No, We are not going to heaven. According to this: Matthew 5:5 Meek Inherit the Earth.

Adam and Eve was supposed to live forgive on this Earth in Pardise and be fruit and have a children but they failed and disobey in the name of God.

He said he promised for righteous and unrighteous to live here forever and removed the wick of the system of things. Wait a minute.. Unrighteous too ? Yes.. Here: The book goes on to sayBut why will Jesus permit a man who was a criminal to live in Paradise?

Acts 24:15: I have a hope in God (a hope that these men themselves accept too) that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Luke 23:42 42 And he said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. 43 And he said to him, Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.

Other criminal insulted Jesus will not come with him in Paradise at all.

So that the unrighteous will have an opportunity to prove that he love God in new Earth right here. Yes, for one thousand years.

God has a name. Jesus said: Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified Matthew 6:9.

The father has a name. Go to your bible and you will be shock even your churches a false churches do not taught God's name. God and Lord is the subjects! PSALM 83:18 -- His name is what ? Yes, JEHOVAH!

i think it means that the earth was once surrounded by water, just outside the atmosphere, like a bubble. it protected the planet and made it a paradise. but satan sinned and God shook the earth, the water fell and destroyed everything (end of the first earth age)

God does not delight in the death of sinners but gives sinners an opportunity to repent. Some blessings are delayed because God is patient with sinners, he is a forgiving God who does not want his people to perish in sin.

Some may wonder why Jehovah has not brought an end to the suffering we see on earth yet. This verse shows that he is giving all a chance to turn around and come to serve him in a way that is pleasing to him. God knows just when to end this wicked world. In the mean time, we can be grateful that his patience is leaving the way open for many to change their ways and draw close to him.

So many people think that every single Christian on the planet will be taken to heaven when Jesus comes back. But what they don't realize is that only the perfected Christians will go. To escape the tribulation that will come we must be perfected in the fruits of the Holy Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith (in God), humility, and self-control.

this chapter tells me that the simplicity of gods word will be overlooked by many. Many in that day will say unto him lord, lord on that great and notible day and the lord will know them not. Be weary of those that claim they know gods word. be weary of those that claim the truth is harder to be understood than it is. Let us be like the tax collecter preying in front of the temple that looked unto heaven and said father forgive me for i am a sinner. dont tell god of your good works when you pray. ask him to forgive you when you pray. Its not what you dont do that will send you to heaven its what you do.

This is an argument that fills the minds of many in this generation. People, lets not act like Christ's coming is far yet in reality; we are in those days that were prophesied in history.
  • Timothy Sims on 2 Peter 3:17 - 11 years ago
What a powerful book and chapter! Peter understands that the Lord's coming back and implores us to be ready. He gives strict warnings to us not to be led away with the error of the wicked... once saved, always saved? Only if you don't walk away or are not led away that he wont leave us. But we can leave him... The bible bears this out through and through. Dont forget these letters.

This perfectly describes the first earth age where Satan rebelled and God destroyed that age. This is where the book of Genesis picks up.

Even so, come Lord Jesus. We are to watch for His appearing! Matthew 25:13
  • Timothy Wayne George on 2 Peter 3 - 11 years ago
Peter is helping us to understand that in the last days, there will be many scoffers walking after their lust, saying where is this promise of the coming of the Lord. Since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they have, but they say this willing because of their lust. Unlearned and unstable men wrest the scriptures to say things that are not inspired by God. Paul was given wisdom by God, and he wrote about the day of the Lord would come as a thief in the night. Peter goes on to say that the heavens will pass away with a great noise and fervent heat. Since all these things are going to happen, we should have a holy conversation, and live a godly life so that day will soon come. God is patient toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all men would come to repentance. The heavens are reserved unto fire for the ungodly, and men of perdition. There is a heaven where there dwells righteousness, and we are to be found in peace with God to go there. When we repent of our sins, and turn to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are imputed with the righteousness of Christ. We will be ready for the day of the Lord. The promise of God is sure, and a day is as a 1000 yrs. to God, so we have to be patient as we wait for the Lord's coming.

"Beloved" Though this epistle is the written work of Peter, but inspired by the spirit of the God, here we see the execution of God's TRUE LOVE to us. Hardly people call others their BELOVED.But here the apostle of the Savior and the Lord says and addresses the believers as Beloved. It is wonderful to be loved by the very God who is the creator and the forgiver/savior of the whole world. He fell into such an extent that though he being in the supreme position of the whole universe he descended to this earth in the form of man. Today the most of the world denies HIM because he came as an ordinary man, not the son of a king, or one of the richest heirs of this world. That is why he was mocked right from the beginning right from his birth and it is ongoing... (to be contd)

Since the Lord wishes all men be saved, he is patiently giving them all the opportunities to come to him, repent, & obey all his commandments & statutes.
  • Garyloyd on 2 Peter 3 - 12 years ago
Peter writes to stir our pure minds and that we be sincer and think about what these Prophets,Apostles have told us.in the last days the scoffers, are coming chasing after their own lusts. Trouble makers and mockers. Them that don't believe and don't believe Jesus will return and things are just like they think & say it has been the same and nothing has changed ever since the very beginning the first world age. Peter is gona tell us what they are ignorant about. But by the Word of God the heavens were of old and there was and old earth ( Isaiah 45:18,and if you read 19 you will see God tells you to seek, nothing hidden, God created earth beautifull ) also of this earth that is now (peter is saying, that is standing out of the water and in the water. This earth now is new earth age. Now in 6 he tells us,whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water in Jeremiah 4 it was brought to a wasted wilderness Perished. Peter is going to say something so listen, 7. But the heavens and the earth, which are now that I`m standing on and pointing down at the dirt so you will know this earth, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of of judgment and perdition(death,or die.) of ungodly men. It goes on to tell us 1000 years is a Day. And that "elements" that will be burned off earth is evil "rudiments". All evil. Be good and love the LORD and don't have anything laying around that he don't like. He flooded the Earth once at the katabole and then again when He targeted the geber and any half flesh half fallen angels at the 2nd flood of Noah. We keep this earth and God rejuvenates it and it took 7000 years and we were replenished in the flesh and satan and his bunch left their first estate, heaven, and tried to distroy Gods Plan. But when satan and his kenites killed Christ,God with us, God put them in chains and satans spirit can only cause problems. Anyway if you look up most of the "foundations" in the New Testamant you will see it means "cast down, overthrow, katabole. The Companion Bible has Appendix 146 that puts it all out there for us.

2 peter 3:8-9 Now is not the time to fall short of the mark, but keep on living this life style because God is true to his word .He is coming back for his children and to judge the ones who are not his children.
  • Early005 on 2 Peter 3 - 12 years ago
Peter was really speaking through the Holy Spirit, because there are a lot of people that doubt the return ot our Savour. They are asking the same question, they are making the same remarks "where is he"? But let us who are a true believer continue to wait patiently on our Lord and Saviour.

The word elelents # 4747 means rudiments. To say only the Evil part that's on earth will be destroyed and what's good is left here. The Holy Spirit can touch you with a warm feeling of love or if your not of God`s it will burn you. He made salvation for all. Just repent and think. God created us as children to love and isn't out to hurt any of His children and will not have them that want to be around to do so. Wants us safe.
  • Derek on 2 Peter 3 - 13 years ago
linda, satan has many fearing things they should not! as the plagues in egypt were going on from the insects to the fire raining down not one of Gods children were hurt!!! God is able to keep us from these things. God does not allow satan to harm His children ( Rev 9:4-5). God needs people here to fight and do work for God! Remember God is a consumning fire ( Heb 12:29). To His children it is warming and comfort but to the unjust it is something different.
