I read lots of nonsense here, I pray the Lord opens your eyes.
@ Beverly Adams Gentiles = all non Jews
@Alex Unless a man be born of WATER and of the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom! As for H2O the Lord himself set the example when he was baptised of John. Referring to the unclean animals the Lord was talking about literal animals, Jesus came to free us from the law..
  • Beverly Adams on Acts 10 - 5 years ago
Verses 45 is saying that the Gentiles was pour out the gift of the Holy Spirit and verse 46 said they speak in tongues and then in verse 48 Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. so if they were Gentiles they wasn't saved so how did they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

Acts 10 God showed Peter that sheet with all the UNCLEAN ANIMALS which was the CHURCH thats was made CLEAN by the BLOOD, BAPTISM OF THE H.G. NOT WATER BAPTISM THAT PETER WAS COMMANDING AFTER THAT GOD HAD MADE THEM CLEAN BY TH ULTIMATE CLEANSER,WHAT I HAVE HAVE MADE CLEAN DO NOT CALL COMMON OR UNCLEAN.GOD HAS MADE US ALL CLEAN BY THE BLOOD NOT H20 Peter was COMMANDING MAKING THE BLOOD OF NO EFFECT.
  • Bro Nick on Acts 10 - 5 years ago
People need to understand that Peter fell into a trance vision, and not reality. In v17, he was trying to figure what the vision meant. v28 was the answer to the vision because now we shouldn't call any man common or unclean. It has nothing to do with eating unclean animals. It was about the Most High accepting gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit. Eating unclean animals is still an abomination
  • Tomi on Acts 10 - 5 years ago
this chapter I understood that God does not deal only with the Israelites, but as long anyone is willing and open hearted receive what the Jews received freely including the spirit of God, The apostle in the dream segregated holiness from ungodliness but God told him that He will be the one to tell who is Holy or not Holy

Verse 39~Jesus' disciples saw and heard the things that he said and did. God made sure that these things were written down by his disciples for our benefit.

Matt (cont.) Rev. 12 and 13 depict very vividly about the Beast that rises out of the earth going forth to persecute and devour the Saints. Many of us always pictured those things as though they should happen in a small time frame; assuming it would mean the imminent response of indignation from heaven and Jesus' coming; instead of rather for understanding it as a forewarning, so we overcome.

Matt; That's a very easy answer:) "The tree is known by its fruits." In the Scriptures of Truth, the record from the beginning was that God would send His Son the Anointed born of a woman to break the devil's head and undo the ruin caused upon man because of sin. All through the ages beginning with Cain wicked men have listened to the devil to try and make themselves another way INSTEAD OF CHRIST!

  • A disciple on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
No one comes to the Father except through the Son! If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His! When HE is come (the Holy Spirit) He will not speak of Himself...He will glorify Me! A voice came from the excellent glory, This is my Son the Beloved, Hear Him! The Father is greater than I. That they all may be one, as we are one; as thou Father art in me and I in thee. Abide in me!

Read Acts 4:10-12 and Acts 2:38
In Matthew 28:19 we saw that we were to be baptized in the NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Well, those are not names, those are titles. Verse 12 states that the only name by which we can be saved is the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Glen Stuart on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
"In the name of Jesus" is the only way to approach God the Father. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man.

Thanks Chuck! Well said :) ! Talk to you soon.
  • A disciple on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
Hi Chuck; YES! Amen! "For there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved." And as far as if Peter (being full of the Holy Ghost) was "mistaken;" that's simply nonsense! The part that I was trying to emphasize, is how the Lord Himself commanded to baptize in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; and that one DOES NOT negate the other! But BOTH ARE TRUE!
  • Chuck on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
To disciple: another way to answer you is this: when I pray for a sick person, I pray in the name of Jesus as does everyone. When I give thanks over a meal, I say in the name of Jesus, as does everyone. And since Col3:17 says everything we do in word or deed , do all in the name of Jesus. That's what I mean when I say someone must be baptized in the name of Jesus. I hope this clarifies the issue.
  • Chuck on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
To disciple; because Peter had been with Jesus, he knew the singular name to use in baptism. Peter wasn't mistaken when he commanded the Jews and Gentiles to be baptized in the name of Jesus. He did exactly what Jesus commanded him to do. He found the singular name that is above all names. The name Jesus instead of titles.
  • A disciple on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
Hello Chuck; so what do you think that means, "In the Name of the Lord JESUS?" And without straining to falsely spiritualize, do you think it overrides what the Lord Himself said; "...In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost?"
  • Chuck on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
Notice Peter commanded Cornelius to be baptized in the name of Jesus , just as he commanded the Jews to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Also the name of the Lord is Jesus. So the Jews and gentiles were commanded to be baptized in the name of Jesus. It is very plain to me.
  • Ray321 on Acts 10 - 6 years ago
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints Thank Lord for your Word that is not confusing.
