Israel was discontent with GOD, so they sought pleasure elsewhere, we are still doing that today we tend to lean more on our own will, instead of GOD 's DEVINE WILL.

I read the comments above and the words of Samuel
    History keeps repeating itself
Like a play and we the actors that read the lines were told
To continue down this path of misery and at a older age recognize all your efforts were fruitless
Yes as God spoke thru the prophet Samuel is teaching us again and again I see this time now as a selfish greedy lying thieving government as back then taking not one tenth of everything but half of everything
But worse then that is the. Crimson tide the abortion holocaust
How much longer can God allow this murderous atrocity to continue!!!
There is so much hate and. Death in this world right now
And so much lying and cover ups I think those times were better than now even with all this technology we have definitely lost our way!

This is also relevant in many choices we make today (relationships, endeavors, etc.). Our lack of patience, obedience, and/or humility tends to steer us in the direction of our own will and not the Will of GOD. We tend to place our faith in ourselves/man, whe GOD is telling us all the while, to place it in HIM. All things are provided to us in GODS time!
