23:3 Restoreth - Heb. He bringeth it back; from its errors and wandering. For - Not for any worth in me, but for the glory of his justice, and faithfulness, and goodness.

    This particular psalm is one of comfort for his elect who live in an evil and unfriendly world who hate Christians and Christ. The psalm reminds us to pray for Gods healing power thru his holt spirit when we are feeling down and our spirits are troubled more so in this present age we love.

    The 'Valley of the Shadow of Death' could for some people be the valley of grief over another's death- the emotionally traumatic results of sorrow.
