Wesley's Notes for Acts 27:44

27:44 They all escaped safe to land - And some of them doubtless received the apostle as a teacher sent from God. These would find their deliverance from the fury of the sea, but an earnest of an infinitely greater deliverance, and are long ere this lodged with him in a more peaceful harbour than Malta, or than the earth could afford.

People's Bible Notes for Acts 27:44

Ac 27:44 And the rest. Others floated on any buoyant object that could be secured, and thus they escaped all safe to land. All came to shore. This was not Paul's first shipwreck. Compare 2Co 11:25, which was written at an earlier period of his life. Luke's description of the management of the ship in the storm and shipwreck is pronounced by scholars the best description of ancient nautical methods extant.
