1These are the iourneyes of the children of Israel, which went foorth out of the land of Egypt, with their armies, vnder the hand of Moses and Aaron. 2And Moses wrote their goings out according to their iourneyes, by the commandement of the Lord: and these are their iourneyes according to their goings out. 3And they departed from Rameses in the first moneth, on the fifteenth day of the first moneth: on the morrow after the Passeouer, the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians. 4(For the Egyptians buried all their first borne, which the Lord had smitten among them: vpon their gods also the Lord executed iudgements.)

33:2 And Moses wrote their goings out - When they set out, God ordered him to keep a journal of all the remarkable occurrences in the way, that it might be a satisfaction to himself and an instruction to others. It may be of use to Christians, to preserve an account of the providences of God concerning them, the constant series of mercies they have experienced, and especially those turns which have made some days of their lives more remarkable.
