    2 Corinthians 3:17 explanation please
  • Jaco Esterhuizen
In the old testament there was the law of God and other laws. The must do to be holy and sanctified. When Christ died on the cross and rise again, we died with Him and rise with Him. When we believe in Christ, we are reborn, God planted His seed in us. The do has disappeared and we are a new Creation in Christ. We don't have to do anything we have liberty in Christ and we can live Christ. Galatians 2:20. Our lives is our testimony and our words confirm that. There are several places where Paul stated that we are perfect in Christ. We don't have to do anything anymore save to build a living relationship with Christ.

When I read verses 13-16, it makes me think of Moses reflecting the Old Testament, and how he wasn't able to reach Canaan. That someone else had to carry the people into the promised land. The law that was written in stone can never be perfectly followed. But, Joshus who lead the rest of the way into Canaan is in a way Jesus-like figure. Jesus is the New Testament and through him and his 11th commandment to love God, with all our hearts, body, mind and soul and to love our brethern as ourselves and with his atoning and redeeming sacrifice we are saved through Faith in Him. Not by the laws of stone, but by the laws of the heart, mercy, not sacrifice.

This profound chapter condenses the biblical doctrine of the glory of God with the revelation of the same glory in man through the testaments. Fundamentally, believers must refrain from reading the old testament with the same blinders that beclouded the judgement of the people of old. We should discern biblical truth from this side of the cross and not be recidivists of a legalistic framework. In John 17 at Gethsemane, Our Lord Jesus declared that he was since that time sharing that glory with us (the Church). Consequently there is a progressive accentuation of this glory with our spending time in His presence. It is a "Christo-centrically" transformative work of the Holy Spirit..

This chapter has depth of meaning and takes special meditation. Importantly, the take away is "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Let us live in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit, and therefore have great peace. Additionally, "our sufficiency is of God". How wonderful to know through Christ we are liberated. Don't put your trust in man, but trust only in GOD.

Amen and Amen. So well stated. I couldn't agree more. Thank you my sister. May God continue to bless and keep you. Hallelujah. Praise God and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever and forever more.

If I may say " In the reading of the old testament a veil covers their face." We need to understand what the old testament is and what it entails. It is not the 39 books but a particular covenant given to the children of Israel through Moses.Every time it is read a veil covers the face of people that they cannot see past their condemnation by it or EVEN TO SEE CHRIST'S WORK ON THE CROSS.

2 Corinthians 3:18 is wonderful verse, and states But we "all" that links the born again. again we observe" beholding as in a glass" the perfection we are progressing in is evident. The agent in perfection "the Spirit of the Lord" God has wanderful plan to: purposefuly save us, personally support us, primarily subject us to working of Holy Spirit in us" for complete change like His Son. "Amen"

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: The Kingdom of Heaven is promised to the Jews and the Body of the Church is for the Gentiles in the Kingdom of God. 2 Thessalonians 1:5 Apostle Paul was writing to saved Gentiles.
  • Ray321
Genesis 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. Israel will have a new covenant , that will be in there New Heart written so they don't forget. That is God's promise for Israel, the Kingdom of Heaven.
  • Ray321
Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: The new covenant is for the Jews not the Gentiles .
  • Brianna vs. 14
We are not under the Mosaic Law, that law has been done away with. We are not under the Law of Christ. The Bible refers to it as the New Covenant. The New Covenant does contain many of the same principles that were in the Mosaic, yet, not all. For example the blood of Jesus sacrifice did away with the need for animal sacrifices. The Mosaic law was never to be permanent.

2nd Cor. 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.
Thank GOD ALMIGHTY! He's worthy to be praised.

There are no words for the word of GOD, and the beauty of 2 Corinthian:3. The Saints, must set an example, and be a true example for the body of Christ. We must continue to walk in love, peace, joy, and happiness, and hope to rescue others from darkness in the world for our Lord and Savior KING JESUS!
  • Kais
What a glorious God we have. Thank you Jesus foor your precious blood. O halleluja we are justified by the blood of Christ. Thank You Jesus for Your blood that speaketh of better things than the blood of Abel. Thank You Lord that you have delivered us from the law of Moses by Your death. Halleluja, we are delivered from the law by the Body of Christ. Holy Spirit, we are led by You.
  • Rick
Many misunderstand this, because they read it alone, not with other scriptures. The Law was set in stone and was death in that there was no forgiveness in it! But when the spirit of Christ came on and in the heart of men in the new testament, it brought (the vail removed) life, as it forgave and took away all the guilt and shame of the sin. The Law is still there, but death is conquered by Grace!
  • Josia
This is a good bible translation
  • Lilian
We can connect our Spirit to the Holy Spirit Jesus only by meditating the words of God everyday. From his words we receive Peace that passes all understanding thanks to the blood of Jesus by his blood we are redeemed and pardoned and our sins are cleans . We must thank, think and talk about the blood of Jesus and worship him and praise him for he is worthy. Thank you Jesus Amen
  • Stephen F. Zielski
PARADOX ! The vail must be taken away indeed. May our Heavenly Abba Dad and God Almighty Yahweh bring His Holy and Matchless Word to pass indeed, in and through His Son who Lives and Reigns at His Right Hand now and forever more, our Blessed Lord and near future Majesty King to come, Christ Yeshua Jesus, Amen. SHALOM ISRAEL ZION ! COME LORD YESHUA GLORY AMEN AND AMEN INDEED ! Shalom yedda dim.
verse 18 confirms the fact that the change we crave or desired can only be encountered by our undiluted focus on the Holy Spirit with his unlimited power. it is this Power that will enable us to experience the power that lifted Christ ,that death could not hold him captive even in the Grave, this Power is the one that will open our eye of understanding and put us in the Spirit realm or frequency
  • Jarrod Kish
i personally think... Life is good God is great.
  • Scotty
Still striving to serve The Lord. His Glory and mercies endure forever. continue to work on me Lord as I continue to seek and serve you
  • Lilian
God has anointed us as his child. God 's love endureth forever. Thanks to Jesus for leading us to the Living Water where only the word of God we recieved peace, joy, happiness and life in abundance. By obeying God 's words and meditating them day and night all things that we need will be prosper and will be added. What a promising God and a loving Father. Amen
  • Delores Dunbar
I think taking on the nature of Jesus Christ we are free from the bondage of sin and the guilt of shame being liberated in to soar high like the see and soar high like the eagle.
  • Delores Dunbar for verse 17
I am free praise the Lord free from the bondage of sin.Allululah Thank you Jesus
  • Kenneth for verse 17
I think exactly what it means, liberty from any kind of bondage. I literally live in that place where Christ is. I pray that the Church, the true Church of Christ experience this amazing place in HIM. Regardless of what 's happening around you, regardless of what people throw at you, there 's effect on you.
