Wesley's Notes for 1 John 5:18

5:18 Yet this gives us no encouragement to sin: on the contrary, it is an indisputable truth, he that is born of God - That sees and loves God. Sinneth not - So long as that loving faith abides in him, he neither speaks nor does anything which God hath forbidden. He keepeth himself - Watching unto prayer. And, while he does this, the wicked one toucheth him not - So as to hurt him.

For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
God (Elohim, 3) is One; In one mind and one accord, there is no discord amongst them. Example: A man, a woman are two, but when they get married they are one. Father sits on His throne, Jesus sits on His right hand, and the Holy Spirit is at work on earth. Have Faith
