W, "How do you put up a fight against your desires of the flesh?" What is it in a man, who considers his ways, and turns to God and repents? that he will soften and change his mind and heart, to convert and to do no more sin? This is what is meant by "holding the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;" that we don't let those things slip! Use force in your mind! Speak the Scripture!

You fight against the desires of the flesh by submitting to The Lord every day. Tell Him you know that you desperately need Him. Read your Bible OUT LOUD every day. PRAY every day. Stop watching things on TV , newspapers, internet, etc., that you know are designed to pull you into wrong thinking and wrong actions. Also tell your flesh NO we are not doing that.

Vs. 6 If we truly love Jehovah then we will make an effort to serve him whole souled. Sometimes our fleshly desires work against us, but we must put up a fight to resist them. BY doing so, God can bless us, and we can have a free flow of Holy Spirit.
