Wesley's Notes for 2 Peter 1:16

1:16 These things are worthy to be always had in remembrance For they are not cunningly devised fables - Like those common among the heathens. While we made known to you the power and coming - That is, the powerful coming of Christ in glory. But if what they advanced of Christ was not true, if it was of their own invention, then to impose such a lie on the world as it was, in the very nature of things, above all human power to defend, and to do this at the expense of life and all things only to enrage the whole world, Jews and gentiles, against them, was no cunning, but was the greatest folly that men could have been guilty of. But were eyewitnesses of his majesty - At his transfiguration, which was a specimen of his glory at the last day.

People's Bible Notes for 2 Peter 1:16

2Pe 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables. There was no mistake or doubt about the gospel, no such fables as the myths of the Gentiles. When we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord. Preached the coming into the world and the divine power of Christ. But were eyewitnesses of his majesty. Since the apostles were personal witnesses of Christ's glory, they knew whereof they spoke.

Reading your previous comment, that the 3 rd person in the trinity actually moved on Gods servants. His apostles tell us of this mystery. Their witness is a witness for us to believe in and that it would become real to each of us. I really enjoy reading king James version. I've read this version my whole life, and it still reveals something new of God everyday. Thank you for the revelation Peter

You cannot believe in evolution and Creation.......... If the world exists more than a billion years, we will find in every place a lot of bones, skulls etc. etc.. Men always like to show of to others how much they know, but the more we think we know, the more we realize we don't know and the best is still to come when Jesus returns and has to show us again what matters....Love the Lord, your neighbour as yourself, we still not succeed in doing so , so we look for other ways to fill up the emptiness! At the moment we destroy creation, because satan knows that he has very little time to do so and his servants are already working very hard, but in the end they will not win, because our Saviour will return in time to save us from the madness and then we will realize how foolish we have been in not wanting to know the most important thing in life......to Love!!

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him..." Knowledge is power when we rightly act upon it. We never need be overcome by temptations. When we speak and act according to the truth, and stand on the Word, we cannot fail!

ray: Back up to Matthew when The Persecution and Tribulation started. Paul was a Hitler of that Day! Until he meant the Lord:Acts9:1-5/---we must through much Tribulation enter into The Kingdom of God. Acts14:22 The Sixth Seal is opened and The Day of Wrath has come(upon the lost: Revelation6:12-17/ whosoever was not found written in The Book of Life was cast into The Lake of Fire.Revelation20:15

Hebrews through Revelation is for tribulation reading. If we miss the Rapture, then the books of Hebrews through Revelation will come to pass. We can learn from these books, but we must be careful who is it written to. Food for thought. ...
