Wesley's Notes for 2 Corinthians 1:24

1:24 Not that we have dominion over your faith - This is the prerogative of God alone. But are helpers of your joy - And faith from which it springs. For by faith ye have stood - To this day. We see the light in which ministers should always consider themselves, and in which they are to be considered by others. Not as having dominion over the faith of their people, and having a right to dictate by their own authority what they shall believe, or what they shall do; but as helpers of their joy, by helping them forward in faith and holiness. In this view, how amiable does their office appear! and how friendly to the happiness of mankind! How far, then, are they from true benevolence, who would expose it to ridicule and contempt!

People's Bible Notes for 2 Corinthians 1:24

2Co 1:24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith. Not that he would exercise a lordship. How different this is from the arrogant style of a Catholic bishop! But are helpers of your joy. Paul wishes rather to be a helper. For by faith ye stand. Faith in Christ. He hath dominion. Every disciple is accountable to him. Not even an apostle can come between.

Paul's Gospel 1 Corinthians 15-1-4, Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and was buried and rose from the dead three days in the power of God. If we know that we are a sinner, believe in the finished work of the cross, what more do we have to do to go to Heaven. Believe with faith plus nothing, that's all. It's that simple. Believe with faith plus nothing. Amen Amen Amen

My friends, Yes Apostle Paul was faithful and believed God, but Jesus had chosen Paul for the Gentiles (Acts 9:15) and the other Apostles had to follow Jesus comments, do not go in the way of the Gentiles (Matt 10:5-7). Paul is our Apostle for our time. So Jesus had to give him new Revelations (Romans 16:25) . We are to follow Paul and read his epistles so we can understand the Bible 2 Tim 2:15

Paul calls the Gospel of Christ "his gospel" because Paul walked by faith, he did everything in faith, he lived in the Spirit, he abides in God's Word.

The Corinthians church had a lot of problems, there was alot of bad things going on, that's why they were called babes in Christ. The Corinthians were not eating the meat of the Word because of there sins. Apostle Paul had a hard time, but he had alot of love for that church. The books of Corinthians will teach Salvation of today, the gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul calls it his gospel. Read it
