This chapter vividly describes the World through the Ages. By that, I mean it describes the results of following our own instincts instead of following the commandments of God and the way He wishes for us to live. Can ANYONE deny that our "popular culture" is NOT as instantly recognizable here to you as it is to me? The God-fearing among US are despised by those who wander about, following their wanton lusts, drunk on drugs, perverted sex, and bloody violence at the video arcade and the cinema! They will meet their end swiftly as also we who follow God's law will meet Him that created us.

We are made in the image of God. When we break the commandments or live by society's morals rather than those set forth by God, we move further from his image; hence, further from God. To feel close to God is the greatest gift to be found in this world and the greatest and, sometimes, only true comfort. I know he was close to me when I was on a ventilator for 12 days and overheard nurses saying they didn't think I would make it. God felt very close and, while I did not like the ventilator, I was not fearful.

Faith is trusting in God. Works bring blessings. Works are being a good Christian. Even a smile to a sick child or helping an older person through a door are counted. God is love. If asked "what do you believe in". JESUS the Son of the Living God. And help them that have questions. God loves us who seek the truth in His word and we are all here learning from each other.

in Ephesians chapter 2 verse For by Grace are ye saved though Faith;and that not of yourseles:it is the gift of God:verse 9 not of works, lest any man should boast.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

I cannot accept that I am more better than you because only the Lord Jesus Christ know the heart of a person. So, we the believers must have a competition to each other to become pleasing to his sight, in John 3:22. a person can enter into the kingdom of heaven must have a pure heart. Faith alone and works of a Pastor/Minister/Reverence/Priest cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven if you accept verse Mat. 7:21. Our God will judge to our works whether good or bad. Our God will not judge to our faith to Him. But God judge us is based in His words. Supporting verses : 2 Cor. 5:10; John 12:48 & Ecclesias. 12:14.

An attempt to help reconcile the aparent merit works passages with the grace/faith ones. I feel that one major determining factor is where it is written. Heb. 9:16-17 indicate that the new testament only went into effect at the cross. There are numerous indicators that Jesus was talking to people who were still under the law of Moses. His message through the Apostles after the church began, is inner change through believing and confessing his promises. Among many other passages, Roman 10:5... separates the two. It is by the exceeding great and precious promises that we can be participants of the divine nature ( 2 Peter 1:4). Jesus said,"this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He has sent(Jn.6:29). He that has entered into His rest has also ceased from his own works. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest. 2 Pet.2:9 says "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations". Maybe the evil doers of this chapter were taught to "deny the Lord that bought them"(see V.1). Jesus is the answer-beware of religion.

to you who I don't know your name, I don't really know what are you looking for. If the verses i gave to you does a matter to you, I'm not pretty smart as you are, and i don't know where are you heading to. Only God know the heart of a person. I hope that you are more better than me in God's sight. God bless you

In Eph. 2:8&9 the word Soul is not written & also the two verses did not say that through faith our soul can enter into heaven. Reconcile Eph. 2:8&9 to Mat. 7:21 that he that doeth the will of father can enter into heaven. The word salvation is very broad.

Repentance means putting away/turn away all our sins. The question is ?. This kind of repentance, it is a work, or it is a grace?. Give me a verse in the bible that through grace our soul be saved, because I could not read that through grace our soul is saved and can enter into the kingdom of heaven.

to anonymous, the only thing you have to do in order to be saved is by repentance, putting away all the sins that you've been committed, and turning 180 degrees to Jesus, accept Him as your personal savior, cause there is no doubt He will forgive you,and give you the Holy Spirit to discern what is good or bad,and pray that He will lead you the way ( because He said I am the way, the truth and the life )to choose which group of saved people of God (His Church) where you going to grow more about His word, cause someday when Jesus will gather His flock which is the church,is not only ang dating daan that cris commercialized his church, but the true church of Christ is you and me and people who saved by His grace. You are no longer anonymous if you accept Christ as your personal savior, because your name will be written up in heaven. God loves you.

The questioned is ?. In what Way our Soul be save ? and can enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Truly that the bible was written only for the Children of God or what we call the body of Christ which is the CHURCH that he purchased in the cross... But which Chruch? because a lot of Group today claims that they are the true "church of god". Jesus said in (mat.24:5) "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many". So we have to becareful on what are we choosing to believe...May we invite you to log on our website ((Link) werein you can watch and ask any biblical matter with regard to our salvation.... see you there!!! God Bless!!!

I teach a Bible study at a Baptist church and am somewhat concerned over the lack of study concerning the unforgivable sin of which Peter alludes to here. Jesus himself even stated there was a sin for which his blood would not atone...the sin of apostasy. Since only believers can commit it, it falls upon us to sound the alarm that ones faith must be lived actively each and every day. Works alone are not enough, but must be accompanied by a holy attitude and motivations, righteous in nature. This by no means should be understood to say that we are constantly in danger of being an apostate, but on the other hand, we had better be aware of the duty and responsibility of serving our Lord and Savior on a consistent basis with the constant assistance of the Holy Spirit. The price paid for your and my salvation was great and as the Word declares, "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required;" Luke 12:48.

I totally agree with you, Katrina. I appreciate your honesty. I too feel challenged as you have. I wrote these words this morning, before I felt God lead me to this page.

    My heart really knows
    That you are perfect
In every way youre more than enough
    My mind wants to say
    That it gets confused
And I know this is not news to you

You know everything about me Lord
Every bit of deception and discord
I will not run away or hide from you
Instead I come seeking change to bring approval

    Yet you say:
WHILE WE WERE SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US
    Yet you say:
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM YOUR LOVE
But I want to be as perfect as you Jesus
For that is what the law says I should be
And though you nailed its requirement upon the cross
There are days I know Im not fully free

OPEN MY EYES LORD TO GREATER TRUTH
RESTORE THE DEW OF MY JADED YOUTH
FILL ME WITH YOUR DUNAMIS POWER
CHRIST IN ME THE HOPE OF GLORY
WRITE THAT STORY UPON MY HEART
I WANT TO LIVE BEYOND REPROACH
GIVE ME FAITH TO HOPE AND BELIEVE
THAT I WILL END AS PERFECT AS YOU ARE
AND LEAVE A LEGASY TO HELP OTHERS BREAK THOUGH
AND LEAVE A LEGASY TO HELP OTHER BREAK THROUGH

My hope to get to the destination of which we speak, is to remember what manner of man I am in Christ and rest my hope fully upon his grace. We do however have to make a purposeful and determined decision though, as you have done. God bless you and all who seek to live Godly in Christ Jesus.

I feel these scriptures are for the men and women of god. I know god wrote the bible for everyone ,but I feel he is really trying to address Christians . God wants us to get rid of alot of hidden sin. He wants us to get rid of the sin that is within our hearts. God wants us to clean up not only our natural lives but our spiritual souls . God said it's best that we not what we're doing than to know and do it anyway. After reading this chapter I feel god was speaking to me . I want to see him and know I won't if I don't clean up what's within my heart.
