Wesley's Notes for 2 Peter 3:15

3:15 And account the longsuffering of the Lord salvation - Not only designed to lead men to repentance, but actually conducing thereto: a precious means of saving many more souls. As our beloved brother Paul also hath written to you - This refers not only to the single sentence preceding, but to all that went before. St. Paul had written to the same effect concerning the end of the world, in several parts of his epistles, and particularly in his Epistle to the Hebrews. #Rom 2:4|.

    Vs. 8-9
These verses really give glimpse into how God views time. Vs. 8 can help us understand that the creative days were not literal 24 hour periods, but the term "day" can refer to a span of years. Vs. 9 highlights God's mercy and shows that he is being patient allowing as much time as possible to elapse for us to come to an approved standing with Him.

im sure that means only that which is evel will burn up

Vv. 12 and 13 state the heavens and the earth will be burned up, dissolved. So we look for NEW heavens and a NEW earth. Jesus, in Matt. 24:35, states Heaven and earth shall pass away. Not a renovation, new. Wherein dwelleth righteousness.

    Vs. 13
Had to come back! As we are living in the last days in the Bible, this scripture helps me not to become discouraged Jehovah God has made a promise, and that is to give us a cleansed earth. Cleaned from all wickedness and suffering. This encourages me to keep living in a bay that christian should so I can receive that promise.

I enjoy this translation of vs. 16-
speaking about these things as he does in all his letters. However, some things in them are hard to understand, and these things the ignorant and unstable are twisting, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

There are some thing hard to understand in the Bible, and some have made up teaching based on their lack of understanding.
