2 Timothy is a good book to read, because God inspired Apostle Paul through the Holy Spirit to write it. Reading all of Paul's episode is inspiring for what he had to go through, even the beating and rejection from his other Apostles. All we have to do is read Romans through Philemon and find out why. Please let this go through in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. ......

To Jerry - How were you baptized? in the'words' of Matt.28:19 or in the NAME of Jesus of Acts 2:38? There is a difference. note - JESUS very words of Matt. 28:19, "baptizing them in the NAME of....." father, son, and holy ghost are His- titles; His name is JESUS. Acts 4:12 - "for here is NONE other name under heaven whereby we MUST be saved."

Yes, V7, is a blessing, as we live here on the Navajo Reservation, "Skin Walkers" everywhere on this Rez. Putting the "spook" on people, and people so afraid! But His Promises enable us to keep on going for the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Excellent verse, tremendously "POWERFUL!" Thank God, that I am saved, and one day He is coming back for us...Keep believing, keep on trusting him, it's almost over.
  • Alex on 2 Timothy 1 - 7 years ago
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear has no place in the life of a believer, love covers a multitude of sin and our memories are blessed. As many as accepted HIM HE gave the power to become the sons of God.
  • Lindy on 2 Timothy 1 - 7 years ago
My favorite verse is 2 Timothy 1:7. In Christ we have love, power, and a sound mind. Fear casts out these attributes, but through Christ's power we overcome all fear! PTL!

I was outside earlier, taking in the day and enjoying the scenery. I looked up to the sky, threw out my arms, and thanked the Lord for all His blessings. Just now, I found this in my email. God is definitely talking. He is always there, for all of us, and we just have to believe and love Him.

Jesus , when He was on the cross committed His spirit into His Father's care !! Jesus was not ashamed to have God has His Father : So likewise should I make a bold statement that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and live my life in accordance with His word no matter what I may go through. I know ,have an intimate relationship with Him and I believe and I commit myself into His care.
  • Danny on 2 Timothy 1 - 7 years ago
It depicts the necessity of our personal relationship with God and that intimate relationship bond of love speaks with courage. That is the strength of the relationship or personal experience in with whom believed in.

Apostle Paul full of Grace could not hide his feelings or Love for his Spiritual Son "Timothy" haven recognized the unwavering or unshakable faith of Timothy which He traced to his grandmother and his biological mother Eunice. However, Apostle Paul in his advise encourage Timothy not to consider his age, but rather depend on the Grace of God ( The God's ability). Make alive the gift of God in you.

God does not giving us the Spirit of Fear but a Spirit of Power, Love and in Sound Mind. Let not your heart be troubled for God is a God of Peace and Life in abundance. Only believe in Jesus and obey his words and commandments until rapture. Our Faith comes only by hearing the word of God and Faith is a gift from God. Without our Obedience to his words and Faith to God its impossible to please him. Thanks to Jesus for the Blood that shed for us. His Blood are more than enough to saved us. There is no other Jehovah its only Jesus the Provider, our Shalom..I love you and trust you Lord forever for you are worthy to be praised. Amen

Brittany, Praise God. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Dear friend. He saved us to have intimacy with Him and to work with him in the beauty of his holiness. When he said, "Be ye Holy" it was not a request, it was a command. And God doesn't command us to do anything that he won't empower us to do. Read the Bible Everyday, Pray, and Do Your Daily Work You've Got to Be Serious About the Lord Jesus! God is a good Father He takes great care of his children: he protects, comforts, provides, teaches, nurtures, guides, loves, admonishes, reproves, corrects, and desires your good. May God Be with you. We mankind fear because we do not trust that God can take care of us. We have been hurt by family and friends and we tend to view God in that light--that of the human. However, despite our doubts and fears, He calls gently to us to trust Him.
  • Gospel mike on 2 Timothy 1:12 - 8 years ago
God's words remains the most desirable part of me, I love the courage and the bold faith of Paul, fearless and willing to give all for his love for christ.
  • Ojo michael on 2 Timothy 1 - 8 years ago
I also wonder why we continue to live in fear and are merciless despite that 2 Timothy 1 verse 7 assured us that no believer is given "a spirit of fear or timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control". I think the answer lies in knowing who we belief and totally surrendering to Him.
  • Mary Ostendorf on 2 Timothy 1 - 8 years ago
Why do we still have so much fear and so little mercy?
