  • Robert Ruiz for verse 18
Philippians 2 12 instructs us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling
  • Kenneth anderson
I have struggle for years with my walk with god and i still do, but what i have learned is i have been angry with god that i wanted what everyone else has that i felt like i deserved, but for some strange reasons,i know that god has to clean to a point to be used in his glory without me being the one thinking i am in controlled, so 1 peter kinda helps me see the sinful natures that still has me having issue with, I am in my late 40's it speaks to me that god, has a way getting you to do his will even by removing all those things that you think you need in order to be happy, he loves you so much that he will show you how blind you can be without knowing this why you must endure the process even when it does not feel good to you but it is good for you in order for us to endure what he also had to endure to show you this process when bring glory through Christ Jesus amen

THERE'S NO WAY AS FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST JESUS WE WILL ESCAPE SUFFERINGS, AS HE DID FOR US SO MUST WE ALSO DO FOR OTHERS. FULFILLING THE LUST OF THE FLESH IS AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD
  • Rhonda for verse 1
Suffering gives us a new perspective. Things of the world have less influence on our lives, and our attention is increasingly set upon The Lord.
  • Willie tuggle for verse 17
When Peter said if it begins it begins with us, is he talking about the church or elders?
    1 Peter 4:17.
  • DOROTHY SAKWIYA
    FROM 1 PETER CHAPTER4:14-16
PAUL IS STRENGTHEN US AS THE BELIEVERS NOT TO BE SHAKEN WITH ANYTHING. JESUS CHRIST THAT WE ARE CARRYING IS THE ONE WHO STARTED TO BE PERCECUTED WHAT MORE THE FOLLOWERS. WE ARE CARRYING THE DENIED PERSON AND WE HAVE ACCEPTED DINIAL TOO LIKE HIM. IT IS TRUE THAT IF WE MEET CHALLENGES BECAUSE WE ARE THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST, JUST DANCE AND REJOICE BECAUSE WE KNOW WHY THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING TO US.
IF WE REJOICE WHEN WE MEET CALAMITIES, WE CAN MAKE OURSELF PROUD AND SHAME OUR ERNEMY DEVIL.

THE PERCECUTIONS ARE COMING WITH DEVIL FOR HIM TO TEST OUR FAITH BUT DONT WORRY, JUST SING SONGS OF PRAISE AND JOY IN PRAISING OUR GOD ALMIGHTY WHO AT IN HEAVEN AS DANIEL DID WHEN HE WAS IN THE DEN OF LIONS. SHADRECK, MISHECK & ABIDNEGO WERE REJOICING WHILE THEY WERE IN A BURNING FURNINCE FIRE. EVEN JEHOSAPHAT REJOICED WHEN HE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM SENACHARIB THEN AT THE END THERE ERNEMIES WERE PERISH AND ASHAMED. FROM TODAY LET US EXALT OUR GOD AND GLORIFY HIS NAME, INSTEAD OF CRYING LET US PRAISE AND THANK HIM IN ALL TIMES BECAUSE WE KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING AND WE WILL SEE WHAT OUR GOD WILL DO TO US IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. AMEN
  • Greetings brethren.

I think Peter addressing the Jews, believers and non believers, talks about the house of God( the temple in Jerusalem). The temple was destroyed about 10 years later.hence, he wasn't contradicting our standing after salvation.
  • Arronda for verse 12
I get it, now! Someone recently reminded me that God will keep on allowing me to go through the same (types of) tests until I get it.

I stand, in admitting that my focus had become distant from, truly, being on the Lord, as should be. (And I know that I am not the only one dealing with spiritual struggles). I had gotten or slipped away, into this logics-mode; trying to figure out the ignorance, non-sense, low-downness, and evil-heartedness--the demonic operations that I've seen in people...I'd gotten off track reasoning circumstances instead of following God's word: yielding/submitting to Him, committing in prayer (over myself; for them, and overall situations).

God has gotten my attention, I'm back! Seeing things God's way and not mine. THE MESSAGE: Fail not to remember what team we are on--we are 'Team Christ'. Fighting in the spiritual battle that is not ours, but the Lord's(1Sam.17:47b; 2Chron.20:15b). I was too busy minding God's business, instead of my own--of being faithful in His way; seeking His will concerning me and all things. And remaining faithful to God: focused on His word; endeavored/invested/studious in His word; seeking His will [daily], (v12) we will find it more accustomed than strange going through our tests and fiery trials, which are to try us, and (v13) we will be able to--conditioned to, and positioned to rejoice that we partake in the sufferings of Christ; for His glory! Amen. (Didn't intend to be so lengthy, but I couldn't help my-spiritual-self (lol) And, yes, I am a preacher, but, no, we are not perfect, either, and we go through ups & downs too, and Jesus comes to all of our rescues--whatever the source or means).
  • Barbara
After becoming a Christian, you have changed your ways and are no longer "in the world". So the ones that you used to follow along with think you are strange and talk bad about you because you no longer want to do the things that you used to do with them.God has our back if we stick with Him and no need to be ashamed of God, He will take care of us.
  • HisDaughterGloryToHimTheUltimateSinnerWitchPastLife for verse 12
And I will praise you. What the powers and principalities, what they meant for evil. You meant for good. God's will prevailed and now I stand as a living example of your power as you have honored me. I was of the occult and satan wanted me so bad. They tried to kill me. Through many miracles and many tears you healed me and put an everlasting smile on my face and in my heart. Who is like you? Who could ever compare. God annoint the book you commision I begun writing today. For your love, for the book, and for your name and all-encompasing powers sake I am alive and well now to live your purpose. Love Forever-Your Daughter (You Know Me YHVH)! I love you hopelessly infinity x (multiplied) by infinty big in eternity with no restaints!!!
  • Jeremy for verse 8
This verse is easily explained to children and its application towards their siblings has shown effective.
  • Pableto Gomez for verse 8
I need more explination about these verse,,,
  • This verse (1 Peter 4:8) refers to atonement for forgiven sins so that our Purgatory time will be shortened or mitigated entirely.
  • Johnbosco chibueze
To live to the will of God we must put to death our lustful flesh and be ruled by the spirit. This we can do by paying less attention to the worldly demands of our flesh and enriching our spirit daily with prayer and good work(love). It is really sweet to live according to the will of our Maker, in that we are ***ured to fulfil our destiny in life and win souls unto salvation.
    Friends,ENJOY in Christ.
  • Dennis for verse 18
We should all bear in mind, Saved from what. If one is SAVED what is he/she being saved from? If its from hell that implies we have free will. Mans will has always been to not want God. God has to do the saving, we have nothing to do with it. This is even Biblical.
  • David L. Atkins
I really liked the article and the sencerity of the bible verses associated with the text. But does this point of view experss the need and our earthly duty to serve each other. Keeping in mind that there are numerious denomations and we all praise the same Loed and Savior.
  • Lorraine
Human beings are very funny. They don't think that they should suffer. They will do anything to avoid suffering. They do not want to admit that suffering exists. Jesus Christ on the other hand, was the Son of God. He did not see suffering in the same way as we do, thank God! Jesus taught us: It is not IF you will suffer, but WHEN. St Peter picks up the same thread as St Paul does in Philippians: I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection by participation in His sufferings, becoming like him in his death. A person who has not suffered in his body can never really understand this. Until you HAVE suffered in your body you will continue to run away from suffering. God has a way of teaching us, though. No matter who you are or what you believe in, some day your body will give up on you, and then you will turn to God your maker, and He will be waiting to teach you HIS laws.
  • Marlo
It gave me the break that I have been looking for; I always say: to defeat the enemy, you must know the scriptures.
  • Timothy Wayne George
It is time for judgment to begin from the house of God, for if the righteous are scarcely saved, what hope have the ungodly? We must not suffer as murderers, thieves, or gossips. We must suffer as Jesus suffered, and commit our soul to Him. God will judge all those who falsely accuse you at the appearing of Jesus Christ. So walk in love, for love covers a multitude of sins.
  • Sampson Abanga for verse 7
Let’s be prayerful and watchful. Sound minded and wear the cloth of LOVE.
  • André
    @Tina,
I think 1 Peter 4 gives us the right attitudes to life unsolved problems.
As we are sure that what we are after is the will of GOD for us, we should never give up, we must persevere, till the time GOD avails.
But we must also be alert, there are times when we most focus to the east, while in fact GOD is ready providing from the west,… so that should be period of live fellowship with GOD, to know what is really HIS will for us, in Christ Jesus.
So, stand firm and continue serving GOD with joy, and unashamed.
    GOD bless you.
  • James for verse 12
We must have scriptural boundaries on our thinking when we are tried and tested to utmost, think of it only for what it is and do not associate it with anything or anyone else. It is victory in being tried by God, for your faith and trial are no mismatch.
  • James
1Peter 4 is very clearly teaching us that we must be mindful of how we walk through our persecutions, our trials and sufferings because it is a reference from which sinners will draw when seeking to know The Christ Jesus we profess
  • HENRYSEARCY for verse 12
THE DEVIL WILL TRY YOU , GOD WILL TEST YOU.NO TEST NO TESTIMONY
  • HENRY SEARCY
IF THE DEVIL IS NOT AFTER YOU THAT MEANS HE ALREADY HAVE YOU WHERE HE WANTS YOU
  • Yvonne for verse 1
thank you for the scriptures that have blessed me so much
  • Cheryl
Another words if we put are flesh down (sin)we are going to live in the Spirit of God. God (Jesus) suffer for us, so we shouldn't complain if we suffer. If you are Christ like your going to suffer in the flesh.
  • Booker
Patricia - I struggle with this verse also. Read verse 13 as well for better context. Then refer back to Psalm 34:19. and James 1:2-4 These verses are to encourage you in times of trouble - when we are doing all the right things, walking in righteousness and yet we still find outselves in adverse circumstances. God gets glory not from our affliction, but through our faith in Him to mould us, shape us, and conform us into the likeness of Christ through trying circumstances, and delivering us when we are perfected in this process.
  • Alan
    verse 12...
It's application for us today is simply that if we live a Godly life, we can expect to suffer rebuke and abuse even as Christ suffered (verse 13), so don't be surprised or dismayed by this.
