People's Bible Notes for Acts 7:43

Ac 7:43 Ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch. Israel turned to the abominable worship of Moloch and other false gods, and hence shall be carried into Captivity. Moloch, a god of the Amorites, worshiped by human sacrifices. Remphan. Some planet worshiped as a god. Beyond Babylon. A punishment brought on all Israel for its sins, predicted by Amos (Am 5:25-27). Observe still his point of showing their national sinfulness.

V, 43 - " ... took up the tabernacle of Moloch. This is a reference to Solomon. He began right, but - he loved many women (which God did not sanction) and they led him into child sacrifice, 1 Kgs. 11:1. The 'star' of your god Remphan; Amos 5:26. The Jews still use this star.

Nobody That Dies In The State Of Ignorance Or Act Of Fanaticism In Order To Be A “Martyr,” That Would Go To The Paradise. It Is Better To Know On Whose Side One Is Dying. There has to be a general understanding here just as we can see the best way to defend God, rather than fighting for God. After which when all has been done, the will of God must be done. A great lesson here is that Stephen had f

Dewey J - I agree with you about Paul. I am just turned 75, have 'some' physical complaints, but as to real pain - the Lord only lets me bear one at a time, so far, so at least I can sleep with a couple of aspirin. When one goes away He lets another come on. And it's to Paul I look when I am in pain - 2Cor.11:24-27. My pain is nothing compared to that!!!

To all, there are few heroes in the Bible that equal the apostle Paul. Stephen was a great deacon St. Paul was not only one of the greatest apostles like the twelve whom Jesus said would sit on thrones with him ruling the nation of Israel in the millennium Matt. 19:28 KJV though Judas fell, but Paul also wrote over half of the New Testament. Praise God!

Michael C. touched on it lightly; has anyone REALLY noticed Stephen's speech? It was all by rote!! This man KNEW the O.T. scriptures!! How GLORIOUS! To love the Lord Jesus so much, that from his youth he learned them. And you know it was from his youth - Deut. 6:7; 2 Tim. 3:15 Little is said of Stephen, but - he was as great as Paul.
