Wesley's Notes for Psalms 24:9

24:9 Lift up - The same verse is repeated again, to awaken the dulness of mankind, who are so hardly brought to a serious preparation for such solemnities; and to signify the great importance of the matter, contained under these expressions.

PSALM 24:1 the earth is THE LORDS and the fulness thereof the world and they that dwell therein --24:2-- for HE hath founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods --24:3-- who shall ascend into the hill of THE LORD or who shall stand in HIS holy place --24:4-- he that hath clean hands and a --PURE HEART-- who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully

Clean hands and a pure heart; Him shall see the God of glory. But those whose mouths spew deceit and whose hearts are corrupted by vanity, they will be left bereft of any good thing from God. They will writhe in agony of their own making, and bewilderment and bottomless sorrow, of their own doing. They have no excuse and will wither to chaff and be blown away. But the righteous hear the word

I find it very comforting.read it once for a friend who was dying. Taking it tomorrow to prayer warriors as my favorite verse in the bible

I thought today,s verse of the day is meaningful. We are the Lord,s children and everything belongs to him and for him.
