Wesley's Notes for 2 Kings 2:19

2:19 Barren - Either it was so originally, at least, as to that part of the city where the college of the prophets was: or, it became so from the curse of God inflicted upon it, when Hiel rebuilt it. However, upon the prophet's care, it grew exceeding fruitful, and therefore is commended for its fertility in later writers.

Stephen, while I mostly agree with your mostly unstated premise that the children of today are getting worse and worse, I disagree with your analysis. It is totally and completely different to mock a Christian for looking for the return of Jesus in the rapture...and simply calling someone 'bald'. Is that a sin? Is it such a dreadful sin that children should be slaughtered for calling someone bald?
  • Steven Lacey-James
    Take the bible LITERALLY!

The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY (Jesus Christ) knows ALL things, like knowing the future of those children and what they would amount to and ultimately that they would end up in Hell.

btw...Confessing that Jesus Christ IS GOD COME IN THE FLESH is THE salvation issue.
  • Stephen Botts
The children are like many today that mock Christians for looking for the return of Jesus in the Rapture.

Eric: I'm curious as to why you think what you think?.

Maybe the prophet needs some guidence. He might be lost.
