Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. We will know them by there fruits.

    V. 7 - " ..... though we be as reprobates." This confused me at first, until I 'reasoned' it out. We who believe the truth of Jesus are 'reprobates' to the Jews (Pharisees, Sadducees, etc.), not reprobates to the truth. To the unbelieving Jews we have left the God of the O.T., but we haven't - Jehovah is Jesus of the N.T. The name Jehovah translates to Jesus, Acts 2:37-38, 4:12.

We must continue to examine ourselves to make sure we are in the faith. We need to compare our words and actions with God's standards sat out in the Bible and see whether we measure up.

Your comment sounds dangerously close to a "works for salvation" message. God saves those who trust in His Son to the uttermost. We may wander off the heavenly path, but our faithful Father will seek us out, and never forsake us.

Paul warns the Corinthians of his coming and that they should examine themselves to see if they are living right and displaying the fruits of the Spirit. If they are in right standing with God then they would know where he stands. He encourages them to remain faithful and to believe in themselves even though others may see them otherwise.
