Wesley's Notes for 2 Corinthians 4:6

4:6 For God hath shined in our hearts - The hearts of all those whom the god of this world no longer blinds. God who is himself our light; not only the author of light, but also the fountain of it. To enlighten us with the knowledge of the glory of God - Of his glorious love, and of his glorious image. In the face of Jesus Christ - Which reflects his glory in another manner than the face of Moses did.

STEVE WILDER...."BEARING ABOUT" THE DEATH OF OUR LORD IS LOOKING AT BOTH OUR IDENTIFICATION WITH HIM IN HIS DEATH (WHICH BY FAITH BRINGS US LIFE) AND THE MESSAGE WE PROCLAIM ABOUT HIS DEATH (WHICH BY FAITH CAN BRING LIFE TO OTHERS) AS ALSO OUR DAILY DIEING TO SELF AND ENDURING PERSECUTION BECAUSE OF OUR MESSAGE OF PREACHING "CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD".

What does 2Cor.4:10 mean ? Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the Life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

2 cor 4:1 therefore seeing we have this ministry as we have received mercy we faint not 2 BUT HAVE RENOUNCED THE HIDDEN THINGS OF DISHONESTY NOT WALKING IN CRAFTINESS NOR HANDLING THE WORD OF GOD DECEITFULLY BUT BY-------BUT BY MANIFESTATION OF THE TRUTH-------COMMENDING OURSELVES TO EVERY MANS CONSCIENCE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD 3 BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID IT IS HID TO THEM THAT ARE LOST

Satan was cast out of heaven with his angels before Gen. for rebelling against God; wanting to usurp God's authority and be 'God' himself and he had a host of angels that followed him. This was done before Adam 'n Eve. The testimony of this event is corroborated by Jesus Himself - Lk.10:18. The prince of the power of the air, Eph.2:2. Tit.2:12, we are 'in' the world, but not 'of' it, Jn.15:19, 17.

The god of this age is Satan, he keeps lost sinners in the dark. (John 12:31) He is the ruler of this world in which we live today. Read Romans 11:25 and 2nd Corinthian 3:14-16. Satan doesn't want the light of salvation to shine in the hearts of sinners.

GOD is the light of salvation. Amen!

God is the light of salvation.

Richard!: You need to read that verse again. It says the god of this world has blinded the minds of those that don't believe. god of this world is Satan. He is still blinding people so they don't see The Light. Have you been called? John6:44--forgiving 1John 1:9- You "will" be Baptized with The Holy Ghost Matthew3:11. You will "know" impossible not to know!
