Verse 23~Ahithophel betrayed David and he ended up committing suicide and later Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus and also committed suicide. Betrayal is not a quality that we want to ever have.
v 23 "..and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried.." See the resemblance to Judas Iscariot? Only Judas apparently didn't even care about his house and those he would leave behind! So the end of the DAMNED TRAITOR! Once a friend, but in the end a wicked backstabbing murderer! Oh, but he was an orderly and thoughtful man! (sarcasm)
7-16 Here is a good example of how God entices the wicked by their own wickedness and draws them into His net those who spread a net for Him. The LORD has prepared the means by which HE WILL destroy the wicked and the traitors: and in that plan is our part to get ready for what comes, and let them chase us to draw them into the snare that God has set for them. The LORD will deliver us and save us!
Naomi's, this means to put one's personal affairs in order. To make or confirm a will and burial plans also to provide for a spouse and other relatives or primary get right with God etc. Praise God in the highest through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God is all powerful and can turn the heart of kings. Prov 21:1. Thank you Lord for reminding us of your gracious love and and daily benefits.
