Wesley's Notes for 1 Thessalonians 4:15

4:15 By the word of the Lord - By a particular revelation. We who are left - This intimates the fewness of those who will be then alive, compared to the multitude of the dead. Believers of all ages and nations make up, as it were, one body; in consideration of which, the believers of that age might put themselves in the place, and speak in the person, of them who were to live till the coming of the Lord. Not that St. Paul hereby asserted (though some seem to have imagined so) that the day of the Lord was at hand.

People's Bible Notes for 1 Thessalonians 4:15

1Th 4:15 For this we say. He now explains how it will be the Lord's coming. We which are alive [and] remain. We who are on the earth when the Lord comes, will not precede those who died in the Lord to meet him.

Thanks Everett, for your research on 'rapture'; the Lord wants us 'to study' to shew ourselves approved - OF GOD.
  • Matt
There is NO rapture, period. You will not even find it in scripture. As Paul stated, there is no way to prevent (precede) the dead, because they are with The Lord. All souls return to The Father (Ecc. ch. 12; 2nd Cor. ch. 5) until the great white throne judgment. At the trib. of the antichrist, The Holy Spirit will speak through His election (Rev. ch. 11) then the Real Christ returns: 7th trump.

David, a vessel is a hollow container used to hold substance. We, as born again, are to be filled with righteousness and honor and know how we are to refrain from all evil. Walk in godliness, shunning all sinfulness by the power in Jesus Christ.

David, verse 13 on applies to the righteous whom the LORD JESUS our Saviour corrected. He will Resurrect and Save His corrected as the world descends into descends into wrath, or hell. The wrath will correct the children of disobedience who refuse correction to this day. ALL perish in the wrath. Be blessed with love and truth in Christ. Amen. 1 Peter 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Ecclesiasticus 51:12 For thou savedst me from destruction, and deliveredst me from the evil time: therefore will I give thanks, and praise thee, and bless they name, O Lord.
