As long as the road is right, you are not afraid of the road

I read your comment with interest. Many fail to understand that tithing is not a part of the New Testament church. No where in the New testament did Paul state "tithes." That was in the OT as it involved more than monetary giving. In the NT it is "only" offering" as one profited.

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. -- Jesus said not to leave the other Tithe undone. If Jesus said it its so.

Sow bountifully out of love, and you shall reap bountifully. I have experienced this over and over in the time I needed it most. God's rules are permanent and I love his laws. God truly has unspeakable gifts. Be enriched by God's grace.

I love sharing this scripture with others. This scriptures gives encouragement that our ability to survive in this world whether it be emotionally, mentally, or even financially is dependent upon our relationship with Him. Whether we are single, poor, or disadvantage Jehovah God's blessing can make us self sufficient in all things. Then we can be truly happy, despite our circumstances.

'...touching the ministering to the saints," I want to hammer on something again, that is apparently completely unknown or despised by many Churches. If you're wondering why I "hammer" on the Churches; its because they are hugely responsible for the great falling away of many and the overflowing of all bounds and restraint in the world today! TITHINGS AND OFFERINGS ARE FOR THE NEEDS OF THE SAINTS!

Eternal truths- He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Mahlon; The Glad Tidings of God and our salvation in Christ has NOTHING to do with Tithing! Have you ever read what Jesus said about false teachers and false prophets "Making Merchandise" of us? A Man of God would more likely go to work and earn his own living, and not say a thing about money; than to give appearance of covetousness. Beware of connecting money with the word of God being preached!
  • Mahlon on 2 Corinthians 9 - 6 years ago
Tithing is a Faith Message begins with Abraham not with Jacob. Just because Jacob didn't is not an excuse for us not to do it Malachi teachers the word about tithing. God bless you today
  • Brianna vs. 7 on 2 Corinthians 9 - 6 years ago
The Bible definitely encourages the act of gift giving and to be generous with such. I know many people apply this scripture to tithes, but when you read the full chapter it goes beyond that. Paul encouraged Christians here to be generous towards those who renounced material possession to assist people spiritually, and also to be generous towards a "relief" ministry.

Does Gen 14 establish prelaw tithing as a doctrine? Abraham tithed the spoils of war. And then gave the other 90% back to the King of Sodom. Not according to Numbers 31: 27-30 7 Gen 28 Jacob vowed to tithe but never did so how does that establish tithing as a doctrine. 2CORN 9:7 Necessity: imposed either by the circumstances, or by law of duty regarding to one's advantage, custom, argument.

"..... His unspeakable gift." the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38. Jn. 15:5 - " ..... he that abideth in me and I IN HIM ..... without me ye can do nothing."

Hope - I do not understand the comment "directed to the israelits not anybody else". Those in Achaia and Corinth were belivers not just Israelites. Are you making the distinction between regular tithing and simple helping those in time of need?
  • BSP on 2 Corinthians 9 - 7 years ago
Verse 15 talks about the indescribable or unspeakable gift that God has given us by the sacrifice of Jesus' life in our behalf.
  • Hope on 2 Corinthians 9:7 - 8 years ago
I have been going through verses about tighing, it was indeed directed to the israelits not anybody else, but as you know people takes advantage of other people especially if you are lazy to read scriptures. God loves a cheerfully giver

I think that it shall be a good lesson for children to learn what is a reward of working hard and will encourage others to work hard to get good rewards and if you fail and work a little you will gets conseqences.

God loves a cheerful giver, giving tithes is our obedience in Christ. God is our supply and all things belongs to him. We must share our blessings and this is the fruit of our blessing from God that we have sowed. God have commanded us to do what he says coz By Giving we can only recieve God 's blessings. We must love one another as he commanded us to do. He who loves Jesus will keep his commandments until rapture. Thanks God for the blood he shed for us.

It has been a long time I have wanted to look at different teachings about tithes and offering since before I had only understood that there is just one scripture about it. I'm sure I am going to understand better as time goes on.

"Praise God everything about you seems to make sense so who would separate me from you and you never lie" I LOVE YOU.
  • Darwina on 2 Corinthians 9 - 10 years ago
giving of your time by serving unto the Lord. God wants us to give of our time willingly not because we have to so God will be blessed and we are never to give to get back
  • Padre larry on 2 Corinthians 9 - 10 years ago
it is not "money" no where in the new testament does it say you have to give money.when we say its money its a "I think" statement I may be it is sharing your faith spread the word of God. We will find out on that day of judgement. I am sure there will be a rebuttal. but I would like to know also
  • R. D. Mattock on 2 Corinthians 9 - 11 years ago
Gods law of reward: There are 4 Rs which govern the laws of poverty and prosperity: Reward, release, receiving, and reaping. Reward: Luke 10:7 The labourer is worth of his hire (reward). Your employer is not doing you any special favour by writing you a pay check, you earn it. Proverbs 28:19 He that tilleth (Works hands) his land shall have plenty of bread (No work, no reward). Release-sowing: Proverbs 11:24, 25 There is he that scattered, and yet increaseth; and there is he that witholdeth more than is fitting, but it tendeth to poverty. Scatter your money, it will increase, and you will be prosperous. Hoard to much of it, and you will be poor. You mean I have to start giving my money to be prosperous? That doesnt make sense. Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you.
Receiving Have you ever heard of a farmer who planted his seed and didnt expect a return. It is godly to give expecting to receive. When God sent His Son, he expected to receive something in return: Sons and daughters. Jesus was a receiver, we see him, receive food, lodging, gifts, and even a donkey.
Reaping Galatians 6:6-9 Be Not Deceived; God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For in due season we shall reap if we faint not. When will we reap? In due season.
