I believe that God looks at our Heart, not whether we are male nor female, as Galatians 3:28 teaches us, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Too, Acts 2:17 teaches us---------And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. We all are one. Again, God looks at our hearts, not whether I am a man or woman. He loves us all and there is room in His Kingdom for each of us. Let 's all trust and allow God to put us in the positions he wants us to be as He will equip us with His Wisdom and the means to do whatever He would have us to do. We all just need to depend on God, not man nor woman. God Bless you.

I think this chapt is an eye-opener for how we as women should act from the way we look to understanding our roles. Its not to kp us on the bottom, but to kp good in the of God as well as respect frm others. chatuana: I agree that Christians should help those in need, but I dont agree that anyone should be forced to. Not even by politics. Proverbs 18:9 he wastes time and energy: He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great waster. 2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. Plus so many more verses. I see the president makes everyone else give, but what about himself. He 's seems pretty extravagant, and others that are forcing people to give.

Truly there is one God : the only way that I can get to God is through Jesus Christ and the blood that He shed for me and only on His merits that He wrought for me to be able to get to my God. I cannot approach God on my merits and my blood or on any good work that I do. Take the word of God at face value and quit trying to dissect it into something His word does not say. You have to have scripture to back up scripture.

To have complete faith in what you have been called to do by the LORD in this passage is truly the goal of all men and women of GOD. I pray the LORD gives me the strength to do it now and for all my life. Amen!

Hello Akusa: You are correct we should pray for our leaders both spiritual and political. Our leaders should be following the word of God. When it comes to our political leaders they should be doing all they can for the poor, Deuteronomy 15: 11 "For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto they brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in they land. However, the Republicans want to cut everything especially for the minorities and women 's rights. It is not the man or woman of God that judges, but it is God who judges through his word. If a person is found in sin according to God 's word, then that person is in sin.

Christian have to pray for our leaders instead of judging them. 1Timothy chapter 2:2,3

Part 3 of 3 Jesus Christ stated that he and his father are one, John 10 30. Jesus stated he came in his father s name, John 5 43. This is the name in which to call on for salvation, Acts 4 12 Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . It is alright to know all of the other names that God held, but we under this Dispensation of Grace, only need to call on the name of Jesus Christ for everything we need.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
Part 2 of 3 Also his name is no longer I AM. The angel declared his name before his was born, Matthew 1 21. After Jesus Christ became an adult he declared his name, John 5 43. He clarified that he was God manifested in the flesh to the Jews, John 8 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. This is why they got so angry with him because he declared that he was the I AM. Those knowing the Old Testament scriptures knew he was claiming to be God of the Old Testament. They took up stones to cast at him, John 8 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Part 1 of 3 Hello Brianna and Leah Scheffler Jehovah is a name that God held in the Old Testament. There were many versions of Jehovah, depending on the situation or circumstances in which the name was used to show God in that capacity. Jehovah Jireh means the Lord will Provide. Jehohovah Nissi means the Lord my Banner. Jehovah Shalom means the Lord send peace. Jehovah Shammah means The Lord is There. Jehovah Tsidkenu means The Lord our Righteousness.
  • Leah Scheffler on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
Brianna, what a pretty name! Jesus is Jehovah G D. From the onset I must tell you I 'm not a Jehovah 's Witness. I 'm a Born Again Christian. Now ... Jesus is Jehovah G D. He left His godship in heaven and the Bile says He humbled himself and came down as a human being. Jesus could not come down as G D, because G D is a Spirit and we wouldn 't be able to see Him. Secondly, if Jesus came down as G D, His Glory the light emanating from Him would make us all blind . We can 't look at the sun with our naked eyes, they start watering and we begin to see black. Jesus is brighter than a thousand suns. Thirdly, if Jesus came down as G D, we would be afraid of Him because we are all sinful and have done many wrong things. So instead of running to Him, we would run from Him. In the Abook if Zechariah chapter 14 it speaks of the LORD 's feet touching down on the Mt of Olives in Jerusalem. "LORD " translated in the Greek means Jehovah, so Jesus and Jehovah are one. Jesus is Almighty G D. I hope i 'Ve sufficiently answered you. Blessings in Jesus name. Hello Brianna Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. 1 John 5 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. It is a mystery of God 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. If I can say it like this, God robed himself in flesh and dwelt among us. Before Jesus Christ came no man could look upon God and live, Exodus 33 20. He came to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • Brianna on 1 Timothy 2:5 - 9 years ago
2 points I take away from this. ONE this proves to me that we only pray in Jesus name. Praying to or through saints are not backed in the Bible. Only Jesus is the mediator. TWO This highlights how God and Jesus are not the same. God is a separate entity. Jesus plays the role in which mankind can approach God. If Jesus were God, then there would not be a need for a mediator, cause essentially you are going directly to God anyway.

Part 3 of 3 The word usurp mean to take or seize by force to encroach or infringe upon someone s rights to seize and hold as office, place, or powers in possession by force or without right. If a woman is given the right to teach or preach then this is alright, but if she takes by force the position, in this case over her husband then she is wrong. In the end, Paul is not telling the women they cannot teach, preach, pastor, or evangelize, etc. There is only two positions that Paul distinctly stated that should be held by men and that is Bishop and Deacon.

Part 2 of 3 In 1 Timothy 2 Timothy was setting up his church. If I can say it like this, Paul was continuing his lesson that he had already taught to the Corinthian church concerning women being silent during service. Once again Paul was not telling the women that they could not teach in the church, he was saying to respect her husband in his place and not teach him or usurp his authority, in other words don t embarrass your husband. If you notice the only two offices that Paul told Timothy that is held by men are Bishop and Deacon.

Part 1 of 3 Hello Martha and John 1 Corinthians 14 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. Paul was teaching the Corinthian church on how to behave. If I can say it like this, he was not telling the women that they should not be part of the ministry. The women were being disruptive during service this is why Paul told them to be silent. They were talking during service. If women were not to be in the ministry then why did Paul take Priscilla with him on his journey? Acts 18 18 Then he told the Roman church to greet them, Romans 16 3 In 1 Corinthians 16 19 Priscilla and her husband had a church in their home. Paul recognized her as a minister and teacher of the word of God.

John...I believe the key word is "ursurp " in that a woman should not take the authority away from a man. 1 Timothy 2 11 13 11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
Part 2 of 2 1 Corinthians 11 15 "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her for her hair is given her for a covering ". It is not necessary for a woman to wear a covering on her head when her hair is her covering. Some women prefer more covering than others. This is why they cut their hair. Then you have some women that have lost their hair due to illness. This does not mean that God does not love them.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
Part 1 of 2 Hello John No one has stated that women cannot hold any job in the church, the exception being Bishop and Deacon. The way I look at it is this, not everyone has the same gifts of the spirit. There are some that are teachers. Not everyone can pastor a church. Not everyone can be an evangelist. Not everyone is called into the Apostleship program. So I would rather stick with what Paul stated about what a Bishop or Deacon should be.
  • John on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 9 years ago
Is some scripture to be obeyed literally and other not? If there appears to be a conflict should we not have some criteria which we apply to all. How can one prohibit women from teaching men, but sanction women not wearing head cover, women singing in church, women teaching men in adult "Sunday School ", men wearing caps in an outdoor service is this not the same as in church . How about women teaching christian men at a university, or worse yet a bible college? Paul was against Judaisers who taught obedience to the law, but in deference to custom personally recommended certain rules. He also said that all spiritual gifts were worthless without love. Come, lets show a little consistency and some love.

Hello Jun Anlversario and Chinaza If a Priest is equivalent to a Bishop then I agree that women should not be made a Priest or a Bishop. In 1 Timothy chapter 3 gives the qualifications of a Bishop and Deacons. Bishop is a man of one wife. However, when it comes to other offices in the church women can hold those offices. When I look at Pricilla she would be considered a Pastor or Evangelist or Teacher, not a Bishop or a Priest. How women started asking to become Priest and Bishop is due to a Lesbian who thought of herself as a man and wanted to hold the office of a man. It started in the Catholic Church if I am not mistaken. So to me if they are not going to recognize a woman as a man then why put her in the position that the qualifications call for a man to hold.

nau the statement not with, simply means dont, bringing it out from d Greek or Hebrew version , we should still have not with, which most bible remove cos of Der believes, I Paul said not with, referring to some wr in Corinthians wen he said what agreement has the temple of God with idols, and d same with wat peter said about dressing ......., cos of iniquity hd abound d love for God has waxed cold and we Der by compromise, d word to fit our life instead of our life 's to fit the word, .....if we see dt it is causing argument and we say we love God why don 't we just don 't do it, incase if it 's wrong atlast Dan we ignore and later find it wrong if it 's going to be wrong......would have said more but, let 's give God the best of our selves and stop trying to compromise, its only a tradition in christianity , it doesn 't stop u from being a Christian till we are judged den God will decide.

I am confused now with the church i presently am with because there are women being ordained as priests. When I read this verse 12, I wonder it it was really understood by our church earlier leaders why they ordained women to become priests? I tried to read all those books in Michael griffit 's comment but did not find there any authorization given to women to preach. Even to the mention of Aquilla and Precilla who actually are husband and wife. They are servants to the church and not to preach. Some may have misunderstand them as church leaders but it is because a church was not existing in their place that time so they used their house as the church as they had asked St. Paul to teach them more about the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. May I find more understanding in this subject with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as I read more verses in the bible, amen.

In searching for the will of God for humankind, I was brought to II Timothy chapter 2. Realizing that God 's will shall be done in all things not associated with our free will, I sought to discover how to pray and what to pray for. We can ask God for things that develop newness of life and be in his will. Pray not amiss. God 's plans don 't change to suit our pleas.

Verses 3 5 clearly show that Jesus is not the same as his Father. If you are a mediator, you cannot be either party, but someone who negotiates between the two. The same principle is taught at 1 Corinthians 11 3, that a man would be head over the woman and God is Head over all, including Christ. Verse 14 of 1 Corinthians 11 also states that A man would not have long hair, which Paul certainly would not have written if Jesus had had long hair. Therefore, don 't believe artwork and Hollywood movies, as well as most of tradition. Believe the bible.

First of all there shouldn 't be any debates about the word of GOD! If you truly know him you should know he can use anything or anybody anytime or anywhere he chose to . don 't just read the word ask for a revalation.then you will see. he is all powerful!
  • Philip mc lean on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 9 years ago
I take this verse literally because I have no reason not too.Paul explains the reasoning behind this. The fact that Eve was the one deceived not Adam. Why on earth do you think that satan tempted Eve not Adam. Is it not possible that women perhaps are more open to deception?Paul obviously thought so.I am not chauvinist. I will open the door for any lady. Even put my coat in the puddle Some of the young ones wont have a clue about that statement . But I dont see anywhere in the old testament that women taught in the temple. That was God 's choice and as far as.i am concerned that must be His pattern for Paul would have based this scripture on what he was taught from old testament guidelines. He didn 't have the new testament. If we want to go against the word of God.we will suffer the consequences. That also is God 's pattern!!
