Vs. 6 If we truly love Jehovah then we will make an effort to serve him whole souled. Sometimes our fleshly desires work against us, but we must put up a fight to resist them. BY doing so, God can bless us, and we can have a free flow of Holy Spirit.

    V. 10 - this verse refers to those who just come to you, uninvited, nor have you PRAYED for them to be there, that bring a different doctrine. We can and are to witness to ANYONE, but ONLY in the Lord's leading - through prayer. If you're in a store and you 'feel' a 'tug' towards someone - that's God letting you know this person will be receptive to His message - done GENTLY, with wisdom, love.

I agree with Patricia Chance but first we need to really get into the right bible which is the KJ and study it. I thought I knew the bible because I listened to my pastor. But I did not check up on all that he said and I should have because I am recently finding through really getting into the study of the Gods word that he was wrong on so many things. So be very, very careful who you listen to.

Deborah..who would be the "us" you speak of John forbidding? Re-read Verse 1 and 13?..... "The elder unto the elect lady and her children" Is that you? See 1 John 5:13 and please think deeply every day why that indeed is written to "believers". Us. Note it is not written to non believers!! "Know" why. It is why He wrote it to them, us. "Ye" In that verse would be the believer. Eternal. GLory to God. Thank you Jesus. Ps are you going to tell me PETER found your children walking in truth? Context Light.
