Steve, people question negitivly or ignore what God tells us1Cor14:34-40 He is Love and His Guidlines are for our Good Woman are Precious to God and Created to be Loving Helpmates for Men but we are not to be in Authority over them in Marriage or in the Church and Preach in Authority to Men. "Because women in Ephesus at this time were uneducated and secluded, Paul was warning that they could be misled by the false teachers trying to lure new Christians away from the church Paul wanted to establish. Those circumstances don't necessarily exist today, because many women, when trained, have gifts that can bring blessing to both men and women." By Jill Briscoe

Why do people question or ignore what God tells us He is Love and His Guidlines are for our Good. Woman are Precious to God and Created to be Loving Helpmates for Men but we are not to be in Authority over them in Marriage or in the Church and Preach in Authority to Men. We can share God's Truth to Men, Woman and Children and correct error with Scripture if needed as confirmed in the Bible.

  • Chris Johnson on 1 Timothy 2 - 4 years ago
The question is Why do you think Paul addressed the behavior of women in church?
  • SaraS - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2 - 4 years ago
Hi Bob, Yes! Our salvation in Christ and gift of eternal has been made sure - Jesus is triumphant! And, the Lord expects us to walk in His ways and keep His commandments. Only the overcomers will "walk with Him in white," "Eat of the tree of life," "Sit down on His throne," Eat of the hidden manna," etc. Revelation 1-3, 21:7-9.

"...in due time..." Paul alone is apostle to the Gentiles that's us , to testify "in due time" that the Father made the Son to be the ransom for all our sins by faith in His blood, without works. That's why, through Paul, Christ said His blood is shed for all while earlier He'd said He was sent to NONE but the lost sheep of Israel. Paul revealed truths from Christ that had been hidden in God.

Please allow me to submit this Word of God: Galatians 3:28(NIV), "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

1 Timothy 2:5 reminds us of the words that Jesus spoke to his disciples in John 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." When Timothy refers to Jesus as a "mediator", he is once again telling us that Jesus is the only one that works to effect reconciliation and settlement between God and Men. Sinful and wicked Man can never expect to be in the presence of the Holy Father because the gulf between Man and God is great due to our sin. Jesus bridges that gulf for those who believe in Him and are cleansed of sin to enter Heaven through His Grace and Forgiveness.

The Only Way to be Accepted is by The Blood of The Lamb. Mother Teresa will be Cast into The Lake of Fire if not Covered by The Blood of God's Son /There's a Way which Seemeth Right unto Man But The End thereof are The Ways of Death. Proverbs 14:12

I BELIEVE THE WAY TIMMOTHY 2 READS WE SHOULD LIVE THAT WAY IN ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED BY GOD AND THIS WILL GIVE THE RIGHT EXAMPLY TO OTHERS THAT MAY NOT READ ANY AT ALL.

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Yet Joel 2:28 says, "your daughters shall prophesy", which Peter quotes in Acts 2:17-18. To prophesy, according to 1 Cor 14:3, is to "speak unto men to edification." So it isn't so much the women speaking, but in what constitutes 'church' and authority in God's eyes. More on that in 2 weeks: stay tuned.

Vs 5. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." Where then, is the priest? WE are the priests!! "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an HOLY PRIESTHOOD, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, accept to God by Jesus Christ". 1 Peter2:5, and, "But ye are a chosen generation, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, an HOLY NATION.." 1 Pet 2:9. What a concept!!!

"Comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, warn the unruly..." Luke 13:23-29 the Lord declares plainly, as in MANY, MANY places; that not everyone who says to Him, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father." Not the hearers are justified, but the doers! God is not tricked by lip service! If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His.
  • Bob Berney on 1 Timothy 2 - 6 years ago
The doctrine of eternal security or as they say Once saved Always saved is a solid Bible doctrine. Such as the sure mercies of David, Paul says in Colossians the operation of the separation the soul from the flesh and such but remember it is Not OUR salvation it is The Lord’s salvation he provided for us. Eternal Security can be summed up in one word: Circumcision. Study to show thyself . . .

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority;" It is a strong desire of a righteous man or woman to see that mercy and truth, righteousness and peace, preside over the land and in the hearts of our Countrymen. Here is our patience and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ proven!

HI GREG; I'M GLAD WE HAVE THINGS LIKE LG. CAPS AND READING GLASSES FOR OUR AGING EYES:) I AM THANKFUL WITH YOU; JESUS LOVED US AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR US, AND DIED ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS, AND HAS PAID THE DEBT BY HIS OWN BLOOD. AMEN! I JUST WANT TO ADD; DON'T LET ANYONE (MAN OR SPIRIT) TELL YOU THAT YOU SIN EVERY DAY, IF YOU REALLY DON'T! JESUS HAS CLEANSED US AND BROKEN THE POWER OF SIN OVER US!
  • Greg ormsbee on 1 Timothy 2 - 6 years ago
SORRY FOR CAPS I SEE BETTER WITH THEMY, I AM NOT A BELIEVER OF ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED. I DO BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR US, BUT SOUNDS DOES SATAN. WE ARE TO LIVE LIKE JESUS TAUGHT ON THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. WE ALL SIN, JESUS IS THE EXAMPLE AN OUR SAVIOR, THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR GUIDE, AND WEARE TO TRY AN DONATIONS GOOD, ALL GLORY GOING TO HIM. REPENTANCE IS STILL THERE, BETWEEN YOU AN CHRIST. GODBLESS

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus " In the exhortation is the answer for all of us who profess faith in God and love for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: namely, that God wills for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth: and while there are so many voices in the world all screaming for attention yet to us there is but One Voice Who would that all men be saved, and Who has commanded us to pray and to give thanks for them all. We must not let ourselves be deceived and drawn away by the voices of politics, or celebrity, or any of the things that the people of the world look to for their guidance, identity, purpose and righteousness, instead of Christ. There is no wisdom outside the Word of God and there is no other Saviour but Jesus. We must therefore see people like our Father sees them, and be not entangled in the affairs and the fears and politics of a world that is about to be destroyed and taken away for ever. For His ways and His thoughts are far above what any of them know. One is our Master and Leader, and we ALL are brethren!

You are right, I tell my wife, who has difficulties, that we are saved, we are His,He died and rise to ascend after a time, to His Father's right hand. We are to live as His witness to others of his great love for us, and know He wants to be near to us daily, intimately as our God.
  • Rev Franklin Miller on 1 Timothy 2 - 6 years ago
In Verse 12, Paul was addressing the women in this fashion because they were most likely disrupting the services because of questions. He said later on that they were to ask their husbands at home. Also you cannot usurp authority as a woman IF you are asked to teach, preach, evangelize, or even Pastor a church. Usurp means to commandeer or do something w/o the right to do so. I pray this helps you
  • Emanuel Fernandes on 1 Timothy 2 - 6 years ago
Man saved or lost CANT tell you to preach or not to preach. God told me to tract I want to pastor instead. The holy ghost is not in me pastoring it's tracting. I OPEN THE DOOR AND NO MAN CAN SHUT IT I CLOSE THE DOOR AND NO MAN CAN OPEN IT. One way or another you WILL do what God calls you to do
  • A disciple on 1 Timothy 2 - 6 years ago
Renna; All of Paul's writings were the Word of God and the Spirit speaking through him. We cannot say, This was Paul speaking, and this was God speaking; and so think that one we can leave as man's opinion and the other as God's command. We should not be overreaching through this Word; for women may certainly preach and prophesy and sing their poetry to praise the LORD; but not dominate the men!
