for the same bible says that for whosoever that shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. and it is only the righteous that will be saved. this verse is telling us that God knows his children and the salvation that he promised us is sealed by the resurrection of his son. so in other for us to inherit this we should move away from sin.

I always saw GRACE as extra time to learn the TRUTH and get it right while you still have LIFE because HIS GRACE is sufficient and GRACE stop at the grave, then JUDGMENT.

This scripture shows the importance of delegating responsibility. Paul entrusted responsibility to Timothy and he in turn encouraged Timothy to entrust responsibility to others.

2 Tim 2.26 To recover yourself from the snare of the devil. This verse means exactly what it says. We know the devil comes to steal , kill and to destroy John 10.10 He dose not come to the unsaved he has them already. There for he comes to the saved. 1 Peter 5.8 Be sober, be vigilant alert, prepared because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brothers that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. James tells us to Draw near to God cleanse our hands of wickedness repent and God will draw near to us. Through worship and adoration we draw near to God . By praising him and lifting Him up he will draw us near to him and quicken His word to us that is bring it to our mind and then we resist the devil by the word as Jesus did then we start learning to walk in the Spirit alway with grace Praying and praising without ceasing if need be under our breathe as well. There by walking in the spirit.

This shows that some only taught part of the truth, they disregarded the miracle of his resurrection. Maybe, they were fearful men, they didn 't even visit Paul while he was imprisoned these two seemed to be modifying the word of God to make it appear more plausible. Little did these know that if they would have put their faith in God, these teachings would be spread to the four corners of the earth.

God has given us His word The Bible to study and grow in it and to share to others in order to face the challenges of life and to be victorious. The Bible says in Joshua 1:8 " This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. " It is when we study the Bible that this word will be in our mouths, and through this word in our mouths and hearts we shall 1. Know the Law of our God 2. Do as expected of us 3. Prosper and succeed in it 4. Get the weapon of word which is the sword of the Spirit to fight our battles. Ephesians 6:17. In short we must study God 's word The Bible to be stronger in the Lord. Ephesians 6:10-11. Jesus used the power and weapon of the word " IT IS WRITTEN " to conquer satan after His forty days and nights fast and prayer. Matthew 4: 1-11. Finally study the word, share the word of truth and let all believers get the power of the word to do all things. My own comment on 2 Timothy 2:15. Pastor Taiwo Olusoji Peter Nigeria .

In deed i came to realize one thing in life that one cannot go anywhere unless he she puts his her trust in God. Some time people are fond of lying to themselves that they cannot see what 's happening in the real word. May have tried to mock God but the question is that most of them "where are they? " some are no more. Christians, when we trust in God and believe that HE saves then that is when God shall reveal HIMSELF through as so as the whole world can know Who HE is. Another way God cannot also reveal Himself through various situations that you go through. Sometimes people god through hard situations and ask themselves so many questions as to whjy they should go through such. The answer is simple, God cannot reveal himself through not only one way, even Jesus underwent the same situation and he was able to overcome. Friends, even me i sometimes go through such cases but through persistent trust in God we are able to overcome as per my experience.

I am not to be strong in myself. I am to be strong in the Grace that God has provided for me through Jesus Christ. The Grace of God teaches me to deny ungodliness . I am to be strong in His word and in the power of His might. Not by power , nor by might , but by my Spirit , saith the Lord of hosts. I needed this for today.

  • Lilian on 2 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
Jesus wants us to be still and know that he is the Son of the Living God who comfort protecting us and save us. There is no more pain, worries, curses as Jesus took everything on the cross already we are now live because of Jesus forgiveness. Lets give thanks to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us. We must obey, follow and live like Jesus until rapture. Jesus will fight the battle for us as Jesus had anointed us, therefore nobody can touch his anointed one. Lets be still and walk with Jesus with faith and not by sight. whatever may difficulties we have its only a turbulence in life which we are not prepared but Jesus will cover us from his precious blood. Our job now is to believe on Jesus that he is our Savior. Be blessed and be humble in everything we do we must represent Jesus. Jesus loves you and he is faithful to his promises that he will never ever leave us nor forsake us. Amen

Suffering is a part of life when it come to living for Christ Jesus. Jesus suffer and die for my sin so why can 't I suffer for my own sin that I commit. As a soilder of Jesus Christ we have the faith and the power to handle what come our way. The word says: I can do all things through Christ who straingten me.

Enduring hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ when you are taking a stand on God 's word for Jesus Christ. Gos has equipped us with His armor : helmet of salvation : breastplate of righteousness : loins girt about with Truth : feet shod with the gospel of peace : sword of the Spirit to quench the firey darts of the wicked shield of faith. Praying always with all prayer for all saints : Persecuted for righteousness sake. Many a time I have been put down for my faith in Jesus Christ through out the years I have been with my Lord .I will confess : I don 't know if I can do it when in front of a firing squad : If I ever have to , I believe my Lord God Almighty will equip me with every ounce of His strength. Amen !!

  • Brian Carpenter on 2 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
This chapter to me, is an exhortation to be faithful to sound doctrine in the face of apostasy. " Study to shew thyself approved ". So many "babes in Christ " are subject to "doubtful disputations " and are still carnal in their daily lives. Satan preys on these people trying to lead them astray. But God is faithful. There 's always a brother or sister to help them get back on track.
  • Mike smith on 2 Timothy 2:26 - 9 years ago
Some calvinists use this verse as meaning "someone cannot be saved unless God allows them to be ". The verse says to "recover themselves ", not "deliver themselves ". Recovering is different than delivering, implying that the individual 's walk was previously godly. If the individual was delivered then they were never saved to start with. Someone cannot recover something if they did not possess it already. Any comments or corrections are welcomed, this is just my take on it so far.
