Wesley's Notes for Nehemiah 8:13

8:13 Levites - Chusing rather to confess their ignorance than vainly to pretend to more knowledge than they had: wherein they shew both humility, and serious godliness, that they were more careful to learn their duty than to preserve their reputation.

Verse 2~Worship should take place with all in the family. Both the men and the women were mentioned here and this would promote unity in the family.

    Have blessed day love you
  • Irene123
V.9 - " ... and all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law." There are a very few that will understand what I am going to say. At every church service - I weep; especially during the song/worship service, and many times during the Pastor's message. It's the sweet spirit that is there , touching everyone, but some don't respond as I do. Jesus is all there is to me.

Much of God's Word is integrity and we have to learn that
  • Irene123
    V. 5 - " ..... and all the people stood up." And Jesus stood to read from Esais (Isaiah) in Lk. 4. To stand at the reading of God's Word, to give Him respect, honor and glory; the least we can do (and so much more!!!) for what He did for us. He loves to be honored and glorified by His people, because it's what He has taught them - because He loves them; just like any father.
