The Bible is self interpreting, using letter writing
rule, anybody can readily understand its meaning and
continue to proclaim it as ordered.
    The rule is:
The historical data- the who it's from and to or when
The doctrinal data or instruction or personal like
the Pauline epistles i.e. Bridegroom letters to us
the church or bride of Jesus Christ our Lord.
The spiritual data or devotional that ties the
entire Old and New Testament - Comparing scripture
with scripture with none of your lawyering.

Don't play God, Allow him to play you. God uses
prayer and scripture study and meditation to use
you properly and at the right exact moment.

It's important to remember verse 20 & 21 when people try to discredit the word by saying "it was written by man a long time ago and there are probably errors with their writing."

Yes, it was written by man, but they were MOVED by the Holy Ghost. So, man was basically a living, breathing, "pencil" for God.
  • David Stuart on 2 Peter 1:17 - 12 years ago
This is the Father acknowledging and glorifying the Son. The Gospels, in referring to His baptism speak of a "voice fromn heaven"; the "excellent glory" seems to be in line with the Son's thoughts of the Father: "I have glorfied thee on the earth ...". ( John 17). The bible is true in its entirety simply because mortal man simply does not have the imagination or the powers of expression to make this up. Praise His Name; Hallelujah.

This verse only mean that, through the knowldge of the divine power of Him who has called us into glory and vitue, we have the access into all thngs that a full and godly life requires to have. In Christ,we are complete indeed.

The word interprets itself. In the verse :)
  • Ben weaver on 2 Peter 1:4 - 13 years ago
Wow! V. 4 is a great and precious statement informing us of "exceeding great and precious promises" by which we can participate in the great and precious nature of God. Knowing (experiencing) Jesus our Lord(V.2) is the only way that we have access to the all things that pertain to life and godliness. These priviledges are apparently not endowed directly on believers, but available to those who actively obey in pursueing them. Being in Christ, voluntary humility to degrade ourselves as worthless, seems not to be productive or pleasing to God. Personalizing and actively receiving the promises with thanksgivingseems to God, seems to be God's plan for us. "Without faith it is impossible to please God"( Heb. 11:6). Let's go find the promises.

    I like this (NASV) 1:20:
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is {a matter} of one's own interpretation
  • Bongani Mzayiya on 2 Peter 1:3 - 13 years ago
When i read this scripture it create so much boldness and confidence in my Heavenly Father, to know that He has already supplied{given} me all things from this life until eternity. All i have to do is to receive and believe

This verse clearly shows that any private interpretation of Scripture is wrong. This then says that the Protestant view of sola scriptura is invalid because there is no one Protestant authority that has the divine right to explain Scripture. If the Protestant view is that Scripture is the divine word of God, then how do they square themselves with this verse 2 Peter 1:20?

Don't prepare for something that may hurt you. Listen to the Word. The word Church translates "set apart ones,or set aside, meaning, the person becomes a disciple/student and loves God/Christ.study with the Holy Spirit, pray. It`s not a building or a group of people calling themselves a religious name. Now as you read the Bible you will see that the Elect stay and stand against the anti-christ. If the Elect stay till the 7th trump, who God loves and shorten the time from 7 years to 5 months and then we see also that them that see the truth and during the 5 month period ,they turn away from anti-christ and being apart of the one world system at that time and listen, thesee churches how could a group of people who say they are going to fly away,HOW? Then on top of knowing that God in Ezekiel 13 says He hates them who try to save their own soul or teach it. They say that Christ is going to make a special trip for them between the 6th trump and the 7th, when God/Christ told us He will come at the 7th trump. Don't be deceived. Don't chase after no man, wait! There are 2 witnesses coming 10 days ahead. Watch for them. They are from GOD AND WILL BE PREACHING AGAINST THE SYSTEM AND ANTI-CHRIST. PAY YOUR RENT AND BILLS AND BUY FOOD FOR 3 MONTHS. DON'T BOW DOWN OR GET INTO THEIR SYSTEM. Anti-christ/instead of christ is going to use that fly you away. You can get a board and fly away to heaven if you bow down to our christ but its not the real Christ.. Don't! If its not in the Seals/program its not going to happen. First warning in Mark 13 and Matt and luke. Don't be deceived by any man. Don't go in the desert to find or follow Jesus.(1) the elect are the Church and we are Sealed in our minds. (2) we stay here and the Holy Spirit speaks through us. (3) rapture is not in the Bible except where God states He hates it. (4) who is going to fly, people going to Hell. G

If anybody tried himself to grow more definitely he will fall. But if any one band his head before God then the power of God will work. Dont try yourself but try to hold the hands of God He will raise you.
  • Lily on 2 Peter 1 - 13 years ago
Iknow that if I keep my faith in Jesus Christ and continue to walk upright before Him. By the power of the Holy Ghost that resides within me. I will go back with Jesus when He raptures the church. I must live each day as if it is the day of His return for His church.
  • Lorie on 2 Peter 1 - 13 years ago
The lord said in his word that if we are saved we will take off the old man and put on the new the things we use to do we don't do any more so we need to let our light shine where ever we may go

THE BIBLE SAYS BLESEED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN,BUT YET BELEIVE.I AM A BELIEVER BY FAITH,AND I KNOW THAT JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL AND HE SITTED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER AND HE MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US.
