    @Tina,
    I think 1 Peter 4 gives us the right attitudes to life unsolved problems.
    As we are sure that what we are after is the will of GOD for us, we should never give up, we must persevere, till the time GOD avails.
    But we must also be alert, there are times when we most focus to the east, while in fact GOD is ready providing from the west, so that should be period of live fellowship with GOD, to know what is really HIS will for us, in Christ Jesus.
    So, stand firm and continue serving GOD with joy, and unashamed.
    GOD bless you.

    We must have scriptural boundaries on our thinking when we are tried and tested to utmost, think of it only for what it is and do not associate it with anything or anyone else. It is victory in being tried by God, for your faith and trial are no mismatch.

    1Peter 4 is very clearly teaching us that we must be mindful of how we walk through our persecutions, our trials and sufferings because it is a reference from which sinners will draw when seeking to know The Christ Jesus we profess

    Another words if we put are flesh down (sin)we are going to live in the Spirit of God. God (Jesus) suffer for us, so we shouldn't complain if we suffer. If you are Christ like your going to suffer in the flesh.

    Patricia - I struggle with this verse also. Read verse 13 as well for better context. Then refer back to Psalm 34:19. and James 1:2-4 These verses are to encourage you in times of trouble - when we are doing all the right things, walking in righteousness and yet we still find outselves in adverse circumstances. God gets glory not from our affliction, but through our faith in Him to mould us, shape us, and conform us into the likeness of Christ through trying circumstances, and delivering us when we are perfected in this process.

    verse 12...
    It's application for us today is simply that if we live a Godly life, we can expect to suffer rebuke and abuse even as Christ suffered (verse 13), so don't be surprised or dismayed by this.

    1 Peter Chapter 4
    12 Beloued, thinke it not strange concerning the fiery triall, which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened vnto you.

    A baptism by fire according to one's works which is to come. It won't happen unto you from an outside force so much as it was decided by you as you lived your life.

    Underneath the restless surface Of each trail that comes in life Flows the Savior's love and power. They can calm our inner strife.

    Hi Patricia, verse 12 talks about the trials & tribulations we face in life. We are being told not to think of it as strange, (or unfair, if you will), but to rejoice even in times of trouble & keep on Praising God (as David praised God even when he was going through tough times). I hope this helps you.
