Wesley's Notes for 2 Timothy 3:16

3:16 All scripture is inspired of God - The Spirit of God not only once inspired those who wrote it, but continually inspires, supernaturally assists, those that read it with earnest prayer. Hence it is so profitable for doctrine, for instruction of the ignorant, for the reproof or conviction of them that are in error or sin, for the correction or amendment of whatever is amiss, and for instructing or training up the children of God in all righteousness.

People's Bible Notes for 2 Timothy 3:16

2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God. The Revised Version is much better: "Every Scripture inspired of God is also profitable", etc. Whether it is depends on its inspiration. For instance, the Apocrypha is called Scripture, but is not inspired. For doctrine. For teaching.

    V. 6 - We all have friends like this - men like this also. We can witness to them but only for a short time because they don't want to hear it; they have their own way; we can PRAY for them tho' and that is more powerful in the long run; just our lives of holiness will be a witness to them. But we have to be CONSISTENT because they are watching us.

I was thinking of those who search for God but the natural desires of humankind wants to see and hold on to physical attachment to a God whom they thought is carnal like us. Therefore, resulted in chasing not the true spiritual knowledge of God but after their own weakneses.
