Timothy and the other apostles and appointed men brought out how they exerted themselves in their ministry to teach others. They endured much persecution by fanatic Jews, and even the roman government also. However, what allowed them to bear up under this pressure was they kept their mind fix on the promises found in God 's word. SO as we are faithfully enduring trials, we too can find comfort and strength by keeping our mind on the reward of everlasting life in a paradise earth.

Hello BSP You are absolutely correct. If I can say it like this, Jesus Christ started his ministry at the age of 12, Luke 2 42. Anyone can attribute to a learning experience whether this experience is good or bad one. You learn how to do right or how to do wrong. You take in good knowledge and bad knowledge. Nevertheless, it is still a learning experience. However, you have to be able to sort out the good knowledge from the bad knowledge. This is where the true Holy Ghost comes in. He shall teach you all things, John 14 26. This were true believers in Jesus Christ.

Marriage was divinely established in Eden and affirmed by Jesus to be lifelong union between a man and woman in loving companionship. For the Christian, a marriage commitment is to God as well to the spouse, and should be entered into only between partners who share a common faith. From the diversity of male and female God brought order, ones. The first Friday He performs the first marriage, joining this two, and the epitome of His image to make them one. And marriage has being the foundation of the family, the foundation of society it self, ever since. Scripture describes marriage as a decisive act of both detachment and attachment One shell leave his father and mother, and she cleave unto, his wife and they shell be one flesh.

Surely this chapter teaches us to seriously consider the gift that God gave us.
  • Jay R on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
Unfortunately religions still exist that forbid to marry and to abstain from meats...they have not still come to the full understanding of the scriptures. As a fact, these instructions instituted by these beliefs have become a pillar in their faith but the crux was that godliness is profitable unto all things. That is through continuous prayer, fasting and meditating on his holy words it will benefit us in the life we live now and the one that is to come.

The opening of 1 Timothy 4 discusses the fact that there will be those who come into the faith or leave the faith based on their not believing Jesus 's Gospel of Matthew Mark Luke and John but prefer the occult. We are two exhort others in the understanding of Matthew Mark Luke and John into always remember to give thanksgiving for that which we receive in that it will be sanctified and consecrated by God through our prayers. Receive with Thanksgiving and give with Thanksgiving. A good teacher reminds those whom we are to give thanks to Father God and Jesus Christ. Those who depart from the faith are those who have given heed to doctrines which are not in consolidation with Matthew Mark Luke and John and probably heeds the doctrines of the whisperers who practice occult practices and have purposed this by making their way into the faith in order to destroy the faith. While others have departed because their faith was not strong enough to withstand occult practices and doctrines. individually or collectively we must stand strong in the faith through the words of truth of Jesus of Nazareth, for Jesus is the Christ of our salvation.

just as physical exercise is profitable to the body in that it helps us remain healthy and strong, so also is spiritual exercise. studying the word, having a deep fellowship with the holy spirit, exercising dominion over the flesh, constant worship, and much more other spiritual exercises not hold promises for the after life, but it is key to enjoying all the promises of God in Christ Jesus here on the earth. "but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come".

Preaching is a necessary part of a Christian's worship. Jesus preached, the apostles preached, disciples preached, timothy preached, apostle Paul preached, etc. etc. etc.

Yet so few Christians actually preach, make a sincere effort to share the bible's message. Jehovah's witnesses certainly take this admonish to preach seriously.

  • Phillip Stephens on 1 Timothy 4 - 10 years ago
1Timothy 4 is about doctrines of devils. These doctrines consist of people teaching preachers shouldn't marry or follow the laws of God in Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14 on our diet. I continue to see people saying 1Timothy 4:1-5 is saying our God is saying a preacher shouldn't marry and it's ok to eat things God call unclean and forbids. Would someone please show me where Yahweh says this? The people that assume this, are you saying Yahweh is a devil? 1Timothy 4:1-3 is very clear the doctrine of forbidding to marry and to obtain from foods God sets aside in His word are doctrines of devils. Is Yahweh a devil? Is His Holy Word a doctrine of devils?

  • BSP on 1 Timothy 4:3 - 10 years ago
Forbidding to marry is mentioned along with the earlier verses as "doctrines of demons." There are some religions that try to enforce this today. Those that do are not following the Bible. In fact, they are spreading and teaching these "doctrines of demons."

Apostle Paul was trying to encourage and also to charge Timothy here that though Timothy was a young man but he should not let that serve as a week point to him in order not to serve as a limitation to his ministry and ministration. That he should not let anyone toss him here and there with false doctrine, rather, he should set an example for others to follow both young and old.

Hello saints. Awhile ago when i rededicated my life to Christ, i use to think that i was not to eat pork, because God had commanded in Deuteronomy 14:8 not to eat the swine, because it divided the hoof, and was unclean to us. ..... But what i have come to learn; is that the time that we are in, is now the time of faith, and grace, where as before; you use to have to kill, and burn animals, to ask forgiveness of your sin. ..... It was if God was saying to us; since you only believe in what you see, than here are the orders in which i want you to go about approaching me. (i'm just saying that's what it seems like he was saying) Because God declares alot in his Word that he does not change, but now has he made Christ the sacrifice, that never needs another, and all that we have to do now is believe on his ultimate sacrifice; that it covered all of are sins, that we asked forgiveness for. So now we only have to acknowledge God, and ask him, and believe that he received, and will answer our request, SO NOW ARE WE SAVED BY GRACE TROUGH FAITH; AND NOT BY THE LAW: So now we approach God by relationship, and not by old guide lines and doctrines, because now God has perfected the order. (meaning he has now taken the training wheels off!) HALLELUJAH!

I was spiritually led to this chapter. I have experienced so much in the spiritual until when I study God's Word, everything that is happening is revealed to me in His Scriptures. Sometimes although His Word is true, what I see scares me for all that are being deceived, unaware, and most of all unsaved.

I can here to review 1Tim 4:3 regarding meat. I am a vegan. I would prefer that the Scripture were given complete without the brackets so that I can read it precisely as written. And for the record, I don't 'command' anyone to do anything and no one 'commanded' me not to eat meat. I don't eat meat as a protest to the horrific treatment of farmed animals in this country -- all farmed animals. People could eat meat without cruelty -- and cruelty is something God condemns in its entirety. But if someone can show me an accurate translation on this topic, I would love to see that. You can write me off list at anna (dot) marshand at rocketmail (dot) com.
