Only the spirit of God can reveal this thank you Jesus Christ you are the alpha and omega.
  • Saundra Anderson on 2 Peter 2 - 7 years ago
This is one of the most sobering chapters in the Bible as it is a warning to all of us to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. We are to be careful of our manner of living and of being in the company of scoffers and unbelievers,as just Lot was, plus listening to those who deny the faith. Sad is the end result of these people! They become wandering stars to whom the darkness is reserved forever!
  • Wayne on 2 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
Jim, idle words in Stones concordance means useless words. Important words build up the body of Christ. Useful words proclaim Christ. OK?
  • Al on 2 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
    I need to tighten up.
  • Jim on 2 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
    please define idle words
  • John madden on 2 Peter 2:21 - 8 years ago

  • Cynthia Mclaney on 2 Peter 2:21 - 9 years ago
I 'd like to talk to somebody about the scripture 2nd Peter 2 21
  • Brianna on 2 Peter 2:9 - 9 years ago
What an apt scripture. With all the evil going on in the world, this scripture highlights that God is well aware of all the evil going on in the world, n a personal and individual level. He preserving those who practice vile things for his great day of Judgment. Those who kept their integrity even under trial, Jehovah God has taken note, and will reward in a larg way.
  • Brianna on 2 Peter 2:21 - 9 years ago
It is one thing to practice sin out of ignorance. However, to practice sin after knowing full well Jehovah God 's standards is unacceptable. Individuals can not use phrases such as "God knows me " or " only God can judge ". He already has given the judgement for those who practice sin, not out of ignorance, but out of rebellion.
  • Joni G on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
Hannah, look at verse 9. God knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations. This part of the sentence is set apart with a comma and the rest of the chapter deals with the ungodly. Some have left their first love, Christ, some are teaching error, not following Christ. We can pray that they repent and come back to God.
  • Joni G on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
Hannah, awesome you are memorizing the chapter. Accursed children are thosecwho live in error, follow after the world and reject Christ. They are not believers.
  • Hannah Young on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
I am memorizing this passage for school right now. The only part of the it that I don 't understand is in verse 14 where it says " an heart they have exercised with covetous practices cursed children ". What does the cursed children part mean?
  • Larry Reagan Evangelist on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
Live right or go to HELL!!!!
  • Denise rainey on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
When we realize within our entire being the magnitude of what Christ 's finished work did for us we can only desire to live for Him and do His work among the ungodly not to judge but love them into the kingdom! I find that their lifestyle vexes my soul but need to follow Phil. 4 8Be anxious for nothing and that will make me trust hard to follow Him! It 's another opportunity to trust and obey on my part!
  • Harry Collins on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
This portion of the bible is really indicating that our God is no respecter of persons. If he could not spare his angels and people of the old who sinned against him, there is no way he is going to spare us.Therefore my brethren let us all strive with the best of our abilities God helping us to see that we all make it at last.
  • Sis sasha on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
we as children of GOD must make our calling and election sure we must live holy and always be ready for no man knoweth the day or hour the LORD shall appear we must have a relationship with GOD and study his word day and night we must be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters that when enemy comes we are bullet proof by the holy ghost.

  • Zbeee on 2 Peter 2 - 10 years ago
The Lord warned that everyone will need to give an account of every idle word they ve used A lot of you folks who have commented here need to heed this
  • Jesus: the Light of the world on 2 Peter 2:1 - 10 years ago
This is to the unsaved hence the destruction part and John 5 24 is proof No condemnation for the saved The explanations above are quite wordy and may scare many into believing they have to work harder to be pure Quite the opposite message is really being given in this verse If Jesus bought you with his blood YOU ARE PURE forever and old man has died never to be unclean again Remember the law justifies no one Galatians 2 16 a heresy would be saying the law does justify and that people should work it diligently to be righteous impossible and it denies Jesus incredible gift Another heresy would be that Jesus Christ the Saviour and light of the world was not enough Woe Do not be a foolish Galatian Do not walk in Darkness instead KNOW you re saved by his blood and that eternal redemption was obtained FOR US by Him Not us Hebrews 9 12 Have the Light of Life John 8 12 Men will attempt to speak death on you for laws that justify no one and the saved are not under They are Pharisee like and should be ignored 100 No one can be self righteous and only a fool thinks Jesus did not cover all They walk in dark death
  • Justice on 2 Peter 2:4 - 10 years ago
I speak life and wisdom and a heart of willingness to turn to God , upon allllll who live amen!! Have mercy on us oh Lord please we beg of you for we know not what we are doing, but you knowwll things andnyou see everything.
  • Lonnie N. Crawley Jr. on 2 Peter 2:13 - 10 years ago
The subtlety of Lucifer's deceitful craft (skill)is beyond mortal man's capacity with which to deal. It's enough that an individual here and there is granted at least partial illumination of the devil's devices (syncretism), but such an individual might himself despair in his effort to enlighten others. There aren't many Daniels in this lifetime and those few, in their maturity (perfection), perhaps come to realize that their primary contribution to the present and only Kingdom of God on Earth is in prayer for their brethren.

"When you can't talk to men about God, talk to God about men."

God-In-Christ is Sovereign over all (good and evil), and He SHALL deliver His elect remnant. Christ's atonement is 100% successful among the "10%" remnant. The majority fodder don't figure into the equation. That certainty bestows personal peace on those who may have previously burdened themselves with the task of thologically greasing the axis of the earth daily.

It's likely that the graciously shed blood of the elect is the testimony that ultimately adds credence to one's lifelong, imperfect testimony.

To God be all the praise, honor and glory forever. Amen.

Verse 3: "And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you". Does this passage mean, correct me if I'm wrong, since the papal organization charges money to forgive your sins or pay money to absolve your marriage (divorce so you can marry another), make YOU merchandise that they have bought?
  • EVANGELIST KUTESA JOVAN on 2 Peter 2:4 - 10 years ago
SURELY BY HIS WORD GOD IS GOING TO JUDGE EVERY ONE THE HUMANS AND ANGELS .THOSE WHO HAVE ACCEPTED THE TRUTH HAVE PASSED JUDGEMENT BUT THOSE THAT HAVE REJECTED IT THEN ARE GOING TO BE JUDGED .GOD DID NOT SPARE HIS ANGELS THAT SINNED SO THIS TIME, HE WONT SPARE ANY SINNER WHO HAS NOT BELIEVED IN THE TRUTH.TURN TO GOD BECAUSE TIME IS NO MORE DEAR.
  • Tanya on 2 Peter 2:22 - 10 years ago
when the lord free you from something or someone and then you turn or go back to it or them its like a dog returning back to his own vomit to vain pleasure.
  • Timothy Wayne George on 2 Peter 2 - 11 years ago
Jesus warned us to beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep clothing, but are ravenous wolves. We are told we shall know them by their fruits. The fruits of the Spirit love, peace, joy, meekness, self control, kindness and against such there is no law. Lot was a preacher of righteousness, and he was vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked in his day. Our conversation is in heaven, from which we look for the Lord Jesus Christ to come, and change our vile bodies into His glorious body. Let your conversation be free from covetousness. Beware of the prodigal pigs, for they shall return to the mire, because that is the nature of a pig. The prodigal son said I shall return to my father's house, for even the servants have food to eat. The son of God will not remain in sin. If any man sins, he has an Advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous one, who will plead our case. Thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit, for He seals us unto the coming day of Christ.
