People's Bible Notes for Romans 15:16

Ro 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. This is the grace just referred to. Ministering. The Greek reads, "Ministering in sacrifice". The figure is that of Paul, as a priest, bringing the converted Gentiles as offerings, which are placed upon the altar of God and dedicated to his service. This offering, the Gentiles, is made acceptable through the gospel, they being sanctified, set apart, by the Holy Spirit. See Ro 8:1,2.

Paul wanted the Christians in Rome to know that he planned to visit there! Both Jews and Gentiles were recipent’s of his letter. He emphasizes that man's justification before God depends on the mercy of Christ and not on the law of Moses. Paul gives his reason for the Epistle and review some of their characteristics. Various personal greetings are extended in
    conclusion of this writing!
