4Therefore sayd I; Looke away from me, I will weepe bitterly, labour not to comfort me; because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people. 5For it is a day of trouble, and of treading downe, and of perplexitie by the Lord God of hostes in the valley of vision, breaking downe the walles, and of crying to the mountaines. 6And Elam bare the quiuer with charets of men and horsemen, and Kir vncouered the shield. 7And it shall come to passe that thy choicest valleys shall be full of charets, and the horsemen shall set themselues in aray at the gate. 8¶ And he discouered the couering of Iudah, and thou diddest looke in that day to the armour of the house of the forrest.

22:6 Elam - The Persians, who now, and for a long time after, were subject to the Assyrian and Chaldean emperors. Quiver - Being expert bowmen. Horsemen - As some fought on foot, so others fought from chariots and horses. Kir - The Medes, so called from Kir, an eminent city and region of Media. Uncovered - Prepared it and themselves for the battle.
