Wesley's Notes for 1 John 2:14

2:14 I have written to you, fathers - As if he had said, Observe well what I but now wrote. He speaks very briefly and modestly to these, who needed not much to be said to them, as having that deep acquaintance with God which comprises all necessary knowledge. Young men, ye are strong - In faith. And the word of God abideth in you - Deeply rooted in your hearts, whereby ye have often foiled your great adversary.

1John 2vs 28-29,give a special and helpful conclusion of the whole chapter "that we abide in him and live righteously always as a believer'' so that at his coming we might have confidence and not be ashamed before him. If a branch of a tree is detached from it main source it withers and cannot survive JN15:1-5 . We pray for grace and power to abide in you in righteousness Lord Jesus, amen.

wow, this chapter hit me today in that the spirit of antichrist can be in our brothers and sisters, we need discernment by the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us to know who are true and those who are not.
  • Walter Waller
The king James 1611 has been round for over 400 years and proven by God to be relevant for doctrine and instruction in his knowledge which guides on our life to be pleasing into our heavenly Father!!!

I am of the Father, through the blood of Jesus Christ. If we do not know Jesus through the Word, we will be vulnerable to deception. Their are already many antichrists, and Satan would like to trip us up. Because the truth abides in me, I have the Holy Spirit to guide me in to all truth, and that is how to defeat the devil, and prayer. Doesn't mean I am an island, but work within the body ofChrist

There are those who say the word is no longer relavent, this in 1 john 2 discounts that assumption. We who believe in Jesus Christ as the Word need not that any man teach us. His Spirit teaches us, the sure Word of God, all things must be tested by His Word, if it doesn't meet the test, there is no light in it.

This scripture backs up Jesus. He said when he the spirit of truth ( THE H.G ) is come HE WILL LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH, ALSO ISAIAHS LIL CHILD THAT WILL LEAD US WHICH IS the H.G. THAT IS GONNA BE BORN IN US, Thats y the new birth is so important we are gonna birth a baby CHRIST, THE ANOINTING,That which is born of the spirit tis SPIRIT. She brought forth a child that will RULE all nations, TH H.G.
